Hey, a great album that you should listen to is “Everything Goes Numb” by streetlight manifesto. It’s an early 2000’s ska punk album, but as of now it’s probably one of my favorite albums! If you don’t it’s fine, but hey I always love the opinions of others!
Ahead of it's time? I don't hear anything revolutionary personally, been listening to Tribe for years and a mumble rapper is hardly going to blow me away. Don't get the scene when this gets such high praise.
@@huealexg3068 It contributed to a microgenre, as defined, and not a very interesting one. Sorry fam, I like my hip hop old school, this new shit does nothing for me.
If you already dislike "mumble rap" then it makes sense that you won't understand why people think it is revolutionary. Also if your a fan of tribe and old school hip hop then listen to the many current genre pushing lyrical artists like Earl Sweatshirt, Billy Woods, and many others, instead of hearing music you don't understand and just saying "this new shit does nothing for me."
@@RyanWallace-bn8ijExplain to me, without insults, what I don't understand about this particular record, because all I'm doing is listening to it, going into with enthusiasm because of the title of this react, and coming away cold. What do I not get?
@@ShiivaWilding maybe as someone who likes old school hip hop it wouldn't appeal to you. its much less focused on lyrics and just atmosphere and sound. his live shows have so much energy because of this. people can really just go crazy to his music and not care about diving into lyricism and stuff like that. maybe give one of his live shows a watch but tbh it might put you off even more with all the screaming and nonsensical noises he makes
