blackpink’s lead rapper, jennie, has opened up about her past insecurity and how she embraced it gradually. the k-pop icon revealed that during childhood, she earned the nickname “mandu" which translates to dumpling. the reason was her chubby cheeks. while fans now adoringly call jennie by the cute nickname, there was a time when the singer was insecure about that particular facial feature. in an interaction with actress-singer hyeri, jennie admitted that over the years, her opinion has changed. now, it does not bother jennie whether her cheeks are puffy or slim.
during the candid conversation, jennie confessed that she disliked her round face shape when young, reported koreaboo. to make them appear sharp, she used to suck in her cheeks. but at present, jennie disclosed that she feels sad when her chubby cheeks disappear after juggling hectic work schedules and losing weight. to this, hyeri chimed in saying that she echoes a similar sentiment. the record of the youth actress expressed her wish to have a v-line.
