I guess he's Eligood this time, especially that dragon battle..

If you actually look deep enough into his statline, Eliwood is basically a nerfed version of a male paladin. Their caps are awfully similar. Yeah, AWFULLY.
Just for 2 bonus strength cap, Eliwood sacrificed the usage of axes, 1 movement, 2 Def, and he even had lower Con compared to the other paladins. Even the 2 extra strength doesn't amount much when axes have higher might than lances. His only redeeming feature for the awful caps is the ability to wield Durandal.
Eliwood's middling issue doesn't allow him to stand out much, when comparing to the other 2 lords. If you want to dodge or double efficiently, use Lyn. If you want to rely on one-shotting enemies with a great physical bulk to tank hits instead of relying on dodges, use Hector instead. Even lances have that middling issue, compared to swords/axes.
Do note that I don't hate paladins, nor Eliwood, just their stat caps. How I wish I could use my favourite paladin, Percival, here. Oops, kinda going off topic, I should stop ranting.. I mean analyzing, for now.

Future projects (probably after my exams, I'm not going to play too much for now):
FE6 Journey (Jahn's+Idoun's maps) - Team battles instead of solos, with no supports. Example: Pegasus sisters, Ostian knights, etc.
Zephiel's map is not included due to the requirements to even reach Zephiel and the ridiculously large map with too many enemies.
FE8 Journey (Lagdou Ruins floor 10 + Demon King's map in a single video). Maybe true solo, no duplicate classes for each character.
Example: If I completed Druid Ewan, I won't be doing for Super Recruit Ewan again. Not to worry, I will be doing a voting poll in the description when a character journey is uploaded, then only do for the one with the highest vote count.

I love Eliwood's character, I love his development arc in the story, I love his design, I love his combat animations (Seriously, his animations are the most gorgeous in the entire series imo). Easly my favorite Lord.
That being said, I wish he could promote a lot sooner, since it would imensly boost his usefulness as an unit.
Hector Mode mitigates that a bit, but even so his growths still feel mediocre compared to, say, Sain.

Eliwood is better than Roy in so many ways as a character but both are bland.
Even on Hector mode his pomotion is still way too late to matter, despite Eliwood having the best promotion gains out of the three lords.
If he could promote imediatrly after, let's say, you get into the Dread Isle for the first time, it would be a lot better.
Just having a promoted cavalry unit who can rescue even the fattest uhnits in the game (Like promoted Oswin, Hawkeye, and specially promoted Hector) is already very useful on it's own. The access to lances would also increase Eliwood's survivability, because he would no longer face weapon triangle disavantage against majority of enemies. Sure, he wouldn't be any top tier unit or anything of the like, be he would be infinite times more useful overall.

To this day, I don't like that in this game, 8, and probably 9 and beyond, you can't have more than 1 S rank unless you're Athos or somebody from 6

Another splendid performance! RNG was moody in this journey! This entire year of FE content has been a hoot for me this year and I have you to thank for it! The Journeys, The FEH Videos and especially, the Zero Growth Series have been an incredible delight to see while I'm having my meals after a long day or night. They were also, a big incentive to get me into FEH! You have my heartfelt gratitude for being one of the few channels that breathes life into what FE used to be!
I hope the school year for you goes just as great as you made this year with your stylish, stunning gameplay with this entire game series!
About Eliwood, In my opinion, I think he is the perfect balance of the three lords, he's the middle. Lyn is Speedy, Hector is tanky but, Eliwood got a little of both worlds. I like using him in HHM so he can promote earlier, even though, I like his unpromoted self a little bit better his growths balance out very well once he does promotes. I've never had a problem using him and have enjoyed every battle he's been into! Still trying to get him in FEH though despite him looking a little off there XD.
It's been awhile since I've actually shared my thoughts anyway. It's been hectic for me for the last month and a half but rest assured, I've caught up on all your recent videos, enjoyed them and definitely, looking forward to the FE6 ones for I've never have played it before. Something I plan on changing sometime next year.

for shits and giggles,i compared the damage lyn and eliwood can do to the dragon if their effective weapons have defnegate and they have capped strengh. lyn can do 60 and eligood can do 84. eligood be buff

For some reason, Eliwood was beast in my playthrough. He had an iron sword and he still destroyed everything. He probably got more crits than anyone in the game aside from Lyn. Despite his late promotion, training Eliwood was damn worth it. He’s blursed.

