In hindsight the league is ripe with corruption of the highest order and CC shone a bright light on the cockroaches within. (From officiating, to players, to leadership)
It was like a reality show watching them squirm this season! Ugly drama.
I kind of feel sorry for her in that although he has had a reasonable decent start for a rookie her cornfed fans evidently are disappointed in her performance, why else would they be making all these inane excuses for why she hasn’t become the “belle of the ball”. Their excuses range from player jealousy, straight phobia and race issues to league corruption and liberal bias. Although I expect most of this comes from her cultish fan base lately I’ve been noticing it has creeped into her “on the floor” persona.
Her general demeanor during a game is laced with dismay and disgust with not only the officials but with teammates and any player that thwarts her moves. I watched her sit the bench tonite after a lackluster first half and getting 4 fouls. She seemed totally disinterested in the game after that even though her teammates made a run in the 4th quarter. One can only wonder if she hasn’t bought into her own hype. I do understand that setting a college record and being a number one draft pick are amazing accomplishments but failing to win an NCAA championship and being on a struggling team in the WNBA are the humbling experiences most players have dealt with gracefully without the disdain that shows in her face. For those that question that she’s getting a fair shake any time she has an off night or her team loses or she gets passed over for an Olympic team don’t understand the nature and realities of competition. This is “put up or shut up” time and there is no Supreme Court in basketball to save your ass.
