    I really enjoy these videos. I worked for the GM&O and ICG for 20 yrs. and many of the current safety features did not exist then as they do now. Great Videos. Thank you Sir. I didn't build anything for years because I didn't think I could have all that I needed for my prototype. This teaches me that less is more.

    • @ThomasKlimoski
      @ThomasKlimoski  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Charles, Thanks for your comments. I am sure you have seen big changes in your years working for the railroad. By following a few of the prototype rules you can add time (and fun) to an ops session. You don't need a large layout to have a nice ops session. If I run my four different switch jobs in sequence I can have a 3 hour ops session. Not bad for a layout in a room of less than 100 square feet. You can see more about my layout on my website at www.ThomasKlimoski.com. If you have any questions as you design and build your layout you can contact me through my website, and I'll be glad to help you.-Tom

    Excellent video Tom!
    The gate is one of my favorite interactive elements on your RR. Your pace of operations is so much more realistic, than the jackrabbit movements of some RR’s. Nicely done as always.
    Thanks for the bloopers, they capped off a great video. The crew really need to watch where they’re standing!

    • @ThomasKlimoski
      @ThomasKlimoski  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi William, Thanks for your comments. I recently added the padlocks and I like the extra step it takes to unlock the padlock before you can operate the gate. Slow, steady, and safe is the way to operate when it comes to switching operations on the prototype, and we should do the same on our model railroads.
      I did not notice the car hit the conductor until I was editing the video, then I knew I had to add it to the blooper reel along with the conductor being attacked by the "telephone pole". The bloopers are a little treat for those that watch until the end.
      I can't wait to see the next episode of the GN in 1970.......seventy......

      @ThomasKlimoski  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Dean, Thanks for your comments. It is always good to hear from professional railroaders that I am doing things the right way. Hi, Thanks for your comments. I did not see the train hit the conductor until I was editing the video. Yeah, he must have taken a couple of hits on his chin before coming to work on the railroad. The tank car weathering was my latest project. I faded the red band with a thinned coat of light gray from my airbrush. I also airbrushed the road grime on the bottom of the cars. The reflective stripes are from Smoke box graphics, easy peel and stick and they look great.-Tom
