Oh I love that we collabed and still did not do the same thing haha. This pretty much sums up how my December is going so far 😝 Still cannot wait to hear this cuz GURL, you were so SPOT ON last year, woho! :D (and thank you for collabing with me gorg!)
A ColourPop and Broadway collab….I’d die! I was so thankful for the HipDot Hanukkah collection. While not really anything I would wear, I purchased it as a gift to support a company who finally showcased a holiday other than Xmas. They’re only mistake was that it was released after the 1st night; last night was the 8th night and it still hadn’t arrived. Thank you for making this Gen X’er not feel so old in loving clean/cruelty free makeup.
I think your predictions are very well thought through. My predictions: 1. More brands are coming with spf or add spf in their make-up or skincareproducts 2. Sex and the city collab. Such an iconic series and they're doing a relaunche soon. 3. Make-up brands focusing on ether k-pop or k-beauty. Before it was mainly focused on skincare. I think make up is following.
Hopefully the ND Retro Glam palette will be the Retro palette we were all hoping for-more cool toned with those grungy, earthy greens and blushing pinks!
As someone with oily skin, I am excited about the prediction that we are moving toward matte skin! (Although it is very easy for me to achieve the glowy look 🤣) I think after the skin tint boom, people are going to be really used to lightweight and low coverage products. I’m hoping then that we get more foundations that are super lightweight and thin, but still have a more matte finish. I feel like there are not many products on the market like that. The Dior face and body and Fenty eaze drop are some of the only ones that come to mind.
As a fellow oily skinned girl I so agree! I’m excited at the thought of the lightweight trend pushing toward matte foundations! It would be the best of both worlds. I hate that matte often translates to thick and heavy. I just want more thin, lightweight, skin-like matte finishes and there just aren’t many options.
Catrice trueskin hydrating foundation is matte lightweight and build able.... I'm not sure what its like on oily skin as I have dry skin year round and normally don't like matte foundations but I seen a review and repeat use by Emily Noel so I got and it works great
@@meepmoopmeep1 no problem 😊 it also mixes well with other foundations... when they shade matched me at the drugstore they matched it too light so I mix my light one with rimmel stay matte and they work beautifully together, I also haven't had any issues with different primers underneath of it as well , though a glowy primer will make the foundation look super glowy/dewy like finish
Idk about collabs with Broadway shows but if someone did that it would make sense because a lot of shows have struggled to get back to where they were in 2019 and early 2020 regarding revenue and licensing would help with breaking even. I would be down for a Wicked and Phantom of the Opera collections ❤️
I am almost never ever tempted by thematic collections but a Broadway something would pull on my purse strings SO HARD. I’d probably jump in feet first. 😂
I think Colourpop will do more collabs with Cartoon Network properties since Nickelodeon is considered Disney’s rival. I hope they do a Totally Spies collab! Colors would be green, red and yellow
To milani cream bronzers - I WOULD LOVE THAT. Their cream blushes in the pans are my favorite cream blush formula and I would absolutely love a cream bronzer formula from them!
I think along with matte skin the tumblr-2013-soft-grunge makeup will come back. Thick winged liner and a bold lip because of the nostalgia and hopefully fewer masks.
Light makeup has been the trend because of mask wearing but I think as Covid (hopefully) goes away we will slowly see the trend go back to more coverage. I think it’ll be slowly so like go to medium and up from there later.
Natasha Denona made a video when the retro midi palette was released and she said that this was not the end for the “retro” line and that people who were missing the greens may have something to look forward to 👀
I would LOVE to buy a broadway collab palette! I’m so excited to see which of these predictions come true. You were so on target with a lot of these from last year!
I’d like an Anastasia collab with Colourpop. I love that movie and since Fox is owned by Disney, I’d love her to get a palette inspired by her dresses or the settings like her in Paris!
