Needless to say my teen years were tempestuous. I remember one night I decided that, this was it I was tired of it all. Feelings of immense grief and hopelessness, I was drowning in my sorrows. Than night stand in the dark crying, that is where God brought joy to my heart. I was just laughing for no reason, if God did not step in, I don't know if I would be here today. This is a song for and of all ages because it speaks to the power of God and the hope you find in him. When the singer says "I use to cry myself to sleep, so gone I couldn't find me". She sings the secrets of my life story, God told her my business. There was a point I asked the lord, if he was going to let my mother die and I don't see her again. "But in the midst of the dark God came rushing. I am here because he never gave up on me." It is my belief that this song was written for me and for others like me. I just want to say to those who are like I was. It may seem dark now, like there is no tomorrow. There is no shadow God can't light up, the darkest part of the night is just before day comes. Hold fast to God's unchanging hand, he is your hope. You are his and you do not have permission to throw in the towel or call it quits. He as not given up on you, so don't give up on yourself.
