Dr. Alan Goldhamer is the co-founder of TrueNorth Health Center, a state-of-the-art facility that provides medical and chiropractic services, psychotherapy and counseling, as well as massage and bodywork. He is also director of the Center's groundbreaking residential health education program.
Articulate, inspiring and energetic, Dr. Goldhamer is one of the most pioneering and dedicated visionaries in health today. An outspoken professional who doesn't shy away from a spirited debate, he is deeply committed to helping people stuck in self-destructive cycles reclaim their ability to change their lives.
Dr. Goldhamer has supervised the fasts of thousands of patients. Under his guidance, the Center has become one of the premier training facilities for doctors wishing to gain certification in the supervision of therapeutic fasting.
Dr. Goldhamer was the principal investigator in two landmark studies. The first: "Medically Supervised Water-Only Fasting in the Treatment of Hypertension" appeared in the June 2001 issue of the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics. Its publication marked a turning point in the evolution of evidence supporting the benefits of water-only fasting. The second study: "Medically Supervised Water-Only Fasting in the Treatment of Borderline Hypertension," appeared in the October 2002 issue of the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine.
Currently, Dr. Goldhamer is directing a team that is developing a prospective study, incorporating random assignment and long-term follow-up on the cost and clinical outcomes in the treatment of diabetes and high blood pressure with fasting and a health-promoting diet.
After completing his chiropractic education at Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, Oregon, Dr. Goldhamer traveled to Australia, where he became licensed as an osteopathic physician. He is the author of The Health Promoting Cookbook and co-author of The Pleasure Trap: Mastering The Hidden Force That Undermines Health and Happiness.

The three people who saved my life from obesity and poor health . In 2017 I sat directly behind Dr Lisle before he spoke at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine and was too ashamed to introduce myself to him because of my weight ( around 260 pounds ) I had lost and regained over 100 pounds many times and the last time was in weight watchers. Today I have been maintaining my weight loss for over three and a half years ( I’m 165 and in perfect health ) while eating more food than ever. I look forward to the day I can introduce myself to the three of you and can look you in the eyes with pride and thank you from the bottom of my heart .. : )

AJ has gone from good to great in the interviewer's seat. The questions were nicely chosen and -- WOW -- she moderated a great interview! I already consider both Lisle and Goldhamer influential in my own thinking, but I found new and profund insights in this lively conversation. I was completely engrossed. I think this is my favorite of many great interviews.

It actually brings me happiness to listen to these brilliant and funny guys.
I had just one private therapy session a couple months ago with Dr Doug and in that one session so much healing and change has occurred for me. He is a gift to humanity just like his bff. Thank you AJ for being a huge part of bringing these inspirational people to us. I found you simply because I was looking for plant exclusive recipes- wow-you bring that but SO much more❤️

Totally fabulous segment! The insight into this lifelong friendship and their respect for each other… I still have a smile on my face! Luckily I made my reservation at True North two weeks ago, because I’m sure I’d never get in until 2023 now. (I’m still having to claw my way for July 10th). I WILL be a success, and a WINNER. What I’ve learned today from these lovely Doctors is that I’d be the only loser if I failed, but I’d also be disrespecting the lifetime body of knowledge they’ve dedicated their lives to. WOW! Thank you, too, Chef AJ. You are opening up so many avenues of health to us, the lay people, new ideas, new ways to think of old ideas: FABULOUS.
    And Happy Birthday 🎉

When the Docs mention their amazing cases that were cured by water fasting, i get the impression that True North is more for those who need serious weight loss or those with serious life threatening conditions? Or to kick massive addictions? Is this true? Or do they allow u to go there as like a checkup kind of health maintenance thing? Just curious.

These two are food for the soul. When you can laugh...it's always a good time. I find Dr. Lisle comment about people who are agreeable having a difficult time with the application...almost impossible was the image I got...I However, have always seen myself as an agreeable person but I have the frame of mind as Dr. Goldhammer...I do not understand how people struggle with the concept of healthy diet. No matter how good something might taste...if it's not good for you, it's not good....PERIOD!

Oh wow, i’m so glad dr Goldhammer is doing a research on covid too. I recently got omicron about 3 weeks ago. I got no tongue and i was too sore to eat so i decided to do what i always do when i’m sick: sleep+ water. I only walk out of my room to get more water into my pitcher & thermos then back to bed. I recovered 5 days later and my pcr came out negative.

I think that time is a basic importance to people- it's what is not replaceable. A hungry person is likely to grab what is next to the cash register rather than walk a distance. If apples were next to the cash register & candy bars were at the back of the store, would they use the irreplaceable time to walk the distance to get the candy bar rather than grab the handy apple?

Dr. Goldhamer and Dr. Lisle are incredible. True North is a total departure from reality (as i knew it). For best results at True North Health Center you must have the mindset of total surrender. The building is a old apartment building and everything is eccentric. You will enjoy the mind liberating experience.

Psychological is important, but if a person is dead, psychology doesn't matter. Life/health is the priority. And people don't have to spend years talking about their problems- in fact speaking about them strengthens the problem. Write them OUT of you. See Cathy O'Brien's info (ex-mind-control victim). Tapping (Emotional Freedom Technique) eradicates painful emotional feelings, etc. See Robert Smith (Faster EFT).

I’m just wondering because I drink fresh carrot/celery juice almost daily, for about 8 mths, if I dilute the concentrated juice, and drink a sane amt like 400-500ml , would this keep me from getting diabetes down the road?
Btw, growing up, I was outside the circle of the pleasure trap that some of the rest of the family were in, as an observer. I don’t now have any problems with putting food in my body but I never had any unhealthy cravings bc I saw how the love of eating killed a few family members.

Sooooo many people don't read. They have been, intentionally, dumbed-down (investigate Charlotte Iserbyt's info). Reading is too much of an effort, takes too much time & is too difficult for their dumbed minds to comprehend. Books will not be enough. The info must be audio/visual- perhaps a video for each chapter? Use mind-control (with people's permission if that is what your conscience will allow) for GOOD. Perhaps without permission since the bad guys don't request it. Everything that everyone does affects everyone- down to the healthcare workers having to move large, heavy bodies simply because the patient didn't control what they put into their mouths.

Well, this was interesting. I don't know either of these men as Chef AJ does, but from this interview, it is obvious that Dr. Lisle has nothing but respect for Dr. Goldhammer and holds him in the highest regard. Mount Rushmore. Wow - that's huge. And again, I don't know these men, but Dr. Lisle seems highly infatuated with Jen. I don't know if he's ever been married, or is married. But it sounds like he would love some kind of connection to happen with Jen Howk. [ Buchinger Wilhelmi Clinic Überlingen, Lake Constance, Germany does water only fasting. ] I can see how Chef AJ really enjoys these guys. They are really something.

Thank you so much chef AJ for all these great interviews!
Thank you also for your livelihood, your lightness and joyful spirit always, I appreciate it very much!
I also appreciate very much this duo, how honest they are about them selves and more, and I especially appreciate Doug Lisle for I have been involved with nutrition and my health for many decades, with ups and downs, and for me what counts the most is understanding, understanding the nature of humankind and the time we are living in, and this is probably what makes the most difference for me in terms of empowering me to eventually make further or more changes in my life style!
For I am a nutcase, and one that hate manipulation, and I would not wanna be manipulated into being scared or anything like that or like any hypnotic strategy, the nutcase I am resonates very much with understanding, esteem, empowerment,And going on doing my best and living my life….
    Wonderful!!!