I think Natasha Denona answered in a comment once that she is going to do another Midi Retro that is going to lean more into the green side of her Mini Retro palette. Maybe this could be the Retro Glam palette? I am really excited to see which of your predictions will come true in 2022 ☺️
If colourpop does either wicked, beetlejuice or cats, I'm buying the full collection no questions asked. Fireball was also a big single shadow, so maybe UD will do a throwback collection, bringing back big things that were discontinued at some point in their reformulations. I want them to bring back more colorful lipsticks, and I think that if masks decrease in use, bold lipsticks and odd colored lipsticks will come as a microtrend
This video is so fun Kelly !! Here's what i think : 1. Time for matte/satin skin tint or tinted moisturised bcs theres a lot of glowy ones now 2. Perhaps cool tones all mattes eyeshadow palette ? I mean theres a lot for warm tone and cool tone is what trendy right now 3. Then maybe more brands will come out with more of topper shades/duochromes/multichromes so thats where the single shadow coming back 4. Would love to see Kosas with baked blush formula since they seems to be good with their powder formula 5. Maybe a more bluish colour scheme for UD naked ? Pretty sure they havent went that route yet
I didn’t get into my 30’s to care about trends. Trends definitely don’t work on every body shape, etc which is why we all look back and realize how silly we looked. BUT, I do have fun trying new things. I’m not giving up the things that work best for me, like dewy foundation/skin tints for my dry, dull skin
I wonder if we'll get more cream to powder products or watery/gel products that really dry down, since cream products have been very popular lately. like a marriage between a more matte look and the ease of cream products.
I love your prediction videos!!! I’m still hoping for the UD Naked Moss or a green inspired palette from them 😍🙌🏻 Very interesting predictions and I really trust that a lot of these we will see!! Like you said, trends tend to go back and forth between extremes and we know what was once old becomes new again 💖💖💖
as someone who has dark brown/almost black but not quite hair, dark brown mascara looks the best on me as it’s so seamless! the maybelline snapscara is my fave, a perfect dark brown - and they also make a cherry burgundy and i think a navy too! also really hoping matte skin isn’t going to be the main trend again but with masks the staying power is prob attractive. tbh surprised setting sprays havent been having more of a moment the last couple years!!
I have always struggled with a side part and my stylist told me your best side part is directly straight up from the side of your nose. And it absolutely has helped me to get it right.
I heard the collective scream from all the theatre kids when you said "Broadway collab" 😂 honestly though, very unique idea and I would love to see original color stories created for each show
I agree with so many of these! I really think 2022 will be the year of the makeup artist brand vs 2021 being the celebrity brand year. Katie Jane Hughes, Ash K. Holm, Donni Davy, Makeup By Ariel, etc. With the success of Makeup by Mario and Danessa Myricks, I think a lot of classic celebrity makeup artists will come out with their own lines. (I also think we could see this with dermatologists and skincare, particularly medspa-type brands but being sold in Sephora).
I think colourpop should do a collegiate collab. I could totally see that being really popular. Like 9 pans for different universities. They could do it during football season in the fall.
I think it will be rather Wheel of time/Witcher or some Sarah J. Maas book related makeup collection. Hoping for something interesting and thought through not just slap themed packaging on the pre-made boring stuff.
I think your right about what a lot of the next trends will be i think really folks are just gonna be mixing there fave looks from all the different huge makeup booms from each era(very 60s like unique eyeliner looks, very 90s/meets 2004-2011 smokey eyes but like you said very brown and matte, foundation will go from sheer to light coverage back to medium but breathable skin finish or soft matte, very early 2000s level of intense blush will stay just with modern day makeup techniques and the correct shade matches )
I didn’t get to enjoy the dewy trend properly since it was going on during the pandemic and I didn’t do much makeup. So the great thing getting older is the trends don’t really matter to me so I’ll stick with dewy. I was doing the blush on the nose when it wasn’t cool, so I’ll still do it when it’s back to being uncool haha. The matte sculpted look will not look great on my aging skin as I’m older so I’ll still embrace my glowy skin lol
I am hoping and praying for Urban Decay to do a Naked Smokey mini after their success with the mini 3 🤞 I can’t wait for the Natasha Denona releases! I also still hope for an Office collaboration!
