  • I actually didn’t find it all that hot, until about 3pm- then I wrapped up the log I was milling and called it a day… too hot now. But we made a day of it!
    Thanks for watching, Jeff

You're tougher than a boiled owl, working in this heat. Hope this day found you well and stay off the crack.

Yes Sir, a great neighbour is worth his weight in gold - I've got one too. He's from PEI and he's been threatening to move home but I sure hope he doesn't....

It was a scorcher for sure. Temps. Peaked at 35 humidex of 40. It’s great you have a wife that doesn’t mind doing your jobs. It helps productivity greatly. My wife is the same way. 😎👍

Wow, that’s a shame. I was watching & about jumped out of my chair when the blade came unglued. 😮😮 Sorry for your inconvenience. As Joe @ OWB would say, Have a great day. Dave D. from Maine.

I cut a load yesterday in this horrible heat. Came in and my clothes probably weighed 20 lbs. My wife had to pull my shirt off me. Too hot for a 72-year-old. I am going to wait for it to cool down. I try to do a little every day. At my age, you can't slow down, or life will run you over. That processor does a pretty nice job. I like your sawmill shed. It looks like it is just the thing to have with a mill. WOW, it really messed up that blade.

andy here from ontario. when you talk about keeping track of blade usage i have to tell you how i keep track. i have had my woodmizer lt40hd since 1997. (it is a 1988 model) and for the last 15years or so what i do is put a shipping tag on each blade and record what went on over its life. i do this based on mill hours on the metre. i write down if it hit anything or if anything odd happened. i record the hours used at each and every sharpening. when the blade breaks i record how many machine hours were on it when it broke. over the last 20 boxes or so my average is 11.5 to 12 machine hours before thety break.i have had 2 hours and i have had 25. what i do is look for trends. usually when they start breaking early there is a alignment /set-up /bearing etc issue that i can trace it to. hope this helps. 1st time commenter (sorry about the absenceof capitals

That sounds like quite a system! I was thinking of using an engraving pen near the weld.

I was talking to the Norwood rep at the heavy equipment show that was in Moncton. He was telling me that he likes their new stellicut blades. There's a stellulite tooth welded on every 3rd tooth. The blades cost more, but he claims the cuts are smooth and you get a lot longer between sharpenings

Great video. Too bad about the blade. Did it break where it’s joined. ? The rubber tire looks loose when you’re running the mill.
Cooler today, but the heat doesn’t bother me too much. I just soak it up for next winter. 🤭🤭
    Have a great Friday 👋👋👍🏻👍🏻
    Nice to have the help.

I run the blades till they break- sometimes it’s at the weld sometimes now. The tires are supposed to be a bit loose. They run great

You new belt looks like it may have a crown to it. Can you get flat top belts? My spares have a crown as well and I am a bit concerned that it will impact the tracking.

The blades track perfectly, I’m reluctant to change anything for fear of loosing what I have.

Did the blade break at the weld ?
