The days of pirate radio where DJ’s broke dope songs, albums an what not…..no playlists just playing good music from the heart and their collections…..what a time it was to be young 💃🏽🕺🏽
This is MUSIC...my early days of becoming a record(vinyl) junkie ...bought my copy from Groove Records in Greek Street in Soho,London as a youth ...still one of the baddest grooves ever !
George was a great guy. Got to escort him around Memphis when he was on tour. We became friends. Dancing In The Sun was my favorite CASSETTE ever. I was stationed aboard the USS POINT LOMA and played the tape that I got from the Navy Exchange until it hissed, squealed and broke. YEP...I bought another one!! I never would've guessed when I was a Yeoman in the Navy that I'd end up meeting GH and hanging out with him. Life is great.
Thank you so much!! for posting I had it on rotation when my father passed in 19892 months after my wedding. Ironically George passed at the same age. Blessings to you all Health is Wealth!!
So sorry to hear about your father's passing! I can certainly relate to that. Surely appreciated your beautiful comment: "Health is Wealth!" Succinctly said! Health truly is wealth because we know that without it, we cannot enjoy anything else in life! George Howard truly was a treasure and I bought every one of his albums (cassettes followed by 💿 cds). No one sounded like him then nor has anyone since. He was a trailblazer. Thank you for sharing. God bless you and your family; George Howard for his artistry and God his family; and all! Thank you.
Love this tune! Thanks for share it! "Dream Ride" es todo un clásico del desaparecido saxofonista George Howard, forma parte de su segundo álbum "Steppin' Out" editado en 1984 por Palo Alto Records y, en esta pieza que cierra el álbum, Howard se decanta por el clarinete. Un cáncer de colón se llevaba al saxofonista en 1998, pero dejo tras de si catorce estupendos álbumes para recordarle, "There's a Riot Goin' On", el último, fue editado de manera póstuma por Blue Note Records. #SmoothJazz

George Howard played like every song was his last and he wanted it to be greater than the one before!!!!
One of the baddest grooves ever by one of the greatest soprano saxophonists ever!!! R.I.P.......

Excellent!
My favorite right out cut of all time. One of the smoothest melodies ever played/made. Miss you, George