I think a middle part with a cowlick is pretty flattering on many faces; yours is very flattering. But I am ready to celebrate the side part! I’m just glad the silver hair trend is 100% done even in the Midwest and I can tell it is because people have finally stopped asking me who colors my (naturally) silver hair. 😂 Now I want a Funny Girl palette and a Toy Story palette. I’m not a lipstick person but I would buy a Britney gloss or lip tint collection. I think someone good should work with her on an entire color collection. I love your predictions! 🤞🏻🙏🏻
I’m very interested in medium coverage with natural/satin finish. I’m not a matte or either matte or dewy. I’m 50, and either extreme ages me. Love from the spooky Pine Barrens in NJ
I don't do my nails but for years I've thought that a French tip where the bottom of the white (closest to the nail bed) is a squiggly line would look super cute and interesting. Especially if the tip was a color other than white and maybe even if the nail bed color wasn't a nude. And it's cartoon network instead of nickelodeon but "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends" would be SUCH an awesome collab! Bright colors and fanciful characters, what more do you need?
I would love to see a Broadway/ ColourPop collaboration. Could they maybe think of Hadestown? I would definitely buy that. And a Fairly Odd Parents collection with Makeup revolution would be adorable. Also thrilled with the side part coming back. A middle part does nothing for me, personally. So the side part and maybe a Cinnamon Brown hair color, which is close to my natural color would be great.
i hope you're spot on for a few things, because some of what you said is definitely me. the past couple years with the lighter foundations and skin tints has been my dream, that's all i've ever wanted. i don't particularly like the feeling of foundation all over my face, and just want my complexion evened out, so that has been great for me. and then i'm also someone with sparse, lighter eyebrows, and lashes that are pretty long, but they're very light. black often looks far too harsh and i prefer a more natural look. i would LOVE to see a lot of brown mascara versions of mascaras i like. that smokey, neutral look is also the direction i have always preferred to take, i think it's far more flattering on me, and also suits my personal style and aesthetic. i'm pretty excited to see it become popular because then there will be more tutorials and creativity that will help me.
I read somewhere that Natasha has hinted at a green palette in 2022, and considering the grey-green in the original Retro Mini, I think Retro Glam will be some muted greens - khaki, olive, more grey-green in different depths. Hopefully in a midi.
My hair wears itself as a middle part and side parts are beautiful too! I enjoy a side part when my hair had layers fluffier but now i let my hair go with what it wants
Also, re the matte skin thing, apparently Korean skin care/makeup trends have moved onto matte skin for the past 1-2 years and I feel like western trends tend to follow Korean trends a couple of years later.
I cannot hold myself back... That flower that keeps on moving in the background drives me insane. It's the second video I've seen it and it keeps distracting me from your awesome videos 🤣😅
A black French tip is my signature nail. I will also do a colored French tip (especially red for the holidays!) Fingers crossed for less editing and photoshopped images! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
My predictions: I don't think we're done with skin tints and glowy natural face yet. I could see it becoming slightly more late but also, I can see it going even more sheer (like just smoothing primer and moisturizer). I think more brands are going to come out with face primer (not only drugstore but also indie and high end). A kind of primer to blur not really to grip products. I can see celebrities like Olivia Rodrigo, Conan Gray or Doja Cat eventually getting their own make-up brands. Doja Cat would be more Spacey theme, but with bright pops like orange, pink, purple, magenta... Conan and Olivia, I see it more as minimal make-up (single eyeshadow, tint for the lips and cheeks, face tint maybe). I do think we'll continue to see the soft smokey eyes but not only in light brown, I can also see it becoming popular with greenish (almost swampy) eyeshadow, but always in that lighter sheer style. I can also see single eyeshadows eventually getting popular, not o muchas as mandado, I think it would be more in components. Also, I don't know why but I can visualize some Valentine releases shifting to the "broken hearts" theme (with more vampy red and purple, maybe pop of black, white and even magenta and a really bright pink). I see more celebrities coming out with skin care stuff, and some Nickelodeon and makeup revolution collab.
