Tori isn’t my favourite character but she isn’t bad either, it’s nice to get more of an insight into her character
I would have loved for them to expand this idea, instead of just making her a side character that's only purpose is to watch and scream each time yuma gets hurt. She had the potential to be a good deep character but instead they just put her only good plot point into one ending. This is pretty disappointing

Remember when she only had to run to Yuma and give him the emperor key and she fucking fell while running and started crying while Yuma was fucking risking his ass?
Best ending of Zexal IMO. The emotion, animation, foreshadowing, lyrics, voice: all beautiful. I do we could've had more episodes committed to the relationship between Yuma and Tori/Kotori. I mean, we had episodes centred on Yuma's parents, how he met Bronk/Tetsu and all that but none on Tori. This is something that should've been established early in S1. How did Yuma and Tori meet? How long? What did she see in Yuma that made him likeable to her? Did Yuma do something so kind and passionate for Tori, that see became his first true friend and vise-versa to her. These are very important questions that the audience should know of when you write characters. I'm not hating this by any means but just saying I wish we could've gone more depth into their friendship and later potential romance. I've actually thought of an idea that in a Zexal movie for a potential YGO cinematic universe that the story would continue where the series left off: fighting the new crisis in Astral World. And in that movie (2 hours 15 minutes maybe), we have scenes committed to Yuma and Tori's new found relationship after she confessed her feelings in the final episode. This where we get flashbacks to their childhood together and then discuss their future after this is over. By the end of the movie, Chaos (the antagonist), retreats to spread his evil and corruption throughout the universe. Our heroes split into different fractions and travel through different points in time and dimensions thus setting up sequels and spinoffs. Before Yuma leaves, he and Tori have a tearful goodbye and she promises to become stronger to join Yuma in the fight to come as a duellist and more. Yuma promises to have their first real date once he returns. As he turns, She grabs Yuma's shoulder and kisses him. Yuma's shocked at first but starts kissing back. Their eyes close and hug in a loving embrace for about 30 seconds. Yuma, Astral, Kite, Shark, Rio, the Arclight brothers and Barian Emperors proceed with their Journey to stop Chaos and any other foes they face. They'll need new ally's too (protagonists from the others shows). Something along those lines. What do you think? Any other ideas?

I did not like zexal, at first. Note: I saw the dub premiere on cw4kids toonzai. I dropped it due to Yuma’s voice. Years later, after vrains was 1/2 finished, I made it my goal to binge all of the series in order. I did them in Japanese because my friend recommended I do so. I listened and was not disappointed. Though not my favorite, in terms of writing, I give zexal and DM the tie for my favorite soundtracks. I cannot say that I would have finished Zexal if it was not for the amazing music.
I regret skipping the endings of ZeXal. I was never a fan of anime endings, but the ZeXal endings have a lot of effort put into them, and Challenge the Game has very emotional scenes that fit with the episodes.
Anthony, what he means was, in Arc-V, Heartland was attacked by the Fusion Dimension and it's people were turned into a bunch of cards. (Which is pretty much saying that they're dead)
Arc-V includes characters from all series except DM, but all of these characters aren't the same and are alternate versions of themselves so Jack will never of met Yusei and etc. And the events of every series before hand never happened in their world.
That means she's worried for Yuma the entire time. She's not afraid of herself. She stays behind Yuma because she can't do anything to help, and Yuma is being protective to his friends.
arc v is the improvement of all yugioh series so far because it shows us all 5 special summoning methods that yugioh franchise introduced us like ritual, fusion, synchro, xyz and pendulum.
Yeah Zexal doesn’t really treats it’s that female characters that well, they are so underused, especially Anna and Rio. I thought the last arc/end was great; the ending is very Yuma-like, which I loved. Zexal overall does have its issues, but I did really enjoy, in fact it is my favorited series. Arc-V is heading there, but it lacks any interesting villains at the moment, and Yuya isn’t ‘my cup of tea’ (manga Yuya on the other hand is amazing!)

Well the thing about 5Ds: It was actually suppose to end after the Dark Signer Arc. But due to the high demand of 5Ds, they made more of it after the DS Arc. That explains why 5Ds was stale for an it after the DS Arc

Without a doubt one of the better ending credits themes of yugioh . Right there with 5ds and gx themes (sorry but tbh original yugioh openings and endings don’t have that same feel as the 3 I mentioned ) granted the first 3 had the best plot and zexal was meh
Tori is a better anzu in that Yuma trusts her completely and she is the only one who sticks with him through the very end when everyone else is dead. That is the reason why Yuma tells only her about the actual reason for his final duel with Astral. She should have gotten her number in the show though in Number 48: Fortune Tune and had that play some form of role in the story.

While I do prefer the dubs, there are things in the Japanese version that I do admit would look great in the dubbed versions.
Tbh they should do what some dubs do . Take digimon tri (as a example put the damn pitchforks down lmao) but yeah to keep the original openings and endings from the sub and add them into the dub it fits a lot better then you think . Gives you a nice mix of both
