Dear Gods, i used to knock back the brews, but if i drink 4 or 5 beers now ill have a hangover for days, dead the first day, undead the second, then just a headache for a day or two... just not worth the limited fun for that kind of long distance run of pain...
54 and I agree with everything you said but I’m happy I can keep moving just a little slower but can still do almost everything and yes I look 40 and I retired 3 months ago I want to enjoy what I worked so hard for
A lot of the comments are focusing on the booze- I never did drink that much and the beer and whisky I had tonight is about all I'd usually have at one sitting. Though some work outings have seen me do 5 drinks as recently as this past winter. No hangovers. OTOH, I always sleep poorly anyway and am always tired, so I guess that masks it with the shade of normalcy anyway. Been true since my 20s on and off.
