I agree with what you’re saying, I’d just add that using exposure compensation (with Auto ISO) is a great way to control your overall exposure

fully agree, possibly a topic for another tutorial video because I use that functionality as well. just didn't want to complicate the concepts further

On canon cameras, According to what I know (maybe I’m wrong).... the option to link metering to active af point is available only on the 1d series
