If the black hole was big enough to have an accretion disc that produced enough light and heat then theoretically it would have its own Goldilocks zone but would probably come with it's own complications. Life seems relentless though, I'm sure it would find a way.
It would be possible, large black holes have discs of plasma orbiting them called accretion discs. They’re super hot and bright and would likely provide enough heat and warmth for a planet the perfect distance away to sustain life. Would be pretty crazy. They is actually a term for planets orbiting black holes. They’re called blanets.
So Earth's magnetic spheres protect us from extra solar radiation, but our Sun protects our entire solar system from interstellar radiation? I never knew that about our Sun🥲
Well one thing i think, if a black hole replaced our sun as depicted in this video, we'd probably still be able to see it, it just wouldnt be nearly as bright as the sun, It would probably just appear to us as a slightly larger star in the sky. It might even provide heat if it has enough matter in its accretion disc, assuming it has one. If not then yeah we wouldnt see or feel it.
Great video! Shame people just pit you up against Kurzgestat when your actual animation/art style is different. I suppose its your choice of thumbnails which are, lets be honest, almost direct copies of theirs
If the blackhole was the same mass as the sun, it would be cold, planets would still orbit the same. But we could use the area around it as a more powerful gravitational telescope. And we'd be stuck with the long title of "Can't Steal My Sunshine, you dang Blackhole Sun" by Len Soundgarden. 😉
if religious texts are to be taken scientifically - the phenomenon describing the sun being bigger and more brighter, the days getting shorter to be mere minutes could be an indication of supernova
@@trunzlerclement3227 Yeah i get that. I guess I was looking at the video in which he was showing a secretion disk around the black home and i assumed he was talking about a black hole with a disk. Thanks for your response though. That’s actually super scary to imagine a black hole without a disk. We’re on a planet with no light and this destructive object out there with no way of observing it.
I'm sorry to have to correct this, but in the first sketch 0:02 the Earth is shown as the 2nd planet of the solar system and Venus or Mars as the 3rd. Just as a reference.
People tend to forget black hole isn’t a hole, it has intense heat in event horizon and gravity. The time will start to get slow when you are near as black hole due your it’s immense gravity. You also get spaghettification… the intense heat also will burn you to ashes just like turning any planets or stars they devour to gases…. During the event horizon… so interstellar is a crap movie….
This was very exciting to watch! Even in the most unlikely situation, we might survive! This kind of gives hope for current times. As always, thx for this mate. Cheers 🥂
I think you need to do more research. If the sun disappears the least concern of humanity would be ice and cold. It would literally start to snow Oxygen and nitrogen and the whole atmosphere will freeze, like on Pluto. There would be no Oxygen as air to breathe
There is no black holes. Most people don't know that Einstein said that singularities are not possible. In the 1939 journal "Annals of Mathematics" he wrote - "The essential result of this investigation is a clear understanding as to why the Schwarzchild singularities (Schwarzchild was the first to raise the issue of General Relativity predicting singularities) do not exist in physical reality. Although the theory given here treats only clusters (star clusters) whose particles move along circular paths it does seem to be subject to reasonable doubt that more general cases will have analogous results. The Schwarzchild singularities do not appear for the reason that matter cannot be concentrated arbitrarily. And this is due to the fact that otherwise the constituting particles would reach the velocity of light." He was referring to the phenomenon of dilation. Mass that is dilated is smeared through spacetime relative to an outside observer. It's the phenomenon behind the phrase "mass becomes infinite at the speed of light". A 2 axis graph illustrates its squared nature, dilation increases at an exponential rate the closer you get to the speed of light. A time dilation graph illustrates the same phenomenon, it's not just time that gets dilated. Dilation will occur wherever there is an astronomical quantity of mass because high mass means high momentum. This includes the centers of very high mass stars and the overwhelming majority of galaxy centers. It can be inferred mathematically that the mass at the center of our own galaxy is dilated. This means that there is no valid XYZ coordinate we can attribute to it, you can't point your finger at something that is smeared through spacetime. More precisely, everywhere you point is equally valid. In other words that mass is all around us. This is the explanation for galaxy rotation curves/dark matter. The "missing mass" is dilated mass. Dilation does not occur in galaxies with low mass centers because they do not have enough mass to achieve relativistic velocities. It has been confirmed in 6 very low mass galaxies including NGC 1052-DF2 and DF4 to have no dark matter, in other words they have normal rotation rates. All binary stars have normal rotation rates for the same reason.
@@jmcooney2000 The fact that very low mass galaxies and all binary stars have normal rotation rates is virtual proof, there can be no other realistic explanation. When more very low mass galaxies are confirmed to have no dark matter it will be clear

"What If a Black Hole Replaced The Sun?"
Short answer: We die.
Long answer: We die in style.
So... the Interstellar movie was a lie, life cannot exist orbiting a black hole? 😢
It can, the black hole just has to be big enough, which Gargantuan was
If the black hole was big enough to have an accretion disc that produced enough light and heat then theoretically it would have its own Goldilocks zone but would probably come with it's own complications.

The planet was a lot closer to the black hole in the movie than earth is to the sun i think
