- We took Peter Pakula, one of the best and most famous fisherman Australia has ever produced, out on a Haines Hunter 565 R-Series to see what he has to say about one of the most established and well-known Fibreglass Boat brands in Australia.
I bought a v19r in 1995 with a 175hp on it and still have today in 2023 love it.They were hard to find in 1995.

Interesting! I used to work for Haines Hunter, years ago, with the well respected Ben Hipkins, I will never forget the newly created 470 at the time, and joking with Ben, that "were not building a tank"! Would love to know where he is now.
Ben is one of the many legendary craftsman than made Haines Hunter into the iconic brand it is.
I’ve always had a Haines Hunter after buying my first 445C back in the 80s , have a 535 now and looking for a 600R now.

Love this. What is the difference between the 565R and the 535 sport fish?

The 565 are 100k plus way bigger 150hp real offshore things tandem trailers
The 535 is high 60k 90 to 115 hp do it all just not as comfortably
If you can afford the 565 go for it otherwise 535

I was at Melb boat show and they had a 565 and two 585s. The 565 looked massive and tough as. They didn't have a 535 sport fish to compare but thanks for explaining that

Haines hunter are an iconic brand which has no equal in Australian
