    I flunked out of college, even though I wanted my degree so badly so I bought this book out of desperation because I knew I needed a miracle. It worked. God just made a path for me and I followed it and I only listen to those who would support my endeavors. I left college with my degree and I was so happy. The diploma hangs on my wall -- Every time I walk by the frame I dust it off -- I so Thank God.

    This video was put on TH-cam 7 years ago. I've r ad the Course in Miracles, and now I'm on lesson 35. Thank you for the clarity and guidance you've provided to us. And I absolutely love your book "The dragon doesn't live here anymore". And then on to "I had it all the time". Sending you many blessings and much love Alan. Namaste 🙏

    I'm not even ten minutes into this and crying ~ and these are unlike any tears I can recall.
    Some of it is the gentleness in Alan's voice, but it's the Course which I've known about for decades.
    Today, I saw a glimpse of the men arrested in Russia for the attack at the concert. I could tell how they were suffering and hoped that it could end.
    Where do we go with the emotions we have when others are in great pain? (Am sending love to those who are inflicting it, too.)
    Thanks in advance to anyone who answers. 🌿

    Really enjoyed listening to this, thank you💛
    I found the course over 20 years ago after I had a vivid dream about it and then I visited a friend the following day, and told her my dream and she told me she had purchased it the previous day in a jumble sale for £1. I had not heard of it before!
    Took me three years to read it that first time and at the end I was in a state of complete grace for the last few weeks, I love how poetic it becomes towards the later parts. So beautiful.

    The sound of Alan's voice itself is so calming and soothing - I could listen to it for hours. His non imposing, liberating, & gentle persona has a lot to do with my listening to what he has to say, and his including and knowledge of various wisdoms & teachings- such as the Vedas, tells me he has stepped outside the box and opened his mind to various teachings, and then concluded. While sadly religion divides us, spirituality can unite us, because a truly spiritual person, doesn't try to persecute those who think differently. Peace on earth becomes a possibility with the spreading of Spiritual principals - Peace Please.

      Jesus came to divide us. He says, ""Do you suppose that I came to grant peace on earth? I tell you, no, but rather division."
      Let me show how Jesus divides people by asking you a simple question:
      *Is Jesus Christ actually God Himself?* Your answer to this question will divide you.
      The Course teaches that Jesus was just a man. The Bible teaches that Jesus Christ is God.
      There is no middle ground here. You either believe Jesus is just a man or you believe Jesus is God.

    • @PeacePlease.

      What I think and what you think does not or will not make or break what Jesus Christ is. God by any name is Almighty, God is in me, in you and in allllll things. God was in Christ also - Only Christ was a better image of God than you or I - Enough said. PEACE PLEASE!!

      Jesus Christ was an image of God? The Bible teaches that Jesus Christ is God Himself. God is a triune being consisting of three in one - God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), God the Holy Spirit.
      To refer to Jesus as an "image of God" is heretical.

      +PeacePlease! I'm not arguing with you. I'm just sharing who God has revealed Himself to be: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), God the Holy Spirit. Jesus is God Himself. Jesus is every bit as much as God as the Father is God.

    Years ago I read and went through the exercises in A Course in Miracles (twice), and it was incredibly valuable for my burgeoning spiritual awakening. I just happened to stumble upon it on TH-cam and decided to have another listen. It's kind of enlightening to experience it once more after all these years of continued spiritual growth.
    Now it appears to me that the Course in Miracles was intended - by the universal consciousness/God - as a (much needed) fix/patch/upgrade to Christianity in order to eliminate all the anger, darkness and misconceptions that have been perpetuated over the millennia in Christ's name.
    For Christians who reject the darkness within Christianity (particularly the Old Testament) and are looking for a more enlightened worldview, A Course in Miracles gives them a highly relatable information source they can use to reestablish their connection purely with Christ's message of love, forgiveness, charity, refrain from judgment, etc., without the burden of having to “sift out” all the fear and ignorance-based elements that we know in our hearts are not of Christ - the biggest one being that God will throw us away like so much unwanted trash if we “displease him.” (Eventually it becomes clear that we are ALL precious, eternal, irreplaceable aspects of God that “he” could no sooner throw away than we could our own children. And that this “larger consciousness” will work with us for a long as it takes - for as may lifetimes as it takes - for us to grow into the purely loving beings that “he” intends for us ALL to become.)
    Considering the recent statements from the Duck Dynasty patriarch, there's still plenty of work to be done within the "Christian consciousness" as a whole. And A Course in Miracles is the perfect place to start for Christians who are determined to "love like Jesus." All the best!

      You say you started this spiritual journey years ago, so can I ask for myself who is only 5 months or so into my spiritual journey, how long into your learning before you learned how to lucid dream? And then how long after that before you learned how to astral project in meditation? Also how long did it take for you to learn how to hear your HS? As I say I am only 5 months or so into doing the Course and so far I haven't achieved any of these things that I mention. But I know it takes a great willingness to learn and time, of both which I have. And hopefully in a year or so I will have learned all of these things, that's why I'm asking you to be honest, so I have something to gage the time on. So yea,.... how long for you for these things???

