You should do more of this. Something from nothing is my favorite topic. I work at a nursery and get the throwaways all the time and you give me inspiration.
Peter, I would like to offer my opinion on your comment that you have always thought your voice to be boring: I actually find your voice to be soothing & relaxing! I love your videos for that as well as your information & expertise on bonsai care, etc...thank you so much !
Thank you Peter, I have learned so much; I also learned not to discard any cuttings. I thoroughly enjoyed your video and I am very thankful that there are people like you who take all the time to teach people like me! 🙏😊
Again a great learning session. Thank you Peter. But you shouldn't worry about advertisement. Due to your videos i decided to order new trees from your nursery and each of them arrived healthy and well packed. And until this day they are all healthy and vigorous. Thanks Guru Peter... I'm always recommending these videos on Facebook bonsai groups as people constantly post a pic of a new tree they've bought or been given and ask what they should do with it. Even though I've been doing this for a few years I learn something every time I watch one, and they've been great during winter nights while I work on my trees, and Covid lockdowns.
Thank you sir for your knowledge. I really enjoy working with trees. Hope to one day have a nursery like yours here in Washington state USA. Just absorbing information and trying not to kill every tree I work with. You have been a great help.
@@markn3586 can you suggest a nursery in Seattle? My family will be there in a few days, and I thought they might find me a tiger bark ficus, Can't find them here in Minnesota

You have provided many happy hours of entertainment and encouragement for me while I am learning all I can about the art of bonsai. Thank you for being such a creative and practical teacher
I just got 8 of these trees in a Lidl supermarket for 20 euros (2,5 each). I bought them because a saw this video a few months ago and boy that I'm going to follow your instructions Mr. Chan! Thanks a lot
You've been doing a great job shooting these, Peter! It's nice to have a stable tripod shot for this longer form demo and smaller form factor. Understandably for your bigger trees, it's impractical to bring the material to the camera for closer inspection... but I feel it works rather well in this case. Thank you for the demo!
I can see the true passion while teaching bonsai. I have been watching lots of videos to start making one. Yours has definitely given me a lift to start. Thankyou so much for your humble teaching .
these plastic pots are great. They´re cheap, they give you an idea of how it´ll look like in a ceramic pot and they´re deep enough so they don´t slow down the growth too much. I know, as a beginner you usually want instant results but patience is one of the most important thimngs in Bonsai. You can get a nice ceramic pot when the tree is more refined. I grow my young mame and shohin bonsai in joghurt cups, cream cheese packages and noodle soup cups. They get nice pots when they´re more refined.
I am so glad to have stumbled upon your videos. Bonsai is something I have been wanting to try for some time and you make it very accessible. I have four trees going right now (three Chineese juniper and a Japanese Boxwood) and sculpting/ caring for them has been an absolute joy. Thank you!

Mr. Chan, don't worry about the long videos. Very interesting and very informative. It would be nice to see a video on just root development of various trees with various root systems.
