Lovely, as always... Your interpretation is amazing, boy! I wish I can play my viola like this in the near future. (Dreaming is relaxing, you know) Thanks for sharing.
I have an upcoming audition and will be using this as reference. You are an amaing player. Love your tone, rythm and intonation. Hope you won your audition. If not, it's their loss.
Hello, for my tastes - Brahms Var VII - not too fast and much more lyrical/connected - I think of a nice peaceful day by the stream when I hear variation VII - Var. VIII I would say not quite that fast - and do play mysteriously - this is what makes this excerpt exciting - In General: don't play too fast and aim for the "back beat" when you practice with the metronome. I hope this all helps and good luck to you!!!!
Dear Stefan, the excepts sound good in general You have a consistent intonation and an excellent tone. I would like to suggest one thing in Brahms Var. VII, the tempo should be a little slower and the character more lyrical.
also, in general, do you play with recordings? if you don't I suggest you consider playing with recordings - that will help you a bit with details and understanding of the music, not just listen, but play along with them.
Awww, thanks for listening :) These were recorded for a big audition prelim coming up! We'll see what happens!
So you have an audition! Best wishes, my friend, break a leg! Mr. Smith for the win!!!
I'm working on the last Ein Heldenleben excerpt for orchestra seating auditions and this helped me so much. Thank you!
+Anna Mach no prob! Sorry for the late response!