      Because of all the challenges in life, my spiritual journey has been a rather up and down proposition over the past 20 years. But this last concerted effort began 3 or 4 years ago and this time it has really stuck: consistent meditation, consistent mindfulness that I am a spiritual entity living a corporeal existence, always trying to look at things from a big picture perspective, etc. I can trace my renewed spiritual enthusiasm back to one day walking my dog in the woods. It all just kind of hit me like a ton of bricks as I walked, almost like a life review (but without that whole inconvenient dying part, LOL) of all the ways I had thought about and done many things in my life that were self-directed, rather than other-directed. It was an intense experience that changed my whole mindset and woke me up to what is really important and why we’re all here.
      As for the details you asked about, I actually trained myself to lucid dream years before I considered any kind of spiritual practice. But it took a lot of concentration/effort when falling asleep and I just kind of let it go. Back then it was cool being able to control my actions within my dreams, but I never got much out of it and I always thought of it as just sort of a neat trick.
      After my renewed spiritual practice, my lucid dreams began coming on their own, probably within six months. But this time they were different. Now they are always in the form of spiritual lessons that come out of the blue every once in awhile (from some higher level of perception or existence, no doubt. Maybe this is my “higher self,” I’m not sure. But I guess it doesn’t really matter since we’re all one, anyway). I always recognize these “special dreams” right away because of the fact that I have control of myself within them, and they seem sort of hyper-real compared to normal dreams. Some people call these “tests,” but I think of them as lessons. But they are kind of tests in a way because I don’t seem to get another one until I have “solved” the previous one. Sometimes it takes a long time and a lot of meditating to “get it.”
      My main problem, which I’m still struggling with, is being able to stay with the tests for long periods of time. It will seem like I’m just getting into one and I'll find myself “rising away” from the experience much too soon. The last one was weird because I was shown the “answer” written in black magic marker on a white grease board as I was leaving (probably trying to help me out). But even with the answer, it still took quite awhile to understand what it all meant. But after I do figure these things out, it has always made a noticeable difference in my awareness of this life experience.
      It feels like this is getting kind of long, so I’ll end it by saying that I’ve only had two OBEs and they happened, again. within 6 months of my renewed spiritual practice (the first one was bizarre in that I asked, intensely, for help getting OBE, and the next thing I knew I found myself hanging on for dear life to my bed sheet as I was violently pulled OBE into a beautiful, colorful new environment). Both of my OBE’s were pretty awesome, but again I had the “fading away” problem and they ended too soon. I think when I fix this “sustainability problem,” they may start happening again.
      Are you familiar with Tom Campbell’s work? If not, you should check it out. Tom and many others who are connected with the Monroe Institute are basically masters at this stuff who can give you much better information than I can. I’m still just a novice. But the best part is that I know I am on a positive path, and more lucid dreams and/or OBEs will come along if and when I need them. In other words, I’m learning so much from just my meditative practice and waking focus/ awareness (Eckhart Tolle is great for learning this) that this other "fancier stuff" is just icing on the cake whenever it comes along again (which I think it will). Al the best to you, my friend. :)

      ***** The Course is specific manual, one of the things is to help you hear Spirit, right?. Like after the 365 lessons it leaves you to your HS (internal teacher), to guide you for yourself. So did you start to hear after the lessons? During, at what point? Or have you not mastered that yet? Thanks for the reply by the way. Sorry for being very inquisitive, I'm just very interested in how long it took for other people.

      The main benefits I received from “A Course in Miracles” was a deeper sense of love for others, a feeling that we are all connected, and the sense that when we hurt others we are really hurting ourselves, as well.
      It wasn’t until after I began a rigorous meditation practice for 4 to 6 months that I experienced the other things I mentioned: 2 OBEs, many lucid dream lessons or tests, hearing spiritual guidance during deep trance meditation (clear voice communication), and being more aware during my waking hours.
      It was because of the instructions/ lessons of Tom Campbell and Eckhart Tolle that enabled me to progress to my current level of awareness. Hope this helps. Cheers.

      @VermiciousKnids100 11 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** OK Thanks. But I do think that you are supposed to hear spirit whenever you ask for his guidance. That is the whole aim of the 'Course'. I get that it teaches to be more loving and open to see past what we would call 'sins' as they are not real but merely illusions. Like I say though from my understanding, it's not hearing spirit whenever you're in a deep meditation trance, but whenever you ask for his help in daily life. That is what I think we are supposed to learn from taking the course.

    In the 90's through a spirit entering into this 3rd dimension during a period when my Step Father was dying, I received this 3 books once again I did not buy them, no one gave them to me, they appeared out of thin air. Some years later a spirit appeared to me and reminded me where they came from. Yes, I understand that most people will choose not to believe me, but I speak the TRUTH !!!!

      Alan channels an amazing gift. at a meeting in a Unitarian church once in Princeton where over a hundred people attended, he brought us into meditation sending an arc of light across the planet to the Russian people. What resulted was President Ronald Reagan asked some weeks later the famous question, Mr. Gorbichov, tear down this wall.

  • @jameskovic7146
    @jameskovic7146 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great presentation, Alan. I've been studying the course for years with a group here on Long Island. I found it sitting on a shelf in my office where my wife placed it after being given it by someone. She was indifferent to it as well as I but yet I don't ever remember her talking to me about it. Well, there were somethings we didn't ever discuss and she didn't think I needed to know she was indifferent to it. That's my assumption, really. I don't know, I just saw it on the shelf and pulled it out, leafed through it a little, saw the word Holy Spirit and shut the damn thing and put it back on the shelf. I had a Catholic upbringing of sorts and though loving it as a child, became indifferent to it as a teenager and all throughout my life. It didn't answer my hard questions. When I asked a church elder a simple question about why the church needs to hold bingo games each Saturday, he said, "Well, the church needs money to do it's good works." "I replied very matter a factly as a curious 13 year old, "why don't you pray to God and if you do then he will give you the money." To which he gave me such a confused stare and returned to the lesson he was teaching in my catechism class that Saturday afternoon. Well, 35 years later, I believe I got my answer. It's because of the ego.....period, end of sentence. Hey, I analyze lots of things too but I've also learned to consider alternate points of view given my experience in College in philosophy classes. You just become a good listener. Simple, but not so for the egotistically inclined who are afraid to ask Why. Do what the scientists do and QUESTION EVERYTHING. Do what the Science Channel advises you just prior to the next program it presents and QUESTION EVERYTHING. And if what you question cannot stand up to such a simple test, throw it out, walk away and NEVER look back. Yes, you have the perfect right given to you by God to choose Yes or No and to coast along through how ever many lifetimes you want to screw around with your evolution but then again there is God's Timetable which is beyond time and space and human ignorance irrespective of what's going on or how we feel. God has no idea we're suffering. HE DOESN'T CARE....PERIOD. Once you understand that then you start to get the picture. And now at this point and juncture in time we have a chance to get it right. And I don't want to sound cruel to anybody but basically.....this time.....YOU DO WHAT GOD SAYS, YOU LIVE. OR YOU CAN THINK, "DON'T WORRY, MAN, I GOT THIS." THAT IS A CONCOCTION SURELY FOR DEATH AND I DON'T MEAN THAT IT'S LIMITED TO PHYSICAL DEATH. Have a nice weekend.

