I took it last month, this is something I'm going to keep doing. The only bad thing about taking it in winter is you are going to lose a lot of light and not see a lot of scenery you would in the summer.
That is true. You almost always miss Ruby Canyon going west and the drop down the front range going east in the winter. But the snowy scenes really make up for it!
Great videotaping my friend!👏👏👏 I take this train journey every single year. If you ever get the opportunity get off in Glenwood Springs, Colorado and visit Vail and Aspen at the beginning of October! “WOW” You will be mesmerized by the beautiful fall foliage this state has to offer!🍁🍁🍁
A very informative & enjoyable upload. On my bucket list of future US train journeys together with the Cardinal, Empire Builder & Coast Starlight. Was fortunate to do the Maple Leaf (in winter) , the South West Chief & the City of New Orleans. Amtrak trains are so unique & a great way to see the vastness & beauty of America.
What was your favorite long distance route? Did you use the shower inside the bedroom or the public shower with dressing room in the sleeper car and how was that. Also what is your favorite flexible dinning meal and your favorite traditional dinning meal? Thanks
I went on the Zephyr last year from Denver to San Franscio it was amazing. I recommend going in a roomette. It might be small but it was worth it for me.
Thank you for watching. I try not to be a travel vlog… more focused on the trains themselves. There are lots of great travel vlogs out there which focus on the amenities and features. :-)
My wife and I booked a bedroom and are taking this train from Chicago to SF in early Feb.
Cannot wait!!😊
Very exciting! That is around the same time of year that I filmed for this video. Hopefully you will see lots of snow as well!
My 6 year old daughter and I made this trip back in 2018. We both were in awe of the sights and no boredom at all!
Just found your channel and its exceptional!!
Thank you so much for the kind words and for subscribing!

Before I die, I hope to be able to take the trip back and forth.
I couldn’t recommend it more. I really hope you do it! :-)
Thank you so much for preparing this video, I will be taking this route for the first time in a few weeks and I'm really looking forward to it.
My pleasure! Have so much fun on your trip! Let me know what you think!!
@@RailWeeklywell I can cross this train journey off the bucket list, but I'll definitely do this again! Loved every moment.
On the bucket list!
Made this trip many times. Never gets old.
Very true!
Enjoyed a sleeper on the California Zephyr. Great video
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you!
No more Feather River? I took the Zephyr when I was a kid. 1957
I know, I would love an opportunity to ride through Feather River Canyon!
They go through Moon river though, look it up on google or your favorite search engine.

Thank you so much! I almost never get the opportunity to travel in fall, but I bet CO is stunning!

Great video as always.
Thank you, Marcio!

Thank you so much! The Cardinal is on mine as well. Coast Starlight is a close second to the Zephyr I think!

Wow, another brilliant presentation.
What time of year was this please?
Would love to book that trip when there is snow in areas. Cheers 🙏
Thank you! This was filmed in late January. You’re pretty much guaranteed to see snow any time in January and February.
@@RailWeekly thank you Sir.

Thank you, Hugh!

What a really fun video!
Thank you, Nick!
10:30 i wonder why a Amtrak California loco is on that train
Nice video! What date did you do this please?
Thank you! It was filmed this winter, in February.
@@RailWeekly Ty!
A bit about the service and accommodations, please?
