I’m essentially the only person that listens to me playing… and play occasionally… I’ve been using the pocket pod for 10 years now, I downloaded a number of user made tones, you have way more options on the PC interface, I found the “Poison Solo” preset, tweaked it a bit and never looked back… enough for my self enjoyment a few minutes onde in a while
That was my immediate thought as well once I heard the tone. Just yesterday I dusted off my Pocket Pod to try with an IR on Mooer Radar and it sounded 100% better and not too dark at all.
This thing was ahead of it time, it was the first fully portable unit, i still have one built like a Nokia 3310, i also have almost 6 years later boss katana go and fender micro plus... They are all unique experiences. i will never sell this no matter how much you want it. ;)
I bought one of these back in 2012 for $30 to use while playing wuth a rock band on parade floats lol. Worked well for that but never seemed to match the quality of the line 6 pedal boards or even the larger Pod.
I bought it to play guitar with my headphones while I was away on business trips. It worked good for that matter, just hooked up my iPod and jammed along with the songs I was learning of the band that I joined at that time.
Yup, I used to have one of these and the main thing I remember was that I could never get that slightly 'brighter' and 'bite-ier' sound that I was looking for. It got close-ish, but never quite there. It always sounded muddy and muffled. I ended up selling it for some weed money at some point later, lol.
That's it. With even more presets. It doesn't sound "different". In fact, is a little better. The thing is the interface is anything but friendly. That's all.
If guitarists hate on it... it must be good!!

Yeah, put almost any pedal with a volume control before any pod, drive the input hot and the distorted sounds improve quite a bit 🎉
6:47 Did you not disable the Pod's internal cab sim before outputting to Wall of Sound? It sounds like you could be double-cabbing.

I think I need this. Looking for something to keep at work in my locker.
Thanks for reassuring that selling my Pocket Pod was a great decision. You deserve a big like.

I love the pocket pod I have one I use for basic delay and trem effects
For home practice this pod is very good
Actually it was released in 2007, not 2001 like you said

I like the mini POD. It takes some effort to figure out how to use it. I prefer the old kidney POD
Isn’t it just a smaller version of the pod 2.0?

Can you also connect it via USB to a DAW?
Good vid but the buzz from your guitar strings sounds like it needs to be addressed
Lol , I don’t think he gives a shit lol.
Sounds cheap. My 40 year old $35 Arion sdi-distortion pedal sounds much better.
The pocket pod sounds like a big pile of garbage. Wasted money big time.
It sounds as you tweak it, tweak better
yes it sucks, why reviewing stuff that has been reviewed already by other people, but hey
