For all who are confused in 2° oocyte and ovum On 14 th day,the mature grafian follicule ruptures and releases the 2° oocyte present in it (which is arrested in metaphase 2) After the sexual Intercourse the sperm reaches the oocyte ,when both of them fuse ,first the 2° oocyte continue it's division and completes the meiosis 2 and now it's called an ovum The sperm already fused there i.e the sperm and ovum are already together will turn into zygote and then embryo and so on a baby.
@@chetanchavan689 hey that's a good question Here's the answer:- On 14th day when the graafian follicle ruptures it releases a body named 2° oocyte which is an immature egg since it hasn't completed it's meiosis 2 (basically it's arrested in metaphase 2) The 2° oocyte will only be called ovum when it's fertilized (when a sperm fuses with 2° oocyte the 2° oocyte first completes it's division i.e. meiosis 2 and is now a mature egg and would be called ovum and then the story goes like embryo and baby) If fertilization doesn't occur the 2° oocyte can't complete it's division to become a mature egg I.e ovum and would degenerate as per the rule and TADA it's periods time (menstruation) since no implantation occur In the uterus wall I'm sorry not directly getting on thr point 😅 but I hope it helped Anyways remember this that 2°oocyte can never complete it's division if it's not fused with a sperm i.e if not fertilized ;)
@@chetanchavan689 I have a question for you.. Do you think period is the release of egg which didn't fertilized along with the endometrium. And if not then what?

Mam one question please . How does menstruation cycle occurs, if secondary oocyte is dependent on sperm to complete 2nd meosis. Suppose sperm has arrived and ovum gonna fuse with it but what about menstruation how does it takes place , It means no sperm no menstruation ????? Bcoz you r talkiing about the ovum that degrades during menstruation... But ovum is only formed after the sperm entry.... It means that secondary oocyte that degrades in menstruation , not the ovum. .. Right Please mam I'm little bit confused! 🤔
@@preethikoneru6672han mere kehne ka mtlb ki agr sperm nhi aaya toh secondary oocyte will degrades and menstruation will occur . ?? Iska mtlb secondary oocyte hota hai jo destroy hota na na ki ovum Yes or not???
Can you answer... when the ovum form after fertilization of sperm and secondary oocyte so why it's ploidy level is still ''n'' otherwise sperm has 23 and oocyte has also 23 chromosomes ... so why it is not ''2n''?????

Thank you so much I was confused 😃😃
But when there is no sexual intercourse then in menstruation is the ovum not released

Mem, so can we call fertilized egg as ovum?🙄
No . Ovum is female gamete and sperm is male gamete and when sperm and ovum fused that is called fertilisation through this process zygote formed.☺️