    I was recommended from a family* member constantly to watch A Course In Miracles. I am an open minded spiritual person as best I can. Once I got past the cheezy, showboating feeling I had and actually listened to what is being taught, it's all very obvious lessons. Only had a bit of doubt, with some of the indirectness of his answers, as well as the feeling I was being told in some ways, to be a happy, numb, human being. I personally like to get answers from situations I've been through before I can forgive & shrug it off. I like closure, I like feeling. But, yes I would like to be carefree, but knowing I've earned it. Thank You.

    Hi William:
    I regret now, entering into this discussion. I think that if you really want to know, you should ask God, instead of people. Very few people have the answers.
    All I can share with you is my own personal experience. I searched for God for most of my life, that's 50+ years. Most of my life, I spent in a sort of depression. I tried to follow the Bible and the verses, but unlike a few "lucky" people who broke through the tough exterior crust of the Bible and saw and experienced the love, I didn't. I always saw the fear preached and my most favorite book in the Bible was the book of John. I even spent a year collecting "love" verses in the Bible, but I never became convinced.
    So, my search continued. About 4 years ago, I read the book, "The Misunderstood God" which rang true with me and I felt some freedom.
    At the same time, I was also meditating. If you read the parts about Jesus staying all night, you may have thoughts like I did, "what did Jesus do all night long?" "He certainly couldn't have had that much to say to God". So, the answer, "meditation" or quiet communion, a two-way conversation fit the bill. Plus, it says in the Bible: "Be still, and know that I am God" concurred my conclusion that true communication with God is in meditation in which my mouth and my mind are "still" (quiet) and God is able to speak to me.
    After trying to meditate for 6 years, I still felt like I was probing in the darkness. I wasn't sure, which way was right. Finally, God brought me "A Course in Miracles". I tried reading it 3 years ago, but the person who got me to read it, didn't seem to be too close to God. That and the strange discussion group I attended turned me off.
    Then, a year ago, I met an enlightened person. I exchanged many emails with her, asking her many questions and receiving many answers. Finally she said: "Have you read A Course in Miracles?". I said, "I have it, but no, I have not been reading it." So, I went back to reading it.
    As I was studying the Course, I realized that this material was BRILLIANT. No human being could have come up with something so genius. But, I had doubts about its validity/authorship. It just seemed too good to be true. That's when God provided real-life examples.
    First, I was directed to go back and re-read the experiences of Bernadette Roberts, a contemporary enlightened person, who was raised and still is Catholic. Her 3 autobiographical books in which she relates her spiritual experiences both validated the Course and provided an awesome life applications of the text, "A Course in Miracles."
    Then, the others, Teresa of Avila, John of the Cross, Brother Lawrence, Richard Rose, enlightened people featured in the documentaries from Poetry in Motion, etc. confirmed and validated what the Course was teaching and promising. I finally believed the Source of the Course. I also read amazing biographies of the scribes of the Course, Helen Schucman and Bill Thetford. And, so I started seriously studying and applying the Course.
    All this started last July. I have to say that slowly but surely my life is changing. I not only know, but feel loved, cherished, valued. I have and am forgiving others and experiencing the freedom, peace and happiness that comes with it. My life is better in EVERY respect. I believe that the Course explains and clarifies in plain english (especially if you study the "Urtext Manuscript") what the Bible has been trying to teach all along. The Course works for me.
    I don't see the point of discussing and arguing over the sementics. You can take it or leave it.
    There is not just one path to God. All creation is God's child and He is not going to leave anyone out or behind. I, as a parent, would never condemn any of my children, no matter what they did or believed, to a life of hell. And, so, God, the perfect parent does not do it either.
    To conclude this lengthy response, just want to let you know, that I am not interested in pursuing this discussion/argument any more. Believe it or not. It's up to you. But, as I said up front, if you really want the answer(s), ask the Creator of the universe.
    Love, Malgozata

      I love what you wrote here. I feel the same as you regarding the brilliance of the teachings. It is air tight, in my view. I also practice the lessons and have realized the greater peace and happiness that returns to the mind. Once you get a glimmer of light, faith in the teachings grows exponentially. I feel greater peace just knowing that I have the right teaching for me at my fingertips.

