I always had very complex feelings regarding this trial. The investigation is a slog but the initial crime and how it was influenced by different elements is very intriguing. I liked how the characters ran in circles because of how they perceive gender and the issues it brings with as well as how the murder scene was tempered with by another person to reveal someone's secret (which is admittedly fucked up). That topped with the tragic reason for the kill and how it perfectly potrays why emotional regulation is so important. It sucks that it's dragged down by the insensitive use of DID and gender perception. It's great that they ultimately showed how damaging toxic masculinity is for everyone but the way it was all handled initially and how they simply let someone touch the private parts of a dead person just to reveal it to everyone was horrible. You handled it all great Therm.
I do want to clarify that it explicitly states that Chihiro was actually a boy who cross dressed specifically because they were uncomfortable with their own masculinity, but they wanted to be comfortable being a boy. All the people who act like Chihiro was just trans are blatantly wrong because they would have way more dialogue about wanting to be more feminine, not more masculine.
like I wish Chihiro actually was trans, but that's asking a lot for a game this old. The fact that they even broke any gender stereotypes was progressive for the time.
But that feeling Chihiro was having is an accurate description of a trans feeling. That's what makes the gender identity of Chihirlo so polarizing to ppl
