Se's not an idiot, she just didn't want to be in a relationship with him anymore. You're doing this to win her back for yourself, not because of her happiness.
Yeah, he's playing Lysander but he's definitely Demetrius here

Berke......Allison just found her boyfriend cheating on her with her best friend. Are you really feeling sorry for yourself now?
Yes, break-ups hurt. It's natural and understandable for you to be sad and angry about it. But I have to be honest with you. You've been really selfish. Allison was honest with you - she broke up with you when she didn't feel the spark in the relationship anymore, and she told you about it, upfront. She didn't cheat on you, she didn't lead you on, she didn't lie to you. Then after breaking up with you she met Striker and started dating him. Yes, he was a terrible choice of a next boyfriend, but it was still her choice and had nothing to do with you. And she found out on her own that he was a bad choice because he cheated on her. She kept her distance from you but whenever you two met she was civil, pleasant and honest with you. She never once called you anything like 'a hapless loser' and gave no indication that she thought you were that. She just didn't feel the same way anymore and wanted something different. But all you ever want to talk about is how you two broke up and how you want to get back together with her. Yes she was angry in this scene, she was hurt because of Striker and Maddie, and she was angry with you for always bringing up your relationship because she was trying to move on with her life. You didn't do anything for her, you did it for yourself because you wanted to get back to her and you thought that doing things like the school play would 'win' her back. And Kelly here, she has been there for you this whole time, there to talk about your feelings, there to talk about your problems, there to help you with your performance and the play. She's done these things because she cares about you, she's done these things for you. But you can't see beyond your own problems so you can't see this, in fact it's never even occurred to you.
I think that you think you're the Lysander of this story, that people all around you are stopping you from being with your love, saying "The course of true love never did run smooth". Or you think that you're the Helena of this story, desperately in love with and following an ex who told you "For I am sick when I look on you" to which you can only respond "And I am sick when I look not on you". But I think you're the Demetrius of this story, pursuing someone who has made it as clear as humanly possible that they don't love you and want you to leave them alone only for you to accuse them of being cruel for not returning your feelings, and being dismissive of (ok, in this case oblivious to) the fact that someone else loves you just as deeply in spite of your rejection and general lack of awareness of their feelings.
And right now a bit of me is thinking about some lines from the BBC's modern version of 'Midsummer Night's Dream' from 2006 in their 'Shakespeare Retold' miniseries from the Hippolyta character (Polly) to the Theseus character (Theo) when she finally has enough of being 'the calm one' to his 'angry one' in the relationship for over 20 years: "Because here is the news. We all feel angry! We all feel disappointed! But most of us just get on with it!"

Allison clearly didn't appreciate what she had in Berke until she started dating Striker. Striker looked great on paper - Tall, good-looking, European accent, boy bander, and theater/piano stud, but the more time that Allison spent with her new man, the more she realized how much she missed Berke, which was evident at 0:08 of this video. Once her new man and bestie screwed her over, Allison was ready to get back with Berke, as shown later in the movie during their school play.

@@mistercool3859 True. Doesn't change the fact that Berke was actually kind of self-centred throughout most of the movie and though he claimed to love Allison he seemed to have no regard for her feelings or her wishes. In any case, she didn't meet Striker until after she met Berke. And she never called him a loser or gave any sign that she thought he was a loser.

@@agenttheater5 You are right that Allison was rather sweet to Berke and never saw him as a loser. But Berke tried to everything in his power to get Allison back, even messing up his position on the basketball team. But Allison kept pushing him away. If someone who was with him for 16 months suddenly loses interest and moves onto to someone else, how else is Berke expected to feel? If someone ends a nearly two-year relationship with you, doesn't look back, and gets with another person, you are going to think that person sees you as a loser. Otherwise, why would that person leave you after being together so long? Why would she want someone else? I don't think that Berke was really self-centered. As he explained in the movie, he was just trying to get his girlfriend back. He wanted Allison to know that he was the right guy for her and that he wasn't ready to give up what they had.

@@mistercool3859 I suppose. But it still feels to me like he was doing all he did more for himself rather than for her.

@@agenttheater5 Love can be selfish. When you are in love, you want to retain that love. But in the movie, Berke was trying to get Allison to fall back in love with him again. There is nothing wrong with that, as long as her feelings for him genuinely return.
