Not sure if you know this and/or find it helpful, but you can get mail from Mason by just talking to the gym leaders and then declining to battle. This works for Mitch, Gene, Murray, Ken, and Rick's assistant. Then you can save before checking the mail to fish for the cards you want. Give poor Matthew a break :'( Anyway really appreciate these vids, thanks for the fun challenges!

Oh! I've been meaning to tell you: You often have trouble with energy cards at the beginning of your challenges. Once Dr. Mason gives you your starting deck, put all of your energy cards into it so you have none in your "inventory" so to speak. Then talk to the aide to the right of Mason and he'll give you 10 of each energy.

I want to see the ultimate battle with Pokemon TCG's infamous RNG: Only using attacks and Pokemon Powers with the word "random" in them. I think this only allows you to deal damage with Promo Meowth, Promo Pidgeot, Promo Articuno, and Promo Zapdos, with no control of who you hit (Mew if you allow Card Pop Pokemon). Also, if I remember right, Zapdos can hit your own Pokemon, so good luck with that. How much can you use Trainer cards to minimize a deck that needs to relies solely on randomness?
I love your Pokemln TCG videos! I'd suggest you play the hack/mod rom Pokemon TCG Neo, it changes almos all the cards to gen 2 cards. It also does some balancing in the game. Idk if it can work for new challenges but it can be a cool spinoff!

Maybe let Spike do a run with them instead, as a special gift (or maybe, something something- Mathew kidnaps you and demands the legendary cards, so Spike uses them to rescue you in the only way possible in a challenge run video, by beating the game with them. *Shrugs* Just an idea.). It'd also be cool to try a run with the special pikachu cards (flying and surfing). I'm not sure how hard it would be to get them, since I think at least one of them requires you to beat the game first, so if you do decide to give it a go, using codes or a previous save would probably help a lot to cut down the grind. Regardless, I look forward to seeing your next challenge, whatever it is. :)
@Paraspectre not exactly, but changes like giving mons moves they had in the games the ai has not been changed, but the npcs have more deck types it strives for balance, not just some wacky fakemon nonsense like alot of fan pokemon games