      William Keeler Satan (fear, darkness, anger) doesn't bring peace. That's how you know it's not Satan (fear, guilt, sin).
      If Satan can disguise himself as an angel of light, then how do you know Satan isn't deceiving you?

      onemessenja Oh he has in the past, believe me. That was before I repented of my sins and put my faith in Jesus Christ.
      But how do I know Satan isn't deceiving me now? Because I have on the armor of God -- the belt of Truth, the breastplate of righteousness, shoes of the readiness to announce the gospel of peace, and my FAITH as my shield. With this armor I am able to put out all the burning arrows shot by the Evil One. (Ephesians 6:10)

    • @williamkeeler2

      Malgozata Listen to me: You are clearly on the path to destruction. I don't want that for you!!! "There is not just one path to God," you said. You are calling Jesus Christ a liar when you say this. Tread very carefully here.
      As far as your analogy about how a parent is not going to leave anyone behind -YOU ARE RIGHT but you also have it backwards. God is your father and He does not want you to go to hell. BUT YOU ARE CHOOSING TO GO THERE. He's not condemning you. You are CONDEMNING YOURSELF. And, so, God, the perfect parent is letting you live life on your terms, even if it means YOU choosing death over life.
      You said: "I tried to follow the Bible and the verses, but unlike a few "lucky" people who broke through the tough exterior crust of the Bible and saw and experienced the love, I didn't"
      Christianity is not a works based religion. It is not about "following the Bible verses" as much is it is about confessing our sins to God, repenting from them and TRUSTING in Jesus Christ as Lord and savior.
      Please consider that you are on the road to destruction mentioned in Matthew. I will be more than happy to try and offer any help I can in you coming to the Lord.
      Love, Will

      But if God would not want us to "go to Hell" then we would surely never go there... BECAUSE IT'S HIS WILL. Is there anything that can oppose the Will of Creator, the guy who created Will itself?
      And if that's true, then God will never have needed to create Hell. Because it goes against His Will.

      The study of theology, as it stands in Christian churches, is the study of nothing; it is founded on nothing; it rests on no principles; it proceeds by no authorities; it has no data; it can demonstrate nothing; and it admits of no conclusion. Not anything can be studied as a science, without our being in possession of the principles upon which it is founded; and as this is the case with Christian theology, it is therefore the study of nothing.

      There is no charge for A Course in Miracles. You are free to take it whenever you are willing.
      Courses about A Course in Miracles are something else.
      The whole thing - at various levels of its publishing - is freely readable or downloadable - legally, online.
      There are conditions that delay or obstruct your recognition of your freedom that could be called the course in grievances!
      Which we have all learned to operate as if a 'new normal'.
      In these times I used that expression to indicate the value of the teaching to the willingness that wakes a nightmare to seek a true basis from which to release the false and restore the awareness and integrity of truth revealed - rather than truths asserted, wished for and used to bolster a private sense of self-reinforcement.

    • @kernowarty

    • @binra3788
      @binra3788 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kernowarty I offer this witness; to be as a child who knows not and abide in relationship with the quality of an uncompromising Peace. You can seek to 'understand' in your way, and yet the Whole Course is the opportunity and the Relationship in which to release your own thinking for the renewing of your mind.
      The Holy Spirit is the Teacher through all 'teachers' but only to the willingness to learn of truth rather than fit what we take as truths into the old wine bottles of our concepts of self and world, time and space.
      The Gift that will grow through a simple willingness, is a thought system that does not stem from 'problem' to be solved.
      It seems difficult because it is very different than our mind conceives and expects. It also calls us in time and timing to release our mask, our story of self-justified grievance, and this can bring on great fear and intense feelings of humiliation. But this is the living way for moving past fear as the result of looking on it with the Holy Spirit - instead of with the mind fear sets each in , alone, distanced, locked down and masking in layers of complex defences, as if fear can make us safe.
      Whatever way you are moved to approach that is true to where you are now and willing to bring this as a willingness of heart and mind, can not be wrong. So if you believe you must 'understand' in your thought before trusting your heart, then no one is going to stop you living the curriculum you have set up for yourself.
      This moment is the always present opportunity for the demonstration and recognition of the Miracle in place of the grievance. But for many our thinking must be purified of guilt by realignment to the Miracle that you are, of the habits and patterns of a world of problems set in grievance. What I see is the attempt to do the Holy Spirit's function as a result of thinking to understand the meanings of the Course. Of course this usurping of Spirit is the 'function' of the ego, but what does it profit to gain a world and lose our Soul Awareness?

    • @binra3788
      @binra3788 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Indeed the one who gave the Course uses the word "I" in direct relation to the life and teaching, persecution and crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus.
      Here is a section:
      - - -
      The Message of the Crucifixion
      We have not dwelt upon the crucifixion, because of its fearful connotations. The only emphasis we laid upon it was that it was NOT a form of punishment. But we know that nothing can be really explained only in negative terms. There is a positive interpretation of the crucifixion which is wholly devoid of fear, and therefore wholly benign in what it teaches, if it is properly understood. It is nothing more than an extreme example. Its value, like the value of any teaching device, lies solely in the kind of learning it facilitates. It can be, and has been, misunderstood. But this is only because the fearful are apt to perceive fearfully.
      I told you before that you can always call on me to share my decision and thus MAKE IT STRONGER. I also told you that the crucifixion was the last foolish journey that the Sonship need take, and that it should mean RELEASE from fear to anyone who understands it. While we emphasized the Resurrection only before, the purpose of the crucifixion and how it actually LED to the Resurrection was not clarified at that time. Nevertheless, it has a definite contribution to make to your own lives, and if you will consider it WITHOUT fear, it will help you understand your own role as teachers.
      You have reacted for years AS IF you were being crucified. This is a marked tendency of the separated, who ALWAYS refuse to consider what they have done to THEMSELVES. Projection means anger, anger fosters assault, and assault promotes fear. The real meaning of the crucifixion lies in the APPARENT intensity of the assault of some of the Sons of God upon a brother. This, of course, is impossible, and must be fully understood AS an impossibility. In fact, unless it IS fully understood as ONLY that, I cannot serve as a real model for learning.
      Assault can ultimately be made ONLY on the body. There is little doubt that one BODY can assault another, and can even destroy it. But if destruction ITSELF is impossible, then ANYTHING that is destructible cannot be real. Therefore, its destruction does NOT justify anger. To the extent to which you believe it DOES, you MUST be accepting false premises and TEACHING THEM TO OTHERS.
      The message which the crucifixion was intended to teach was that it is not necessary to perceive ANY form of assault in persecution because you cannot BE persecuted. If you respond with anger, you MUST be equating yourself with the destructible, and are therefore regarding yourself insanely. I have made it perfectly clear that I am like you, and you are like me. But our fundamental equality can be demonstrated only through joint decision.
      You are free to perceive yourselves as persecuted if you choose. But you might remember when you DO choose to react that way, that I WAS persecuted as the world judges, and did NOT share this evaluation for myself. And because I did not share it, I did NOT strengthen it. I therefore offered a DIFFERENT interpretation of attack, and one which I DO want to share with you. If you will BELIEVE it, you will help me TEACH it.
      We have said before, "As you teach so shall you learn." If you react as if you are persecuted, you ARE teaching persecution. This is not a lesson which the Sons of God should WANT to teach if they are to realize their own salvation. Rather teach your own perfect immunity, which IS the Truth in you, and KNOW that it cannot be assailed. Do not protect it yourselves, or you have believed that it IS assailable. You are not asked to BE crucified, because that was part of my own teaching contribution. You are merely asked to follow my example in the face of much less extreme temptations to misperceive, and NOT to accept them falsely as justifications for anger.
      - - -

