Cix jungle is based on the rings of hell, each member is in a different hell according to the sin they committed. And Cix concept deals with school bullying and struggles, 38:13 yonghee committed suicide which then after it carried you to jungle where each of them are in hell. seen before numb Era they released video that are on their concept that shows what happened.The name of the film is 'hello, strange place story film each episode is based on each member experience.( also every b-side is a bop my favorite are move my body, here for you(fully English song), bad dream, Everything and change me. Literally they have no bad song not one every on you can listen to on repeat:)
OMG YES CIX!! A group that deserves way more recognition. "Movie Star" was an insane debut, "Jungle" is a masterpiece (both the song and the video), "Cinema" is beautiful and "Wave" is incredible. CIX always has hits and their b-sides are top tier. Love that you were able to check them out!
Been loving every video in this season of the First Look series and sad it's almost over. Thank you for all these amazing videos and take a nice long rest once this over, you more than deserve it!
As an avid fan of EXO, I can say the only 4th gen boy group that can fill that gap of musicality in songs these days is CIX. I love them and I do hope they get more recognition cus their songs are really good, it feels like their discography prioritizes music for the ears before dance/performance visually.
Right?! EXO is my favorite kpop group and always have been and when CIX came out with Hello Stranger Chap 1, i fell in love, especially with "What you wanted" still one of my fave song from them

The guy in movie star is Bae Jinyoung and girl you should have seen him in produce101, he was shy and lacked confidence but with Cix he really came out of his shell and as you can se he exudes all this confidence and you bet I was shooooketh when I saw him debuting with cix and dancing like that. He is amazing.
2:50 the guy who is constantly attacking you is Bae Jinyoung. He’s also the one at 5:33 , 7:23 and 20:35. 28:09 is also Jinyoung, you recognised him! He’s the center and a great dancer so that’s why he’s always in the middle
10:18 the one going off in the background is our main vocalist Seunghun! He’s fantastic

honestly, there’s a reason CIX are my ults. not only because of their musicality and absolutely beautiful discography, but because no matter what genre they do, they manage to grasp onto the concept and execute it perfectly. they know the concept they’re going for, understand it, and enforce it.
even when CINEMA was somewhat in the retro trend, they still managed to create their own sound through a soft pop subtlety as well. i nearly got annoyed with the retro songs kpop groups released because they all sounded so similar and non-catching. but then CIX broke through with CINEMA.
glad to say imma FIX since debut and will continue doing so.

the credits scene in wave ties to the story of their comeback "numb" and its shorts films, which you didnt watch here but they talk about very serious (and important) issues so major trigger warning for bullying, self-harm, suicide, etc. cix gives us the range of rich and well-developed concepts that honestly only vixx had given us so far
omg yes cix!! they have one of the best discographies in the game. also, they have an interesting overarching concept where all of their MVs are based off of dante's divine comedy (which explains some of the events happening in each mv)

I know very little about CIX and their music, but Jungle is still one of my favorite Kpop songs of all time. There’s not a single part of that song that I don’t like, and the MV is stunning!

And they’re shorter and easier to digest:) I would also suggest the album Be OK (their first full album iinw) Will get back to you in a bit with some categories heh and my personal favs! But i’m not sure which genres are more your cup of tea!

Every time that I listen to jungle I am just amazed. It's a masterpiece and possibly one of my favorite songs in the entire industry of kpop. That's saying something since I listen to too many groups haha. But seriously like wow. From the production to the vocals. The chorus and the beat drop oh I will die Every time.
I almost screamed when you said they have SOUL in their voices because YES, THEY DO. It's what I love the most about them. Any group can have good producers working with them, but the way they put emotions in their voices, the way they adapt their singing to the concepts and everything it's what makes CIX different (at least for me).
I would love it if you make another video reacting to their music 👉👈 their debut mini album is SO ICONIC, you have to listen to it. ♡

So there are a lot of comments about the concept, but I didn't see any mention of the pre-debut MV Win, which leads into the whole concept basis. One member was getting bullied and the other members, although they used to be friends have all gone their own ways and are ignoring their bullied friend...who then jumps off a building. Now they are all going through Hell (literally in Jungle) in order to get to out to Paradise, Wave is about their journey to Purgatory which is half way between Hell and Heaven. It's all very heavily based on Dante's Divine Comedy for details please check out Bookish Theories, she breaks things down really well. Anyway, if you come back around to CIX please check out WIN. I only stan dreamcatcher but I'm interested in cix now (pronounced as six, right?) is there a video guide? Seems a long story. And while I'm here, I also recommend you dreamcatcher. They are like cix (underrated -_- and have no recognition)! If I stan cix, they will be the first boy group I stan! :)

i agree with the slight r&b sound that movie star has comment! tbh cix really love that sound a LOT and u can hear it in a bunch of their bsides (which are also so freaking good like wth) and they really do it justice! they have such a neat and perfect discography it's insane 🤞 a lot of people often confuse cix with being a non 4th gen group cuz they really are that GOOD and i feel like they have a very solid foundation to their sound

I'm so happy you've included CIX in your First Look series! JUNGLE was my introduction to CIX and their sound was unlike anything I had ever heard in K-pop. CIX is one of the most genuine groups out there. Their growth as a group was really fascinating to witness. Their discography is one of the stronger ones in the 4th gen, tbh.

