As a DA survivor sometimes you have to run with nothing but the clothes on your back... Your life is worth more than nice clothes...... I don't know where she was but shelters do help you get nice clothes..
I'm so glad you left that man. He was a heartless jerk by the sound of it. I bet you looked wonderful the first time that you wore makeup. You are so wonderful and great. I mean this. You are one of the strongest people I know(well, kind of know). I deal with stress and anxiety, sure, not as bad as you, but your words have helped me through it. Sometimes I even lie in bed, tossing and turning, night and day, and I remember you and think, "Hey, at least I was never married to that man." Thank you for being such an influence in my life!
Such an amazing story of how you got free from that monster. I'm curious though about what ultimately happened to the husband for all the horrible things he did to you? I really really hope he's doing a very long prison sentence. Guys like that don't fair to well in prison once they're found out why they are in. Pretty much the equivalent of a child molester. But regardless he will have to answer for his actions before the Father, and he will be sent to a eternal punishment that is beyond human comprehension. I pray that you will be healed of this horrible tragedy and that you have peace in your life forever. God bless you and your family

I think it's best to escape when the abuser is not in the home.
Preferably when the abuser is at work.