      In todays world, (2 years on from your post) we have a new set of symbols for distancing, lockdown and masking a hate in virtue as the lid over an unhealed fear as a narrative dictate that seeks to persecute non compliance as a means to coerce allegiance. As the deeper fear and its devices are exposed, the Course may speak very clearly to the true need, and the willingness we have grown through our acceptance of the Call to joy, shall serve to hold our faith in place of the 'separation trauma' that is rising to be healed - but that we will not recognise as such when triggered to react within its frame.

    I still reject the assumption behind your question that we know which words in the NT were actually spoken by JC

    • @binra3788
      @binra3788 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      When you uncover what is written in your own heart, you shall know - without a word.
      To bring 'words' into a world of image and form serving conflicted meanings will be interpreted one way by the fear that is driven to seek its own salvation and another by the willingness to bring that fear to the light of the awareness in which the Heart's truth reveals itself as the Holy Spirit of a true discernment.
      A universal theology is impossible and uncalled for but the universal experience is summarised in the two Commandments Jesus restated .
      "'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' "You shall love your neighbour as yourself."
      The true 'external' world is the gift of the Holy Spirit, not a material authority set past and future over true presence.
      I don't see any good coming from setting controversy or joining it - excepting the witness to undo or resolve seeming conflicts, wherever such willingness calls forth and allows.
      Even if you had the exact utterances of the day in their various tongues, you would need the cultural context for their understanding to that time.
      The Holy Spirit is the translation of all communication to the heart of one in all.
      So the willingness now is the timing for such communion now.
      The wish to gain an understanding needs to be realigned to serve an active willingness for wholeness here and now - or the unhealed healer sets off with a partial understanding and meets conflicted outcomes which of course serve as our curriculum for understanding that we did not understand and asking and aligning to stand under that which reveals to our true desire because it was never denied.

    Gary Sellers - for whatever reason I could not reply below when you replied to +onemessenjah with
    "And i don't need a blood sacrifice to wake up to Heaven. No one does" Straight from the serpent's mouth. You will perish in your sins and live eternally in the lake of fire. You've called your Maker a liar and that shows you're dead in sins and your accusations against me of "arsenic" are nothing better than dishonest hypocrisy. End of story. You are a deceiver."
    Actually Christian scripture validates that Christ went to the cross as a blood sacrifice, a one time final sacrifice for all of our sins:
    "He entered once for all into the holy places, not by means of the blood of goats and calves but by means of his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption.
    For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the sprinkling of defiled persons with the ashes of a heifer, sanctify for the purification of the flesh, how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God" Hebrews 9:12-14
    for each of us so that we no longer need our own blood sacrifice, but to simply accept Christ into our lives and when we do, we are given eternal life and essentially get to wake up in Heaven after our own physical death. And to continue to think that any of us has need for our own sacrifice is completely overlooking and disregarding what Christian scripture teaches has already been done for us. I see what onemessenjah said not as any untruth but perhaps a deeper understanding of what already has been done by Jesus.
    Yet you would rush to not just misunderstanding the statement as false, but worse, going further to somehow feel righteous in stating that someone is now dead to and will perish from their sin and claiming they said God was a liar, all of which is untrue, yet then take it a step further by pronouncing judgment which no man has absolutely no authority to make in place of our Father.
    I would say if anyone were to have words of untruth and a voice of hypocrisy, it certainly wasn't onemessenjah. But it does sadden me that you somehow feel empowered or have the right to use the precious gift that our Father gave through His own Son for you, yourself, in a manner which shows none of that same love but further feels warranted to be passing judgment on anyone else.

      ***** I'm curious where you get your authority to stand in judgment of any man or woman? It is certainly not given in Christian scripture and in fact it is clearly said in Matthew 7:1, Luke 6:37 and other passages that we are not to judge. Since no man can pronounce judgment on a child of God especially one who has already been given salvation, your words of judgment really fall on deaf ears here, although I might guess our Father might not be so deaf to the source..
      And I'm curious how you interpret Hebrews 9:12-14 if that isn't saying that Christ gave his own blood sacrifice, specifically the "but by means of his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption"
      Finally surely there can be room for a theological debate on scripture doctrine without you pulling the Satan card continuously? Oh wait it seems you have chosen to sit in the seat of our Father in judgment instead. Might I remind you the last person who attempted to place himself at or above our Father really didn't fare very well.

      Ken Etter "And i don't need a blood sacrifice to wake up to Heaven." That exposes plainly, for all to see your rejection of the Words of God and your desire to receive a lie. Jesus said if you don't believe that He is "I am" you shall die in your sins and His blood is the sacrifice that cleanses us from sin. You're a liar and worse, you've lied to yourself about the claims Jesus plainly made. He said the reason you do that is that your deeds are evil. (Jn 3:19) Read it for yourself.

