I love how it sounds like it’s just repeating things it’s victims said, but without understanding them. Like a parrot
I kinda interpret it as a way to lure in victims. Notice how the voice lines beckons people to come to it. Spooky stuff 👁👁

Not just cuz that means you're playing him well but it's also such a genuine laugh you weirdly feel that glee rub off on you. I haven't played the ptb but even watching killer perspective unknown is scary sometimes like with the mori
What’s really cool that doesn’t really get shown here is that when you’re under the weakened effect of UVX his voice lines becomes nearly completely normal sounding for you instead of clearly inhuman

Homestly to me, there is a oddly charming festure ahout him. With that smile & turn and the way he seams to 'prance' when going around. Silly guy
He's the most scary killer but he's also a bit silly which is so wildly effective for making him likeable, at least to me. Like he isn't any less scary, in fact he's still probably the scariest killer, but he's just goofy enough that he's somehow both endearing and horrifying simultaneously
Yes, ikr?!? I don't find him creepy at all. To me, he is adorable in the way he walks and trys to be polite about killing people lol
there’s a child-like demented innocence in his actions, like he’s smart enough to do the action, but dumb enough to not know he’s hurting someone. Think of the Pyro from Team Fortress 2; demented psychopath on the outside, but through his warped view on the world, literally thinks he’s creating sunshine and rainbows

They did a good job with the design and lore of this character. Leaving almost everything on this thing up to interpretation was a good idea.

With creatures like this I think the animators still stick too closely to real human movements. I feel like a creatures like this should move in the most efficient way possible without regard for the actual purpose of a body part. The pallet break is pretty good at this, but another example could be when it swings the axe the arm bends like a whip to get more force in, going against the limits of the elbow joint.
This is a really good point, I was hoping for more quirky movements like the last animation, but the moves are sorta basic

eh, that would just make it look goofy at that point. the creepiness comes from the uncanny valley and how he's supposed to look and be human but he's just not, but we don't know what else to call him. giving him a random super bendy arm instead of his joints popping anyway he wants wouldn't give it them same effect

It reminds me of that one episode of Supernatural featuring something called a Tulpa where thought and belief causes the monster to change and adapt based on what new lore was created about it from urban legends. Like the unknown is just the physical manifestation of a bunch of different ideas of what people came up with
his voicelines reminds sounds like hes just mimicking voices of his past victim, kinda creepy

snuff boom totem is the same as hatch close, and head on/blast mine are just slowed down pallet stuns

Now that I’m seeing him more, he moves very erratically that he reminds me of Terry Akers and the flesh puppets from SOMA. Wouldn’t be surprised if they took some inspiration from him for his movement.

When it comes to the theories behind his origin that range from alien species to government experiment to some sort of spirit, I think the Unknown has potential for interesting skin ideas.
It's walking speed and the distance it covers with a seemingly lumbering gait is horrifying. It really is like he hasn't fully uploaded to the reality he is currently in. He looks like what people look like when they walk on the moving walkway in airports.

At first I thought the UVX launcher emerging from Unknown's throat rather than its mouth was an odd choice, but I came to really appreciate it. The fact that its head cranes back and goes limp once the weird fleshy bit comes out but the Unknown can still see/track survivors perfectly well leans into the fact that the Unknown isn't what we see on the outside, but the unseen monster inside, piloting the body like a puppet. Its "face" serves no purpose other than to mess with its victims, and it reminds me of real decoys found in nature; like how a centipedes backmost segment resembles its head to trick its attackers, how some moth/butterfly species have large, predator-like eye pattern on their wings to scare off predators, or how there's a species of snake whose tail resembles a spider, which it uses that to lure hungry birds right into its grip
I feel bad for the unknown, he seems aware he was taken against his will and seems to be begging for help every other dialogue

all of his cries for help are used to lure people in, like a skinwalker or something. the fact that he does it even in chase though gives me the sense that he’s mocking the survivors. if there was any killer to feel bad for, it wouldn’t be this guy lmao. still love him tho
The begging for help thing is an act. It drops the facade during it's mori and lobby animation, which reveals that it's actually a pretty evil and ancient monster that enjoys what it's doing.

I think its lore mentions a thing called “project apple pie” which was about unethical human mind control experimentation. I think The Unknown is possibly a victim of this, I think whatever it is was originally a human who got tested on for project apple pie and then ended up as this abomination. It explains the fact it looks sort of like a human and how it’s able to use tools like a fire axe.
