Awesome job. I've been building fishing tackle for about 15 years but just started airbrushing about 8 months ago. I learned a lot watching videos like yours. Thanks for putting them out there.
I'm such a fan! I wish I had a touch of your ability to see what it's going to look like as you're working through the layers. Without you explaining it I just shoot the top colors and it looks cartoon-ish.
I found an easy and very cheap way to paint small spots on baits like these. I had to get a blood test. Hospital used some of the beige brown stretchy gauze to hold the cotton in place afterwards. If you stretch it out, it leaves small kinda random holes. The more you stretch it the larger the holes, but they end up between the size of a pencil point up about a BB. Ends up about half way between lined up and random. Perfect for this. Since it’s stretches it conforms to the bait easily HTH
Thanks for sharing your talents with us! I painted my first lure and credit watching your videos for it turning out! Keep up the good work, I always look forward to your next video!
I am new at lure caring and painting. I am 79 years old and enjoying watching you greatly. I feel I have learned a lot and keep it rolling .. .Hawkeye for North Carolina (jerry G.
Just started lure painting. Trying out with just normal stuff right now. Been watching your videos for a week now and also I'm on your Facebook page. Keep up the good work. Thank you for the tips
Oh your baits come out fantastic got me into airbrushing got a couple under my belt thanks for the amazing job and also I like the way you explain yourself
Love the videos wish you would do more. Over the winter so fare I have slowly gotten the stuff to start airbrushing. Now weighting for spring to setup in the garage.
Absolutely love your videos I am new and every time a lure painting video comes out I have to watch it at least three or four times! Keep up the good work I love watching!
Great video! I have just started building and painting lures here in the UK.....would love to see how our perch and pike react to the crappie lure. Keep up the good work
Always love your videos! I've been airbrushing for about a year. I'm disabled and can't fish as much at all so this a an alternative. Even then I can't sit long periods of time. So watching your videos are so refreshing, and informative. The only crappie pattern I've done wasn't very good. I did the splatter technique. I love those stencils.
I started lure painting about 2 years ago actually watched your video about the amazon air compressor and 3 airbrush gu s figured you were using it and be a good starter fast forward to this day i am still usuing the same vivio set and compressor its been working awesome until i can buy a new one for finer details i have been making my own stencils from milk jug plastic i have done a few crappie patterns but using the splatter technique until i get a stencil i like which glad i watched this video because im gonna look into the stencils you are using looming forward to your next video until then tight lines and thank you for all the great content and info you have definitely helped me grow as a better lure painter!!!
It has most definitely paid for itself as I'm getting more buyers people are really loving the lures what would be your recommendation on another airbrush gun from a step up from that?
Thank you for sharing your skills with us. You were the first that caught my attention with lure painting . Your explanation and demonstration make it very easy to follow. I watched all your videos back to back and get excited when new ones are dropped. Keep up the great work.
I really like a crappie pattern. That subtle yellow really does it for me. I like to have a super subtle blue and yellow on a crappie. I really like the idea of adding some silver rather than just white. Lure turned out great. As I was watching this I was thinking it would be neat to use exact same techniques, but do some crazy colors like chartreuse and orange just to mix it up. Our waters here here all opening up, but temperatures are tanking and we had a big snow. Spring is coming tho. I had a robin in the yard today. He was a welcome sight to see
Cool , I'm an old fart that started making and painting lures the past couple of years. You've been a big inspiration! I seem to paint my crappies way too dark usually. I will have to try this.
This is awesome! I've been watching a lot of your videos in preparation of me ordering some baits to paint. I currently make and paint inline spinners/ blades but and going to work on hard baits as well. Your videos are super informational and helpful thanks for the motivation!
Hello, very nice lure. I have been watching and making fishing lures and painting them for about a year now, but this is literally my favorite paint job of all time. Very nice man. Love your vids.
Great vid! I find crappies super hard. I use some transparents in green, blue, gold and yellow, to add the color changes. I tend to over cover in spots and have to repaint!!😂😂
I will have to admit when you finished the blue coat I was like that looks like something in my salt water aquarium not a crappie. However, the finished product looked great. The eyes always seem to make a huge difference.
Man I love your videos, saving up to get a kit myself so I can at least repaint my old baits, But I was actually talking to my buddy about getting some swim baits painted up in the white crappie and hitting up Shearon Harris and then I see this video, so cool bro, thanks for the great content
Love your stuff iv been painting now for alittle over a year I was scrolling through TH-cam over a year ago and seen one of your videos I watched it and decided right then I wanted to paint baits, over a year later the beginning stage is over and I'm having so much fun with it thanks for the content your awsome man
Bro where have you been!? I just came across your channel and been binging your vids haha you definitely got me into the process of painting my own lures 🤘
Just discovered your channel and this is my first video. Love the tutorial and can’t wait to watch more. This is probably going to be a hobby I jump into. Is there anything you have to do to the bait to make it fishable? Does the paint give off any scent, oil, etc. that has to be removed?
New subscriber! I came across all your videos after doing a search as I’ve been contemplating on painting my own hard baits. Your videos are very descriptive & seems easy to do with some practice! Have you repainted other manufacturers baits? Just wondering if you have a video on that..
As soon as you set the eyes into place this bait came alive. Great content

It has most definitely paid for itself as I'm getting more buyers people are really loving the lures what would be your recommendation on another airbrush gun from a step up from that?

Spring can't come fast enough lol. The crazy colors would look awesome! Might have sparked an idea there for me haha
@@BakerBuilds what about exact same technique, but with reds/browns? Kind of a craw color. Red is always good in spring
@@AdventureIndiana Good idea!

Thank you! Welcome to the club haha. Your gonna love it👍
I will have to admit when you finished the blue coat I was like that looks like something in my salt water aquarium not a crappie. However, the finished product looked great.
The eyes always seem to make a huge difference.
I think the eyes always make the bait! Sometimes I question my base coats when it looks like that hahaha
Awesome job.
Just starting and I have a long way to go.
Thanks! Welcome to the club haha
Man I love your videos, saving up to get a kit myself so I can at least repaint my old baits, But I was actually talking to my buddy about getting some swim baits painted up in the white crappie and hitting up Shearon Harris and then I see this video, so cool bro, thanks for the great content

Great video on painting a crappie pattern

Bro where have you been!? I just came across your channel and been binging your vids haha you definitely got me into the process of painting my own lures 🤘
I have some blank lures but no airbrush. If I hand paint them with a small paint brush and acrylic paint work that work out, ok?
Awesome lure!
Good looking bait.
Thank you!😬
Great video as always! Very nicely edited too! 👊