    Let me be clear. It doesn't take Jesus to love. It doesn't take Jesus to forgive. Many think it does and say it does but they're careless with their mouths and with their Bible reading. In fact the Bible says that if you don't forgive, you won't be forgiven. Now, that makes it pretty clear which comes first, right? Yet, that's not exactly wholly true. Spiritual life is like natural life. the principles can be used at an "appropriate" moment rather than in a strict regimen of discipline. Some Christians don't really get that. Almost all of us have an unfortunate tendency to think the way we see things is "the" way. Maturity increases our understanding and appreciation of the very wide diversity God has made in making every single person unique.
    Nevertheless, Jesus, in pray to His Father, said, "Your Word is truth." (Jn 17:17) and also the OT says The sum of your word is truth, and each righteous ordinance of yours is everlasting. (Ps 119:160)
    It's not my fault that God gave you a choice and said that He would judge you if you didn't take it. You see, since Jesus paid your judgment in full, you really have no more excuse for rebellion. :-)

    • @GarySellars
      @GarySellars 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ken Etter What are you doing on this page? Why do you claim to believe the Bible and say things like this: " and what some might characterize as hell is how it was given to them as symbolic as being separated for eternity, to be left to our own torment and when left to an eternity of separation, it will appear as a lake of fire to some?"
      Where does the Bible give you the privilege or option to talk about how things "appear" that God's Word specifically addresses without your contingencies?
      Where are you going with this? I've been in this 43 years and have been taught by God from day 1 when He appeared to me and started giving me revelation. What is your agenda with me? God is love; He is also holy, holy holy and He is also a Warrior. If you want to put all your eggs in a "God is love and that is all" basket, you can do that, but you're susceptible to deception and many off-the-wall doctrines, like the one represented on this page. Sound doctrine is established by having no other agenda than believing and hearing Him. Do you hear His voice? Clearly? Do you know your calling? What is it?
      Do you know how you misrepresented the truth in your remarks? Would you like to know? Would you listen?
      Tell me straight up, is Rev 21:8 absolutely, unequivocally true? After you tell me, tell me why the cowardly and unbelieving head the list. Why are liars the only ones with "all" attached? Are they worse than murderers or does it mean all murderers won't necessarily be cast into the Lake of Fire?
      Is the Lake of fire really that or is God just using symbolic language? Is God really going to put all liars (and the others) in a lake of fire for all of eternity? Is that fair of God? Is it fair of us to decide if God is fair?
      I think the questions are simply enough phrased and warrant simple, straightforward answers without deceit. Can you answer them that way?

    • @GarySellars
      @GarySellars 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ken Etter You've just told me that you don't believe the Bible but are a liar and deceiver. You've not answered my questions, deliberately, to hide your deceit because because you are deceived and you don't know the Spirit of Truth, you don't realize how thoroughly you reveal your deceit and your deception.
      You think you're wise because you reject the Scriptures literally and believe them the way the serpent tells you but you think that's God. Well, it's not.
      *I hope we're through now*. You're held captive by the devil to do his will because you thought you were to smart to"see through" believing the Bible. You exalted yourself to see the "higher things," which are really darkness.
      You know enough of the Bible to understand that God's requirement upon you is to "repent and believe." Your pretentiousness towards the Scriptures is called "unbelief" by God.

    • @GarySellars
      @GarySellars 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ken Etter Let's stop this. You're deceived Ken. You don't even see the truth about the new birth, the most basic truth to learn and you think you have have greater revelation above the written text. That's the sure marked of a deceived man. So, go away and enjoy your deception!

    • @GarySellars
      @GarySellars 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ken Etter You have no idea of my authority because you don't know God and you don't hear His voice. I know you don't; you know you don't.
      "but I have been given revelation far past the literal words written on a page." And where in the Bible would we find that gift and does the Bible presume to have authority over this? You don't know, do you. If you do, tell me the verse. That would be "two or three verses" but you didn't know that either, or why or where? You're a lying wannabe, Ken and you're so ignorant, you don't have any idea how I know you're so ignorant. It's because I do hear Him and I believe His Word and know it far better than you, but not in my head. I don't memorize Scripture. I believe it.
      Let me give you the pattern here. When a man tells the woman he loves, "I love you and want to marry you," do you think she says, "Wait, let me make a mental note here. 'Note to self. Remember what he's wearing, where we are, what time it is...'" Is that what happens? Nope. You know that because you have knowledge in the flesh. Nope, she remembers because it reached her heart and when the heart is moved it takes root. That's why I know you're bogus. Because I heard the Lord and you didn't. You've believed lies. Like I said, you don't even have the new birth down. It's not a ticket to heaven. it's knowing God NOW. If you don't have that, you're just lying to yourself about all this revelation beyond the text. *THE TEXT COMES FIRST, BOY*. Because you don't "GET THAT" what you have is as phony as a three dollar bill. The very fact that you believe the lie on this page is proof that you don't know God.
      Now, that's not to say you don't have fire insurance. But fire insurance isn't permanent, but you don't understand that either, do you?
      You can't and you won't, because you're so proud, you want to be right. That's why you didn't answer my questions. You're a spiritual ignoramus and you don't know the Bible. You're deceived. The Word of God does have hidden meaning and depth, but you know none of it because you can't be trusted with the surface text. God doesn't give treasure to fools who reject the simple instructions of Jesus. If I asked you what they were, you wouldn't be able to tell me. Prove me wrong. Go ahead. You won't because you can't. You don't know the Word well enough.

