imagine being that good at improv that you can just take your own band in various directions and they can still catch up and understand what's happening
In fact, the most recent Europe tour had a lot more jamming and improvisation, they're really stepping up their game. Already excited for future tours, especially the upcoming red rocks and caverns sessions
The holy grail would be for video of this quality for the entire live album. It would go down in music history as a monument. If the video exists, this HAS to become a reality.
They should make another movie with the red rocks performance, I mean 86 tracks spanning like 8 hours and after listening to the album over numerous days, they’re just one of the best bands to ever exist

Thank you. Finally a deadhead who gets it!! I went to their boogie/rats nest tour back in 19' and it is still the best concert I've ever been to, the sound was perfect you could hear everyone and their set ran for an hour and like 30-45 mins. My special friend Lucy was there that night so that was a bonus. As well as made me thought that Gizzard might be secretly jam band. Like they guy strucker like frank Zappa, but they also like to have fun exploring in a noodle.

He almost always refused to let someone else take the lead and didn't know when to end a solo. When actually playing with competent musicians, this wasn't as much of an issue but in The Grateful Dead, no one made an effort.
