Loved this video Alyssa! I totally understand your misgivings with Threadneedle and Pendragon. No one needs endless descriptions of the manly parts. 😂 I’ve been wanting to read Ed Macdonald. I’m glad you liked the first book so well.
I do think you’d enjoy Ed McDonald’s series but I also have only read book 1 haha. And yah if I never have to read about Merlin’s manly bits again I’ll be a very happy girl. I don’t know why they thought that was a good idea haha

Oh if you like Among Thieves I might actually like it then, our tastes are pretty similar! And Fallout is top tier game haha!
McKillips covers are stunning. Also the Ravens Mark trilogy by Ed McDonald audiobooks are super good if you like audiobooks
Ohh I never tried his audiobooks, I’ll have to check them out when I go back to it! And McKillip’s covers are some of the best out there, I love them so much!
I have all three of the Ed McDonald series, but have never started it.. ...they just sit there collecting dust.....shadow of what was lost was really good
You should definitely move McDonalds book up, while I haven’t finished it I thought the first was really great! Fingers crossed I’ll feel the same with The Shadow of What Was Lost
I first read the Dragon Lance series when I was in Junior High, so they hold some nostalgic value for me. That being said, I get that they seemed a bit too D&D for you. They were written while they were designing the game.
It’s been a good many years, but as I recall, after the initial trilogy, they became a bit less D&D. But the influence will always be there. You should give them a few chapters, if you’re interested in Raistlin and Caramon.
I have heard that first book is the hardest to enjoy and since I own the complete Chronicles trilogy I haven’t decided if I want to continue on yet. I do know I’m taking a break from it for now. I knew they were D&D based but I didn’t think they where that heavily based on it but it makes sense since they were written alongside the game. A few others have told me the writing and pacing get better as it goes on, but ultimately I was really only ever interested in the Legends Trilogy, so it’s possible I’ll jump straight to that and then be done with Dragonlance as a whole.
@@intotheheartwyld both Weis and Hickman were more game designers than writers at the time. Their writing ability did grow over time. As for jumping straight to Legends, that could work for you. If you have questions, you always have the internet to help answer it for you. Love the videos. Keep up the good work!!