    • @GarySellars
      @GarySellars 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ken Etter Since you've refused to answer my questions and instead postured with braggadocio when you're clearly and evidently ignorant, I will not answer your questions. Surely you remember when the Pharisees asked Jesus where He got his authority, He asked them a question and they, like you, wouldn't answer. :-)
      You lied. You couldn't answer my questions or you would have. I remind you again of the Lord calling the pharisees liars just as I've called you a liar and you have proved it while bragging of your great revelation. I could ask you questions about that revelation that you couldn't answer and I know that because you can't answer the simple ones. You see, that's revelation that I have that you don't. God doesn't reward the stiff-necked with deeper revelation when he won't learn the elementary lessons.
      You believe this doctrine of demons that is pseudo-love and you're pleased and proud of yourself, yet you don't understand how contrary to love that reveals you really are. Pride and love do not go together and you've proved your pride every single time you've opened your mouth.
      So, you'll keep bragging because it's your cover that you pretend that protects you from being exposed, but you don't know or believe 1Cor 2:14-16. You've rejected truth for a lie. Had you not, you would have wanted to answer my questions because true Believing ones love to confirm they're of the same family. They don't posture and pretend, "Oh, I have such great revelation that you just wouldn't understand. We see that *nowhere* in Scripture. It's subterfuge to lie and deceive and pretend you believe the Bible when such deceive exposes that you don't believe at all.

      Dissociation.
      The capacity to deny and excommunicate fear and hate from the mind is the capacity to be run by it unknowing.
      So own your own experience and recognise that the resonance with others is bring that to you.
      What you then choose is up to you.
      Evil begets evil begets evil.
      When or where will it stop?
      When all evils have been eradicated by righteous vengeance?
      You are looking at a part of your own heart and the hate that poisons you.
      If rage is blind - how will you know that your 'justice' is not doing the very thing you hate in others?
      Give vengeance to the Lord, means do not nurture and host it as if a source of identity and power.
      What goes around will come around.
      Give only as you would in truth receive.
      You are not called on or given right to judge another - lest you be judged in your own measure.

    My understanding of the Course in Miracles is very different. Alan talks about seeing the perfection in a precious little newborn and feeling good about another person who was praying for him during a meeting of like-minded people. So far so good. But then Alan talks about a politician and it is obvious he doesn't like or agree with the politician who "started problems". Apparently it is okay for the ego to step in and judge and condemn and see a person as separate if they don't agree with your viewpoints. My disagreement is The Course doesn't allow exceptions for judging people if you don't like them.

    First, Jesus was raised in a traditional Jewish family and culture. They had very strict rules on handling blood so NO, I don't believe that the New Testament has been translated correctly on every word. What existed during the time of Jesus was The Torah. The New Testament did not exist during his time. The earliest evidence found was that the New Testament was written 200 to 300 years after Jesus lived. Jesus did not come to start a new religion. William and Gary, if the rest of us, that read ACIM are lost, then what about all the Jewish people who do not believe in the New Testament and do not believe that Jesus was the Messiah? Are they, God's chosen people, lost and going to Hell? Why did Constantine, Roman Emperor, choose only to include the books we know as the bible and not all the books that were written? There are over 100. This was decided at The Counsel of Nicaea. The Christian doctrine was established by the Romans. The very people who tortured and crucified hundreds and hundreds of followers of Christ and hung them on a cross in the hundreds for all who followed Jesus to see what they would get for that act. So, these same ruthless, cold people who crucified Jesus and cut off the head of John, the Baptist, decided what Christian dogma would be. Think the Romans may have had any motive in controlling the information about Jesus and what he taught? The most I've ever been hurt is in a Christian Church. If the hate that you two are spewing and the hate that I've experienced in a Christian church are what it means to be a Christian, then no thank you. From all the research I've done and the discussions I've had, Jesus taught love and forgiveness. There is more power in love, forgiveness and kindness. Jesus said to "Love our enemies." Since I've been studying ACIM(over 3 years now) I pray more to God than I ever have. I talk more to Jesus than I ever have. I pray without ceasing. I still read the bible also. I just don't trust the Romans that put it together and translated it. I hope you look up the history of what was going on in Jesus's time and how our bible came to be. Any time anyone tells me that their way is the only way to God, I immediately know to be careful around them. I also know that our critics and enemies teach us lessons and make our faith stronger. Whewwww....I use to think just like you two. Whewww...I hope you wake up soon and realize how many souls you have chased away from the church. I will pray for you both because if you two can make these kinds of judgments you have here, then I wonder how bad you can really get. After all, you had to come searching for this. I wonder why you feel so threatened.

    Course in miracles was not channeled it was scribed. Huge difference. Also not once, not one time does he tell these people what the court says for you to do which is to ask for guidance. To have a conscious contact with the holy spirit which is the bridge from this illusion to sanity. Also in the beginning when Helen began scribes in the course, the entity that she was speaking with did you tell her that it was Jesus. It was much later. And to understand a course in miracles, you must understand that Jesus is only a symbol. The course uses Christian terminology, but has nothing to do with Christianity. These are very important points for people just coming to the course. Because if you don't get the term symbol, you'll have much difficulty. It's a simple course for complicated people. Yet let's not make it more complicated than we already do.

Helen didn't channel. She heard "the voice" and scribed what it told her to write down. Big difference. A simple google search would have explained this. Helen never had "the voice" come into or take over her body.

Man, the ugliest most vile species on Earth does the most despicably cruel things to animals. Only an extremely ugly soul and empty black heart does these things. How can we accept, overlook or turn our backs on it, become enlightned and free yet allow their suffering to continue? Every time I start to absorb GOD, my thoughts come back to their plight and I feel so selfish and lowly. it is not just about us, we have to always think about the animals. What is the answer? I want all animal abusers to suffer exactly the same abuse as they inflict!!! What does that do to my enlightenment. If GOD is real, why should innocent animals suffer of and on and over. It is not an illusion or trick of the mind o do my ears not hear their screams and see their broken bodies??? Creations of light, step up and stop it please!!!!!!