Cheers for the side part. My head must not be symmetrical because a center part does not look great on me. A side swept bang changed the way I style my hair forever
I totally see a multi stick coming from kosas. Current ones that have really good reviews are the Live TInted Huestick and the Mango People Multi stick. Would be cool to see comparisons
A similar product to the bite multi sticks are pretty much anything from nudestix line! I love their all over face color sticks and the matte eye color sticks. I believe they have blushy colors too.
I missed you ! I just realized I didnt have the bell on for notifications and have missed seeing your videos for a few weeks now !! Now to watch the video....
I am 2 minutes into the video but I have to say I love you both! :) And I am really glad you did this collab with Angelica, I am really curious about her oppinion too. Yesterday I have tried to think through what I would say the main trends will be in 2022. It was a fun game! Thank you for the idea!
Naked Fireball is the name of their highlighter that looked orange pinkish and I think the single eye shadow might have existed before that. I wonder if they’ll come out with a full pallet full of peach tones and copper tones. I have to say that highlighter is still my favorite to this day and the one I reach for the most because I’m super fair and it kind of works as a blush highlight.
Oh I love that we collabed and still did not do the same thing haha. This pretty much sums up how my December is going so far 😝 Still cannot wait to hear this cuz GURL, you were so SPOT ON last year, woho! :D (and thank you for collabing with me gorg!)
Hahaha I was thinking the same thing about my December!! Thank you, Angie!! I always love when we collab!
When I watched Angie video and she said she collab with Kelly. I was a bit confused cause the video Angie did, Kelly did yesterday lol 😝
I loved your collab too!! I think it should be an annual tradition cause you’re both so good at it!!
Aah I knew it was Angie! 😆🎉

Yessss!
Agree!
My face and hair line isn’t symmetrical. A middle part makes that much more evident, so I always have a side part.
@@crystallineautumn me too!
Xer here. Side part since 1996...
My vote for a broadway show collab would be Moulin Rouge. That was the last broadway show I caught way back in 2019. Brings back good memories ❤️

I read somewhere that Natasha has hinted at a green palette in 2022, and considering the grey-green in the original Retro Mini, I think Retro Glam will be some muted greens - khaki, olive, more grey-green in different depths. Hopefully in a midi.
I would love more brown mascara! I'm super pale, so black looks very severe on me. I prefer brown or even brown black for a more dramatic eye.

Also, re the matte skin thing, apparently Korean skin care/makeup trends have moved onto matte skin for the past 1-2 years and I feel like western trends tend to follow Korean trends a couple of years later.

I don't think we're done with skin tints and glowy natural face yet.
Love the idea of Broadway themed pallets! That would be amazing! ❤️ Also I want The Office themed collaboration!
These videos are so fun! I love that you do this I don’t know any other beauty you tubers that do anything similar, really cool
A phantom of the opera collection 🤩 that would be amazing
I just love seeing my favorite youtubers collab together so much fun.
Yes i see more celebrities coming out in makeup and skincare.
Thank you, Janee!
I could see colourpop doing a university collection. Using school colors for palettes
I LOVE THESE VIDEOS FROM YOU i was waiting for it!!! and omg FAIRLY ODD PARENTS WOULD YES BE SOOOOO GREAT!!!
You’re hair looks gorgeous! Loving the colour ☺️
I think that the new Naked playback is gonna be a pastel palette for spring 🌈
Cheers for the side part. My head must not be symmetrical because a center part does not look great on me. A side swept bang changed the way I style my hair forever
I totally see a multi stick coming from kosas. Current ones that have really good reviews are the Live TInted Huestick and the Mango People Multi stick. Would be cool to see comparisons
I love your makeup detective work! Always fun when you do videos diving into the trademarks that brands are filing!
I think Elf will launch the Putty Highlighter ✨
Would love to see a Pretty Woman Collection, bold lips and eyebrows matte skin 😍
I think retro glam could be a large palette as a mashup since they did the middie ones for each individual
Pastels are hot for spring. Makeup palettes and all
I’m with you!!! I want Milani to come out with a cream bronzer!
These predictions sound so much fun! I can't wait to see what comes true.
Damn Angie was right that you have some verrrry specific predictions 🤩 super fun!
