One unpacking advice from an Air Force wife that moved a lot and did alot of settling in. Put all your boxes in the garage or an empty room and pull out one box at a time to unpack. That way you are not overwhelmed by lack of space and clutter. This will help you also have that sense of accomplishment . You can stack boxes in order of rooms so you can focus on one room at a time. Hope this helps😊

Hi Michelle , there are plants that keep mosquitoes away. You can plant Citronella often labeled as “mosquito plants”.
Lavender oil's fragrant smell can help deter mosquitoes by preventing them from locating hosts. Other plants are Marigold, Rosemary, Lemon, mint, peppermint, sage thyme, & basil.☺️
Love what you've done with the new place! So exciting. For the guest room, as someone who hosts family a lot, it's usually nice to have a small chair and if possible desk/vanity situation as opposed to a full dresser. Just a thought, but I know whatever you do will look great!

Y'all should look at getting your backyard sprayed for mosquitos! There are a lot of companies that use natural remedies that deter them rather than kill them. We used barefoot in Austin, but I think they're all over! 10/10 would recommend

For the sofa shedding: I would recommend a fabric shaver, I have a cat and a dog and this tool works wonders, leaves my sofa looking brand new. I have the Phillips one but I’m sure there is a ton of options in the market, hope it helps! 🤗

Natural bug spray recommendation-vanilla extract!
I haven’t done it before because I don’t need it where I live but I’ve seen from others that this has worked wonders!
You could spray or rub it on your exposed areas.
i really like bug soother bug spray! it has natural ingredients and works well
Citronella is an essential oil and a natural bud repellent!!! You can find brands online who make it or you can easily DIY! Just need a spray bottle, carrier oil (fractionated coconut oil is good), and citronella essential oil.
Lavendar essential oil works so well as natural bug repellant!!

The hello bello bug spray works well and it’s just essential oil. We just used it on a camping trip and came home with no bites.
I use Revive’s Bugs Away and it works really well. It’s all essential oils so it’s completely safe. There’s also lots of other non-toxic bug sprays out there too.
Maybe get a citrenella candle outside as well, but I am not sure if its safe, so double check! Love that you are settling in! xoxo
Boys are the best! My boy was born Nov 14th last year. He will be almost exactly one year older than yours! Glad that I get to grow up with you and my boy get to grow up with your boy too ❤

For bug spray, i've been seeing ads for Zevo which sounds like a good option, but you'd have to look into it more.

Buzz away and primally pure has non toxic bug spray - look in targets baby section too!
You can also use essential oils like tea tree, peppermint, lavender, lemongrass, spearmint and sweet orange!
Try the lemongrass & coconut body oil from Trader Joe’s as a more natural mosquito repellent!! Mosquitos don’t like lemongrass! It’s not perfect, but it’s a much less harsh option that does help a bit ☺️

I heard that if you grate Irish Spring Bar soap, and just drizzle it outside by doors or patio mosquitoes will stay away…

I’ve been told lavender essential oil is a good bug repellent! Add a few drops to a damp cloth and rub it all over your body☺️ Also, congrats on your new home! It is so adorable! ❤

For bug issue: if you know someone who sells NuSkin, I love using the Boab Body Butter! It’s a vanilla scented lotion with an ingredient that mosquitoes seem not to like! I use it on myself and my toddler and it works like a charm!
A fabric shaver from Amazon. It’ll take forever but works great for pilling!
Peppermint oil for bugs!! Put some in a spray bottle with water. Also put plants on your porch that repel mosquitos. Look into the best ones, a lot of herbs are good.

I recently heard that Vanilla extract is supposed to work amazing as a bug repellent! I haven’t tried it myself, but I love finding natural alternatives! ☺️
If you go to whole foods they have non toxic bug sprays that are made with essential oils. They work great for me but you may just need to apply more often. ❤

You can get a "sweater shaver" for the pilling on your couch
Kinfield has a natural bug spray that doesn't smell very strong! I bought some recently, but haven't had the chance to use it yet, so I'm not sure how well it works. But it's an option!! 💛
Badger has great bug spray and is all non toxic. Also use their sunscreens
Avon skin so soft, amazing used in costa rica and not one mosquito bite

I had a thought - you may want to have the ducts cleaned before baby arrives! Really really helps with allergies and dust. With rentals who knows how long it's been since that's been done. the owner may split it with you since it benefits them too!

Vets Best Flea and Tick Spray is all natural and works for mosquitos too! It’s the only thing I use. I also really like the smell, cloves, fall type scent!
