Its disapointing how little views these videos get, i love them!
Yh me too!!
If you like all the videos they’ll get recommended more

Finaly, I can make realistic reflections in Minecraft!
can't wait for fast inverse square root!
quake in mc confirmed
How do ya do it?
Hi guys, thanks for watching! Just a small correction: At 5:00, I should be trying to subtract 1101 instead of just 01, because I forgot to bring the orange part down. It doesn't affect the answer though.
how are you going though the blocks in creative
@@casper3882 carpet mod, creativePassthrough
@@mattbatwings thanks
@@mattbatwings I'm using carpet mod and it not working
What's carpet mod?
The amount of cabbage is directly proportional to the square root of the carrots divided by the volume of the Mayo.
That’s Cole’s Law.
fuck this is great lmaooo
Aaaaahhhh 👉👉
So you just need to put a lot of Mayo to keep the amount of cabbage very low
whoa I never knew about this way of calculating square roots. thanks matt!
Today my math teacher taught us how to square root -1
... It was unreal
The squareroot of i is complex.
@@asheep7797 it really is complicated
It’s quite complex to square root a negative number
You must require a lot of imagination
@@asheep7797 yeah its unreal
If you shift the bits of the input, you can adjust the system to always output with a significance (precision) of 8 bits!
There is no way how good is this explanation Made. I'm speechless, GOOD JOB
this stuff is just beyond my abilities but i love to learn about it
do people actually build these from the tutorials? i just love watching and learning the algorithms. binary truly is superior. also fun to watch your block editing skills (the copying and pasting stuff idk)
I did 😆
Mhm, and if they’re on Java some download the tutorial build from his planet Minecraft to play around with it instead
I try to create my own machine out of the algorithm but I end up watching the block tutorial lmao
"The copying and pasting stuff" is a mod called WorldEdit
Today, my son learned about square roots. I was so shocked that I could only say one word:
"Radical!"
sir you hold 15% of this comment section
@@reids. and I’m proud
I was just looking for a tutorial on this!
Please make more of these, I am a CS student and I appreciate these videos!
This is tutorial is very good👍
New sub, hi. Just wanted to stop by and say your videos are literally invaluable in my latest project. (I'm trying to recreate arcade games from the 80s on one MC computer!) I value your knowledge greatly, keep it up.
this is so cool !
I love it how when you finish watching the video the square completes around the border of the thumbnail
What do you mean? Did he change the thumbnails since you posted this?
Nice tutorials actually :D
I downloaded your most recent calculator and noticed instead of using each of these machines for each operation, you used an ALU. With the fact that each of these binary processors use the same base adder unit, will you be teaching us how to make an ALU with it?
The ALU just uses conditional logic to select which components to use
Awesome!
How did u fly through blocks like in minute 9:25?
I have enabled creative no clip on my creative world but this doesn't work
Loved the vid. But I do wonder where you will take this? You've completed the basic and basic functions. Maybe an AUL? Expand on integrating all the parts together?
Ah, yes, an Arithmetic Unit Logic.
I think the explanation could've benefited from a decimal example with more than one step, or at least that's what I think would've help me see what's going on with bringing the partial answer down into the subtraction.
Hi matt will you be doing a combinational square root device ?? Some of the sequential devices (binary-bcd, divider) only work to a certain number then go out of sequence, so a timing issue for bedrock/pocket editions, but the combinational devices always work
Just string a bunch of conditional subtractors together and have the carry out inputted into the ones you need to subtract.
nice
The amount of square root puns is... unreal...
I never knew this algorithm!
How did you make it show two decimals accurately in your newest calculator? x1000 the number before input?
How Matt! I was wondering if you could make a video about comparing binary numbers? The ones I've found on YT uses pistons (which I'm not a fan of) I'm still trying to make one without piston maybe you can help? Thanks.
XOR gate or subtractor
Did you just teach me math in Minecraft? Where were you when I was in school
the process reminds me of proof by induction
Why do we have to substract 1 + all the numbers we subtracted earlier? I know it works that way but I don’t know why.
I like it how he says "do math on paper" when he is actually doing math on sandstone
Helo, it would be interesting if you can combine al of this operation in one machine, lick an ALU (arithmetic logic unit) with all the control necessary. Also i love your videos ❤, it took for me 1 year to learn this in high school.
upload to brrr
better than my doctor at the collage i sware
I put my root beer in a square glass
Now I just have beer
would be cool if the thumbnail's redstone lamps displayed the episode number in binary
I’ve been trying to make this design 16-bit. Trying to synd everything is a nightmare..
how expandable is this algorithm (not redstone scheme) to real numbers? can I ask for sqrt(2) and get 10 "decimals" (bi-nimals?)?
Yes
How are you phasing through the blocks? you aren't in spectator because you can still edit the world around you.
carpet mod. /carpet creativenoclip true
@@mattbatwings awesome, thanks!
Can you do a more indepth video on displays. pls

yooooooooooo
My wife said “You can’t change the square-root of a negative.”
She said I couldn’t..... but i can.
Use i
If you want to undo it, just put pi on it, and give an e-car some of that power.
I wonder what crazy math you will teach us how to do in minecraft

Hi!
So, i guess next time it'll be numbers in a power of "N"?
make cubic root

Hey, a suggestion, maybe you could add homework for this series?
Can you build a map to help with my calculus homework. Yknow build a redstone circuit to show the answer to sine and tangent
Im joking

“Dad, I don’t know the square root of sixteen.”
Son, I fourgive you.
Matt, what's the square root of 69
420
My girlfriend is like the square root of -100
A solid 10, complex and negative half the time.
what the heck?!!? square root?!?!?!?
Why don't real computers do it this way? It seems much more efficient than the traditional algorithms
Newtons method.
I was also thinking about that
I think you just need to connect a divisor with an adder for that
Since for square root it’s just x_n+1= (xn +k/xn)/2
Where k is the number to square root
We can divide an Random number from the start
Add to the adder
Divide by two(easy in binary)
And hook it back into the input
And do it for like an abitary amount of time until we get a good answer
It is probably not nessary for square root in this case
As Matt showed that there is a much more easy way
But we could do that for like
Cube root?
And also maybe Taylor series is possible too
@@boiii2148 You can use newtons method for approximating any nth root. You can even use newtons method to approximate other inverse functions like logarithms or even the lambert w function.
@@pebble6248 I know that
Newtons method is quite powerful
But the way showed in the video looks way faster
