      👀Let's gooo! Yeah I think I'm definitely getting really interested in doing that upgrade path to the Ritz Card. The more I think about it, the more I feel like I'm trending more toward being an end-game Marriott guy. Thanks for watching Chase!

    Nothing like having instant Diamond Status and a FNC right away.
    People were really sleeping on Hotel cards. I need a Marriott card in the near future

      I love Hotel Cards they are the best haha. You & me both being on Team Travel can definitely benefit a ton from them. And haha yeah nothing can quite even come close to the Aspire with Automatic Diamond Status and that uncapped FNC! Thanks for watching Sledge!

      I wanted a Amex Marriott Business card but I'm capped with my 10 Amex cards haha, instead I just upgraded my Hilton Honors to the Hilton Surpass!

    One thing I like about the Hilton cards is the ability to upgrade / downgrade as needed!
    And agree, 4th night free is much better than 5th night free!

      Absolutely! I love all the Upgrade/Downgrade paths as well. Just took advantage of an upgrade offer to the Surpass! Thanks so much for watching Dugroz!

    I just got rejected for Hilton Aspire, waiting for the mail to find out the reason(s). But in terms of hotel CCs for 2024, that looks my setup too - planning to get Boundless soon for the 5 free nights and offer ends some time next month.
    Edit: just got approved for boundless with 15.5k credit limit, guess I am one step closer to Ritz Carlton!

    • @MattWelterOfficial

      Let’s go!! Congrats on the Boundless approval! Can’t beat it right now with the 5 Free Night bonus, plus of course the upgrade opportunity to that Ritz Card!

    Hell yeah Matt, we always think alike. If I wasn’t trying to build up as many Chase points as I am, I’d probably also pick up some FNC hotel cards too.
    Also that water view around 8:30 was really nice!!
    Great plan Matt, I think you’ll have some great times with all the programs, I’m interested to see your opinion if IHG whenever you get in some of those.
    Great video Matt!

    • @MattWelterOfficial
      @MattWelterOfficial  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Haha yeah our mindsets really do align a lot! Makes sense since we are both heavily prioritizing travel via Credit Card Points as much as possible. I'm really interested to see how I end up liking IHG as well! That 4th night free instead of 5th night could be a bit of a sweet spot. Thanks for watching Anthony!

    Planning a big west coast trip this summer. Just cashed out 200,000 Hilton points for some hotel stays, 3 free night Marriott certificates earned via welcome offer, and 1 Hilton free night cert to stay at the Oceana in Santa Monica California ($1200/night room). Love that I am saving so much money on this trip! Also booked some Hyatt stays with Chase points. Maybe I will get some free upgrades with Hilton Diamond status, but at least will get some food credits. Still have 1 more Hilton free night and hope to earn another one via my Hilton Business card this year with the $15k spend. Also hope to earn a free Hyatt night this year by staying at 5 different of their brands of hotels. Will leverage my Hilton and Chase Preferred hotel $50 discounts yet this year too along with my $200 FHR via Amex Platinum.

      Wow let’s go!! Sounds like you are going all out for that West Coast trip so that is awesome. $1200 is fantastic value from the Hilton FNC. Love the diversity in your hotel strategy too! Thanks for watching!

    I’m obviously here first. Give me my gold medal now please 🤪. What you’re going to cancel the HHB and get the Amex Platinum?! The big boy, big daddy, $695 annual fee Amex Platinum?!! 💀 😵.
    Wait, WOH card?! You sure? I need a better welcome offer first, but I prefer Hyatt since Baha Mar is my favorite property right now…..even though it’s very expensive 🤣.

    • @MattWelterOfficial
      @MattWelterOfficial  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hahaha- close one CJ. And yupppp, I think I'm finally going to do it. I have a Centurion Lounge here in Seattle. Already pay for Hulu Live Sports, could use the FHR & Uber Credits etc. I think it would make sense and would be great experience for the channel to get the Card too. And haha yeah totally feel that, the WoH card has always had a weird welcome offer, but it is a little elevated right now (barely haha), so I think I'll take advantage soon. Thanks for watching CJ!

    All the Amex coupon hate and burn out and I can't help but look at all these FNA as more coupons.

    • @MattWelterOfficial
      @MattWelterOfficial  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah that's a totally fair point! Personally though, a lot of the Credits with Amex are things like Dining, Uber, etc. that are more-so things I really don't need to spend money in. I however am going to travel every year, and so I can use FNA's within organic travel plans. Thanks for watching Chad!

    I'd love to add more hotel cards too. There's so many options to get a free night award, so I have to pick my favorites first, but even my 3rd and 4th favorite hotel chains have solid credit cards

    Hotel cards are the GOAT 🐐 your hotel card strategy is solid. I currently have the WoH and Marriott Boundless cards, but plan to upgrade the boundless to the ritz and get more Marriott cards in the future as my end game (and the WoH luxury card if that drops) as those are my main hotel chains. However, I like the idea of getting every card with a free night as I’m sure I could use all of them!

    • @MattWelterOfficial
      @MattWelterOfficial  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Totally agree Cody! And it sounds like you have a super solid strategy. The more I think about it, the more I'm genuinely considering doing that product change strategy to the Ritz Carlton as well. I could definitely see myself becoming more so a Marriott loyalist over a Hilton loyalist due to all of the international options. And for sure! Hotel Keeper Cards are the best!

  • @johnmckinstry6057
    @johnmckinstry6057 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Great hotel card strategy, Matt! Currently, I have the Hilton Honors (NAF) card and the IHG One Rewards Premier card. The IHG card will be a keeper card for me because of the free night certificate and I like the IHG portfolio of hotels. My goal for this year is to add the Marriott Business card since I’m over 5/24 until this summer. I may also add the Hilton Surpass card so I can get the welcome offer before I upgrade my current Hilton Honors card. Eventually, I would like to have the Hilton Aspire card, but right at this time it would not make sense for me to have it. I also have my eye on the Choice Privileges Select card because of the 30,000 point anniversary bonus, but that card will more than likely get added to my wallet later on.

    • @MattWelterOfficial
      @MattWelterOfficial  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks so much John! It sounds like you are building out a setup with some solid Keeper Cards with the IHG Premier & Bonvoy Business as well, love to see it! And absolutely would recommend going for that welcome bonus on the Hilton Surpass, and then upgrading your Hilton Honors to the Surpass later to double-dip on the amount of Hilton Points you are able to accumulate. Thanks so much for watching!

    Good stuff man - I like the strategy considering you actually travel and take advantage of the free night awards. Only problem with the boundless is the FNA’s are pretty low value - did you see a lot of Marriott’s around the 35-50k point range in Panama?

    • @MattWelterOfficial
      @MattWelterOfficial  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks so much Beau! And completely understood. Not as much in Panama but definitely a lot in Colombia. While I’m in my 20s I plan to travel to a lot of affordable type travel destinations as well so I think I can get a lot of value out of the 35k point certificate. Appreciate you watching!

      Completely agree! I feel like if I was a Hyatt loyalist I would limit myself to where I wanted to go, especially since I like traveling to more under-the-radar places, and consciously would start traveling to places that weren't as high on my list just in order to use Hyatt.
