Alongside the seven movements of the 14th quartet, the "Mighty Razumovsky Fugue" as I like to call it, was the one piece of music that helped me love the concept of the string quartet. There was a time when string quartet's were something very alien to me. That was back when I only studied concert pianism and orchestral music. Now of course, the Beethoven quartet's are among my most well loved musical works. Bravo! Just bravo!
This quaret is the shortest of thre three "Rasumovski". It has features of its own: the pizzicati of the second movement, the fugato in the last one. An attractive quartet indeed.
I love these "Obeythoven" performances in general and this quartet in particular. I agree with another commenter, you can see how much the second violin player is enjoying the music. I also love how, like in many of the quartets, Beethoven really gives the viola a chance to shine. I love how he used that instrument's throaty, raspy sound to good effect. One of my favorites.
Gary Bisaga The "Obeythoven - Quartets" and the "Daniel Barenboim on Beethoven - Piano Sonatas" are my two favourite recitals only with Beethoven's pieces!
Jack Housman Interesting! I did not know that, but I could see that. Here's something interesting: www.beethoven-haus-bonn.de/sixcms/list.php?page=ausstellungsstuecke_museum_en&skip=1
Clayelle Dalferes introduced me to this piece a long bunch of years ago -- back in the WNCN days -- and I'll be forever grateful. (I'm also grateful that, at long last, she's let photos of her appear on the web.) I doubt there's a more beautiful piece of music -- or woman.

The three Razumovsky SQ are for me the best of Beethoven quarters. Particularly I love Nr 7th. Of course Harp and Serioso are also superb. No other composer gave to these kind of composition the grandeur Beethoven achieved. Well he had a good teacher: Haydn.
Terrific, precision-laced, exuberant performance. TI think this is the most graspable, least abstract of the three masterful Rasumovskys. LvB had some really fine coffee while writing this one.
Chamith Akalanka, however LvB did it, we’re the beneficiaries of his creative genius. Was it 60 or 57 beans each day? I’ve read he was fanatically precise about how many beans were ground per cup!
This is so modern! As if some extraordinary contemporary composer had created this. It sounds like modern music wants, needs to sound, but virtually never succeeds.
This qurttet is clearly idpired bt The last of the quartets of Mozart de dicated to haydn: same tonality, same dissonant introduction to a consonant and rather simple first movement. The quartet that we hear here is absiolutely excellent.
wow... It is amazing... Beethoven didn t compose the cantity of Mozart, Bach, Schubert or Chopin, but Chopin, Schubert, Mozart and Bach (Vivaldi, etc), didn t compose the cantity of cality of Beethoven, no man... ¡NEVER! (And some of them being deaf, hahahahaha)
SO LOVABLE , fantastic ,wonderful performance ! Thanks for posting this great performance !
I love this string quartet to death
Wow! One of my favourite string quartets, gives Mozart and Haydn a run for their money - that finale! Cracking performance, a joy.
And this is why he is Beethoven and NOT Mozart.
You can really feel the pleasure of the quartet. An incredible performance!

So what? It's such a drag to watch.
I have no words - maybe: breathtaking. That last movement. Wow...
YES! Maybe then this orchestration of that finale you might like also: th-cam.com/video/YkgmgS0xVvU/w-d-xo.html
@@gerdprengel7616 Wow, thank you! If that doesn't get your blood pumping, nothing will!

***** I understand that Beethoven played the viola when playing quartets, as did Vaughn Williams later.

Yes, Beethoven played the viola as a young man in the orchestra in Bonn.
I LOVE YOU for posting this. We added to our playlist of Best on TH-cam for Beethoven. Keep up the amazing work
Thank you!
A first-rate performance -- you can really hear the "wood" of the cello.

Brilliant performance. There is one particular passage that I could listen to endlessly.
Thank at Theodore Servin

Make up your mind🤩
Haydn called Beethoven "that great mogul". Not very flattering.
Although I'm quite a big Mozart gal, this quartet still makes me tingle
Amazing performance!
Beautiful and masterfully in sync! ❤️
Very nice, thank you for posting
Excellent Performance!
Outstanding!
Beethoven's heaven
EpochTime brings me here, Thankyou!

Gut gelangen
1st movement
0:08 begins | 9:09 *cough
2nd movement
Oh my stars. Way to shake it up. The youngs will be lining for minutes for tickets. You put
Beethoven in the background. Wow way to shake it guys.
This is better than any sin... Oh... ¿There is really something better than Beethoven music?
great performance
#ripbeethoven his gig was the first I ever went to
Ngyabonga zngane...nawenza kahle umsebenzi ka BABA u BEethovan, even Beethovan himself would be humbled by these guys
This is my jam
Bravi!! Excellent.
Fantastic playing! Such focus and energy! The camera work was a crime against violists, though.
Love it
Spot on! Los of talent right there!
Excelente interpretación.
C major rules!!! (and a minor)
WOW THIS IS AMAZINGGGG ABSOLUTLY INCREDIBLEEEEE!!!! WHAT A MASTERPIECE!!!!

Amazing ❤
O, Beethoven!!! 👍👍😁❗❤😁😁😁
great!
Bravo!!!
Very precise live performance with perfect synchronicity and coordination. Simply adorable!
I came here because of a Wattpad fanfiction that made me really happy
LOVE THE LADIES JUST LIKE THE ARIEL QUARTET,,,,,
Excellent sound of the musicians,
Good sound quality
And very bad direction of the images that are completely disconnected with the work.
They is good yo!
Jasper is in Canada.

The "Razumovsky" Quartets are far above Mozart's compositions.
For me, the 1st movement is taken just a fraction too fast for the intracies to be appreciated; purely a personal opinion of course.
Pura gioia! ❤
where is the 3rd movement?
21:05, right?
¡LOS DEMONIOS DE BEETHOVEN!
Not hard to tell who the cameraman had a thing for.
25:31
11:06 🎻♥
How good is this?
{Atemberaubend}

Fabulous performance, but the cameraman/woman really needs to do his/her homework.
The cellist has lovely lips, but the violist needs a shave.
They play wonderfully. Splendid.
What the heck?
Listen to the music! No one wants your ignorant observations!
The last of us brought me here
Such a masterful piece, performed at such a high level, bravo!
Very precise live performance with perfect synchronization and coordination. Simply adorable!
