Finally a refreshing take on humanity although I wish their was more then one Earth government perhaps 3 or 5 main powers apart of like a UN on earth but for Space
So Space humans just became the Swiss. LOL. Unconquerable. Unyielding. Wants to be left alone. Will have squabbles with each other, but will unite to destroy any opposing force no matter how great the cost. Will fight for a cost as mercenaries. If I were an alien checking out earth the first thing I would do is connect to the global information system and look for any information regarding human interactions with other aliens. I'm pretty sure this strategy would lead me to Mr Squerril or his compatriots quite quickly. Awesomeness is then guaranteed. :))
It's not an unlikely way for things to work, especially without FTL travel you can't hold a monolithic Empire together with travel times ranging from a handful of years to centuries
@@UNSCPILOT I think in this problem is not the lack of FTL travel (Wich I am pretty sure humans do posses in this universe) but rather the LOGISTICAL NIGHTMARE that must be rulling a huge ass empire like that. Not mention the after mention fact that Humans tend to quickly organize into groups and form strong bonds with those in the near vicity. Think about as how people hold more loyalty with a local authority than with an authority that is really far away. Those two facts combine makes keeping a centralized cohesive empire almost imposible. And even if you manage to do so it would eventually collapse and splinter into smaller factions, nations, states, confederations, corporations and so on and we will back to square one.
third prince has made a miscalculation. if the society is single leader bonded like that then the emperor will surely have several first class fleets under his personal bond and loyal to him directly if he is not a fool. and the count missed out the tendancy for Humans to sieze the opportunities created by chaos. and an alien civil war is a lot of chaos to take advantage of. the Corpos will take chunks out of the alien territory while whichever alien ends up on theoir throne.
This reminds me of two things. First is the Raj, the British occupation of India. Which, if I remember correctly was largely at the hands of the East indi trading company. I could see whatever company that gets hired would make sure that they are indispensable after the war, and then slowly gains more power until they control the government. The second it reminds me of is the story 'the tarren incident ' with the human corporation acting like the Ka'chax.
what faulty logic did they use to assume that just because the human territory was large that it therefore could not insure equal treatment. Especially when you consider the tech available that would basically make it a post scarcity society.

that is some master trader strategy and I love that someone thought of this story.
If you can’t control or conquer us. The next best thing is to then is to hire us. To get us to work for you by giving us something we want or need.
Or if you don’t wanna hire us then leave us alone
Or if you don’t want to leave us alone, fuck around and find out
Yes
Those sweet, sweet "space-bucks"
Lol, the old “if you can beat them, join them.”
And after the Count finishes his hiring trip: "Why do these humans keep referring to me as 'Count Chocula'?"

The Prince took the lessons to heart as a duck to the water.
Now we shall see if he truly understands the depth of this water.
As long as he stays at the top of the water, and doesn't try to immerse himself in it (read: interfere), he shouldn't have any problems.
Or the predators lurking beneath the surface.
Third Prince almost understands humans. Once he betrays them they will unleash a level of hell he didn't know existed.

Not sure about the corporations' sizes, but otherwise seems pretty realistic, given the expansive territory

Humanity: HAIL HYDRA!.
Aliens: What???.
Humans: Kill one of us and a thousand will spring in its place!.
Hydra is by far the worst organization to hold a high position in if you value your life. Good thing no one in hydra actually cares.
Hope it pans out better for Prince Traila than it did for Artaxerxes