The guy with the shoulders out in 'Movie Star' is actually Wanna One's Bae Jinyoung! And I also can't believe Movie Star is their debut song, it's actually iconic. CIX is such a gem of a group! I'm glad you reacted to them.

I'm so so so happy you love them!!! They are so good!!! The one that catch your eyes is Bae Jinyoung he was in produce 101 s1 end up in the temporary group Wanna One and now in CIX his evolution is just crazy !! He grew up really really well!! And don't worry you'll understand the last scene in Wave when you wtach all the video from the Num era ;) Their story line is so good one of my favorite ever even if it's angts++++ haha!! I hope to see you recat to them again soon. Oh and I think you will reallly enjoy their Japanese mv like Revival is by far my favorite song ever from them and that's say a lot as they have a no skip discography!!!!
Wave and Cinema make me cry every single time I see the MVs, CIX has such depth as a group, they only release bops!!!

I've never actively listened to Cix before, but even when I don't know the group at all I love your reactions so much. At the start when they asked if I wanted to play with them I spat all over my laptop.
Also the "she knows it" bit... is it Bruno Mars Finesse? That's what I'm hearing, or am I crazy? 😅
Anyway that's such a good debut song! All these songs seem so mature musically, conceptually, and vocally. It's so impressive. I love Cinema! I'd added it to my playlist before you'd finished watching, and I will definitely be dipping my toes into Cix in future.
CIX has an on going concept, it really started for their first come back Numb which you didn't watch in this video but they released short films leading up to Numb's release then did two epilogues but then kind of released "unrelated" comebacks or so it seems, I wasn't really sure what they were doing with the story line but I did find it interesting that they decided to continue the story at the end of Wave!
another group i'm discovering with you! I've listened to Jungle A LOT but i hadn't watched the mv and i've never heard more songs from them and holy frick! they are truly amazing . I'll add all of these songs to my playlists for sure.

OMG CIX! You truly have been blessing us with this season two. So many good artists. I didn't even think of the possibility of getting a CIX first look but it's a fab choice they have a dare I say flawless discography.

Play with you is Bae Jinyoung. You will come to know him well. Lol as you will all of them.
They were serving straight from the go on their debut. But most of the members had already been in eliminations for other groups or short term groups so they had worked out that new start feel and hit the ground running as CIX.
Honestly jungle should have got a win, multiple wins. Much like ACE these guys are incredible and have a lore running through their albums and have superb title tracks, brilliant bsides and stunning mvs but still have yet to nail a win. 😔
I recommend: ‘the one’, ‘what you wanted’ as well. Then dance practice (live stage as well) for ‘black out’. ‘Numb’ and the mini movies, ‘my new world’, Japanese release ‘revival’ is beautiful, universe single ‘Tesseract’, Bae Jinyoung single ‘hard to say goodbye’ is tear jerker. They have done covers as well, bts spring day among them. Exos love me right, and it’s a lot by all members.
They have so much range in their vocals, visuals and personalities and all show excellent dance skills. They have all the talents and are VERY dangerous.
Jungle is based on Dante’s inferno which is the 9 circles of hell. They are showing some of the levels like the limbo all Smokey with the skull clouds, the river Styx with the boat and souls, the frozen hell etc. Each trying to escape out and seemingly each making some kind of progress. This is tied with their lore from the first two chapters and if you watch their mini films for each character it can be quite intense and warning deals with some triggering topics like teen suicide, peer pressure and depression so some sensitive viewing advised.
Cinema is so cute and warm and uwu. the charm can cover the actual great music, amazing vocals and clever choreo. But it is like a hug in music form. Also yes it is bae Jinyoung that keeps attacking you. Lol a common issue, and he will do it - A LOT. He’s the center and visual of the group as well as vocalist and dancer.
Other amazing vocals from hyunsuk and seunghun. But they all can vocal. Lol
Wave is so uplifting and feels like actual waves in the design, vocals and producing. The shock ending is tied to the movies and what happens to them and possibly why they go through hell to change the outcome. But it’s quite jarring and every single reactor has been the same at the end all happy and high then silence, shock and why? What? Etc.
BX - leader, rapper, vocalist. (Byounggon) he was in a group whos debut was cancelled then on treasure box with Seunghan and made it to finals. They both left YG after not making Treasure.
Seughun - main vocalist, dancer. See above note for bx, he also was on survival show with stray kids. Had been training in both cube and YG for over 9yrs training. So it’s so good to see them finally able to shine and show their talents in CIX which I think is kind of a better fate for them and us.
Yonghee - vocalist and visual. Loves cereal and happy bouncy boy.
Bae Jinyoung - lead vocalist, dancer, face of group, centre. He has a LOT of nicknames lol a lot to do with black or chocolate. He was in produce 101, and was in the group WANNA ONE (they were only a short term group but they have a reunion stage coming for end of year). The cute vids of him sleeping in ball pit, getting scared after watching annabelle film and going to his older produce members is uwu.
Hyunsuk - dancer, lead rapper, vocalist and maknae. Tall and big maknae lol all legs! Lol
Generally you will come to know them but I’m so glad you enjoyed their music as more people totally should stan CIX and welcome to FIX (fan base name, faith in X - FIX).
