You're right. I'm almost 70 and this is the first I've ever heard of these little critters.
These foxes are absolutely adorable, and absolutely vital to the health of the prairies. Just two of many reason that these little speed demons must be protected. Thank you for this great video, Danielle. I hope you enjoyed that frolick at the end, there.

In the kids' animated series The World Of David The Gnome, one of the main characters was a fox named Swift. Swift was very loyal to David. He also would take David anywhere he needed to go. Swift definitely lived up to his name.

In elementary school in, I think, 5th grade. We had to write a poem. I wrote a poem all about Swift Foxes. I don’t remember how it went, I only remember that it was a non-fictional poem about the Swift Fox.

Fun and informative video! The historic range map was a bit off, considering they ranged as far east as Minnesota, Iowa, and Missouri before the mixed grass prairie was destroyed. There definitely is not enough work being done to preserve this most important ecosystem and its near cousin ecosystem is the most endangered in the world, thus why the animals that relied on it are gone or in critical population conditions. Hoping the U.S. will do more studies on Swift Fox (Vulpes velox)!

Great video! I love Swift foxes and Grasslands is my favourite spot on the planet. I'm headed back to Grasslands and area for the third time and have searched to no avail for the Swift Fox each time! Wish me luck! Any tips you might have would be appreciated! Keep up the great work!

See them in Wildoming, they are usually fairly tame. Go from one Hole to the Next in Prarie Dog Towns.

I think I saw one of these guys in Montana just outside Yellowstone but didn't know what it was, thought maybe a tiny coyote because it wasn't the same colors as a red fox