    In order to be a believer of A Course in Miracles, you must attack the deity of Jesus Christ. ACIM only works if Jesus Christ is just a man, like you or me. If we believe the Bible and Jesus Christ is actually 100% God, then the whole Course falls apart.
    Like Pontius Pilate, we all must ask, "What then shall I do with Jesus who is called the Christ?" (Matthew 27:22)
    So who is Jesus Christ to you personally? Is he just a man or is he God Himself?
    Your answer to this question will have eternal ramifications. Please consider it carefully.

There are real evils whose main goal is to to hurt people. So you what, just wink, smile and nod at those people? I don’t understand.

      The Gift of the Spirit is alway honouring and fitting to who you are, to who your child is and to all who are involved, and the attempt to go forth with one's own gift of insight can be partial and blinkered.
      An identity polarised to betrayal, hurt and hate sets in vengeance agains perceived evils including a capacity to hate its life and world.
      No one in this world but has some seed of capacity to resonate with the pain of felt betrayal and loss of love, and you know directly by your experience of this.
      A public internet is not the place to bring deeply personal matters to the unseeing and dissociated who can trample with 'good intentions'.
      A Course in Miracles serves an Intimacy directly from the heart of you to the Voice for God that knows you truly though all in this world have masked in self-illusion such as to cover an Innocence or Holiness with a self and world set against fear of pain of loss.
      As part of opening to Spirit, we can be given a level of experience that we then have to choose to align in living from even when the world and ego return as the habits of thought, word and deed that are released by the choosing to act from a new place.
      So thank you for your honesty, and consider that the qualities of such honesty given faith in witness, will not glorify or exalt evil or grievance, but uncover a deeper point of recognition. This point is given you to live from as a result of willingness to receive it. Hate and vengeance - which can mask as virtue and concern, are blind to anything but that it serves their purpose or has none.
      The key I offer is that the Course is focussed upon the healing of your heart and mind as one, and not on the world, and yet your world shall be healed with you, though this does not seem possible to the idea that the world is the determiner and definer of who and what we are.
      Disturbance that is in your heart is also within the sphere of your capacity to allow in your own steps of willingness to be healed.
      But no one can heal what they are assigning outside and away, or deep hidden and protected.
      I say the Course is already simple and direct, but that thinking in the world cannot see or hear it. However, a child learns by being in the new terms by allowing them to speak through the living. If we 'translate' the Course into the terms of an upside down world, we dilute its message by rendering it as self serving. This is true of all Spiritual Communication or Messengers.
      If you are moved, look to the source material within the movement. there is nothing in A Course in Miracles that says it is the only way. There is no coercion in God - but in the self and world we believe we have made is no true Peace.
      Spirituality can be used as a means to not feel or truly address the disturbance of the Human Conditioning, just as can the FORM of anything else.
      But if we let spirituality mean reintegration and healing of self and world to a quality of appreciation that inspires gratitude for being and shines or shares in ways that our current sense of time and space cannot apprehend - but we do recognise in our current terms as a blessing in place of a curse or conflict - then whatever we might 'think', something has gone right, and any such moment can be built upon, not least by giving it honour in our heart, rather than rushing off as if we have become 'spiritual'. But we all learn also by mistakes.

    "Is EVERY WORD spoken by Jesus in the Bible true? Yes or No" I reject the premise of the question: that we can know for certain how many of the words attributed to JC were actually spoken by him. The gospels weren't written until at least 35-75 years after JC supposedly lived. Of course I also think ACIM is full of nonsense.

      Keeler...read acim and all will be explained...jesus in the bible is but a shadow of his teachings...most of it misunderstood....and rejected by seperation theology.....jesus is still being crucified by you, and those that stand in opposition to his real teachings....

    • @bearnurse1
      @bearnurse1 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      ACIM doesn't explain anything. It is a bunch of assertions about Jesus that the author claims Jesus himself told her. How could anyone verify a claim like that?

      Bearnurse1....ACIM is designed to be experienced..read study and apply the principals of ACIM, and the truth will be reveled to you..it's a journey to realize your true identity..the proof is in the pudding..

      Yes you are free to think as you choose.
      But while attention spans are disappearing, our forebears held a living culture in memory.
      I am not interested in either the premise, its historical controversy, or what you think about A Course in Miracles.
      Follow where your heart and mind find resonance, or choose dissonance.

    Another thing. I am reading the Book of Chronicle's in The Bible. I find it vary depressing about the wars & violent's . Matter of fact the 2nd, set 6 Books after Genesis . I find that I can't relate to that God at all

      Pray to Jesus Christ and repent from any sin in your life. Ask Jesus to reveal Himself to you through His word - the Bible, and He will. He is waiting for you. Run to Him.

      Keeler...you can not relate to the god of the bible because he dosent exist...he was made in mans image by fearfull jealous men..god is none of these things.. And god will prove that to you through acim..

    I'm a bit concerned about Helen and Bill's worry that the course may upset Jewish sensibilities or threaten their jobs. WTF ? You're chosen by God to spread his word, surely all else would fall by the way.

    • @williamkeeler2
      @williamkeeler2 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      "You're chosen by God to spread his word" That is A LIE. The Jesus presented in ACIM is a false Jesus created by the devil himself to deceive you from finding your Father.

    Helen was an ATHEIST! ISN'T IT AMAZING who Jesus chose to be his scribe!

      Well if you want - but she wrote a lot of poetry that is overtly religious.
      So She was not outwardly aligned to any organised religion and was very private.
      If you read the UrText you would get a little more sense of Helen and Bill actually receiving the material and it includes extra notes for them, their strengths and weaknesses and joint will.
      Jesus was not all about 'Jesus' - but revealing us all to our Self, as we are willing to accept.
      All are Called but few choose to listen.
      Helen had a special function' in the world. It did not happen easily.
      So have we all, if we let our lives serve an alignment with the listening, given willingness.