Are you sure about that? It comes with a cost of having Brendan striking you at 36%, Ursula's 38%, Linus' 29%, etc...
I'm currently playing through Four-Fanged Offense in Hector Mode. Just in this chapter I've missed five 82 Hit strikes and two 93s, been hit by three 30 Hit or less strikes, and gotten six one-stat levels. Also, in the run I've failed six times to get a critical hit out of killer bow Rath (with 40 Crit odds).
So I'd love to at least have a different RN God.

How do you manage the Save File stuff for every character? do you just load a savestate where you just own everything the game gives you or have you got multiple save files for things like hector and eliwood mode?

I always feel bad for Jerme in this final battle. Exactly who is he supposed to be good against? He is consistently nearly no threat, and in most of my games I’ve used Lucius and Priscilla more than the Fighters, so i didn’t even get his version of Pale Flower of Darkness; showed up in the final chapter and i was like “unique portrait, cool, but who is he?”

Maybe the should make Durandal less weightier when Eliwood is holding it, but it retains it's weight when every other character with an S-rank in sword does. Durandal isn't a Prf weapon in FE6, anyway.
That's because there is no Eliwood in FE6 tho
well in fe6 eliwood became a paladin so... also the thing with durandal and the other weapons is that went made for the purpouse of fighting dragons. from when athos got the sol katti? also it would be great that obteaining the S lord weapon make them promote, and an special chapter for lyn too.

This... this is extremely impressive. I could never get Eliwood up to S-Rank Axes... mostly because I promote Lyn first on Hector Hard Mode(What I always play) because she always ends up a lot better than Eliwood by that point.

Efficient dodging/doubling is based on Lyn's high speed growths, and here you are talking about "Lyn is a bad character", but you didn't state how. Even if you did, this has nothing to do with what you quoted from my description, which is just based on speed. Anyway, javelins will slow down Eliwood with his low Spd cap even more, your comment is definitely not convincing.

Again, you are not even explaining why not having a mount is bad. Anyway, Isadora has a mount, and Harken doesn't have a mount, it's ironic when their usefulness in-game are so far apart. Kinda like your reasoning for "not having a mount isn't good".
@@thesiaoz I personally find that having mounted units is much more useful and viable than having Lyn's high stat caps.
Granted, her speed may be good, but she does not have 1-2 range in enemy phase, or a mount to move more than 6 movement at base.
Also, her durability is an issue, having 12 average def and 45 average hp is not stellar (assuming no stat boosters and 20/20 stats). Her res at 16 average is also kind of lacking; she may be a dodge tank, but lacking 1-2 range hurts more.
I am just saying that being swordlocked or bowlocked is bad if you want someone to tank in enemy phase, matters not if she can avoid. Lyn is just slower at killing enemies than someone who can use 1-2 range javelins.
Another thing is that Eliwood can do is move after using an item, rescue/dropping, trading, which is much more useful than Lyn's stat caps.
One last thing; having lower stat caps is perfectly fine when you have a good movement stat. I prefer a good movement stat over infantry like Lyn and the swordmasters. They are considered of the worst characters for a reason.
Also, the reason why I said Lyn is bad, over just saying her speed is good, is because I wanted to say using javelins (and hand axes) is far more useful than 30 speed.

Your point of having 1-2 range is fair enough. Still, you excluded Hector in the discussion, where he actually performs better than Eliwood during the enemy phase, due to his higher stats. By using pure water, you could easily ignore Hector's low Res to handle magic units too. Do note that this is still talking about Eliwood's middling stat issue.
If we really have to talk about movement, yes, Eliwood has the advantage over the 2 lords (only by 1 point if comparing to Lyn). However, the entire focus of the description, or actually, the video itself, is that Eliwood is just a nerfed version of paladins. Other than 2 Str cap, the amount of stuff Eliwood sacrificed is not worth it. Whatever you want him to do, any paladin could handle it better, isn't it?
