John. We have all cautioned you about breathing the smoke at these fire scenes. You do a wonderful job telling the incredible stories of the FDNY. We prefer you care for yourself so your on-scene reporting can continue for many more years.
I agree. At 81, I have chronic bronchitis! I quit smoking 26 years ago. I’m thankful it’s not cancer (YET), but it still is uncomfortable and requires two inhalers to control it. I find I can’t get enough air when I wear a mask, so I had to stay home when masks were required during the epidemic (except for weekly grocery shopping). Please take care of yourself and put fire watching second!
Tin ceiling panels haven't been widely used since about 1930, although they are still manufactured. My dad and I replaced tin ceilings in a couple of large rooms in a local old school building in about 1952, using Celotex. We were covered in about 25 years of dust and insect remains as the tiles came down. But we weren't smart enough to sell the hundreds of tiles to a restoration company.
I'm a new follower, and actually this is the first time following anyone, but first I want to wish you and your family a very healthy and happy new year! Secondly I applaud what you do here. Your dedication is commendable. I appreciate you highlighting the dangerous work police officers and firefighters do each and everyday (EMT as well). Looking forward to your next video. Stay well sir.
“Happy New Year!” In contrast to other channels that offer on-scene FDNY firefighting, John, your channel is the very best! The actual comms, the “angles” you provide, and your wealthy of knowledge and how you seamlessly integrate it into the video distinguishes your efforts above all the others. Simply put, “THEMAJESTIRIUM is the best!” Keep up the good work and please take care of yourself. (Every aspect of the fire grounds is a dangerous one my friend.)
The marquee ad was truth in advertising: “coffee, cold beverages, grocery, and SMOKE SHOP.” Heavy on the “smoke shop.” Speaking of which: John, you spend more time in the smoke than most FDNY members. We all really enjoy your work. If you sustain a smoke injury, including a long term one, we’ll all suffer.
great arrival timing john…perfect! very exciting to watch FDNY work the fire and knock it down in about 20 minutes they are great firefighters. thanks for the coverage john
The deli is actually the renowned “Frank’s Deli” and at one point, you can actually see him come out with the cashier register receipts in a black plastic bag.
Bro love your channel! I’ve been buffin’ it for awhile and man so nice! Grew up in NY and became a career FF in NC. Been out since 2010 and miss it soooo much.
I hope the same (happy) family owned both Bodegas! You always go the extra 10 blocks (mile) for us!! I can’t imagine watching my business turned into that mess in mere minutes. Grub and some rest is the order of the day! 😃 ❤️🔥🚒❤️🔥
Great catch, John! You caught the aggresive attack initiated by the arriving FDNY members and the quick knockdown. Enjoyed the prior video as well for other reasons but am glad you decided to haul and catch this one. This also demonstrates the flexibility of FDNY response, having units respond so quickly to a fire that is only minutes away from an ongoing fire. Take care of yourself, JJ! Running to the scene and going through heavy smoke can't be great for your health. Best wishes for a Healthy and Happy New Year!
Wow two in a row! Great job on both. The FDNY did a magnificent job on both. As Dennis Smith said in an interview (Getting Salty Experience) if you’re FDNY trained you can do anything. Hope the rest of the night was quiet.
Personally, I think if the FDNY asked the Squad 99 personnel where PPE they would, but because they’re up close and personal and they don’t seem to mind it, but works for them works for them
John, the planks across the roof are there to protect the roof from falling debris coming off of the taller structure on the 4 side that is under going renovation. Similar to how the sidewalk shed is protecting the sidewalk below from falling construction debris
I like how places say they are delicatessen’s when they are not. I used to work in the South Bronx & I never saw a German or Jewish delicatessen? It’s a stretch to call theses places to buy sandwiches. I found they mostly sold cold beer & loosey’s of cigarettes. Maybe pork rinds & some questionable items under a heat lamp. Often when I bought items they had to be sealed from the manufacturer. That is no guarantee though as I bought a chocolate bar & the milk chocolate was way past date. It only had the shape of a chocolate bar but the chocolate was white from age. This was right at the front of the rack. I was later told their customers don’t gravitate to those items. No one buys those? Except a kid from the suburbs like me.
When is the last time they sold any deli meats in that store. Reminds me of a little deli near my grade school. You couldn't move in there and the smell of cheese was horrible.
When I see a small business like this get hit by fire, I always feel sad. Most places like this are the dream of a single family, or have been around for generations serving the locals. It's worse because we tend to know the owners personally if they are in our neighbourhood.
I had a little giggle over the services offered. The last one was “SMOKE SHOP” and smoke was pouring out the door! I know, I have a strange sense of humour.
I've got a idea for you incase you ever get a sweet tooth during the day goto the cake body there in jersey I heard his store is awsome to get your sweet tooth fix

Need to wear masks. These firefighters to there not wearing masks all time either.... great comment 👍 THANKS
I agree, these videos are interesting, but that are not John injuring himself.

It broke my ❤️ seeing them pull the tin ceilings.
Two deli's next toeach other, hmmmm. Competition? Or owned by same person. Happy New Year! Investigation continues.
Great coverage and this was a aggressive attack by the FDNY this is why they are the best in the world 2N2 my friend

HAHAHA.....I TOTALLY AGREE.....THANKS SO MUCH.....
Hi hi 👋🏻
thankfully a backup deli right next door
When is the last time they sold any deli meats in that store. Reminds me of a little deli near my grade school.
You couldn't move in there and the smell of cheese was horrible.
surprised they hadn’t taken out the big glass with the yummy 🤤 pastrami samage [southern dude in me] yes yes sandwich 🥪 word play.
Great job, but with so many fires in such a short time you're going to need reinforcements. I volunteer.
When I see a small business like this get hit by fire, I always feel sad. Most places like this are the dream of a single family, or have been around for generations serving the locals. It's worse because we tend to know the owners personally if they are in our neighbourhood.
I TOTALLY AGREE.....THANKS SO MUCH.....
Happy New Year John. Isn't this the second Deli fire in the past few days?
I had a little giggle over the services offered. The last one was “SMOKE SHOP” and smoke was pouring out the door! I know, I have a strange sense of humour.
IT WAS COMICAL INDEED VICKY.....THANKS SO MUCH.....
I didn't want my sandwhcich toasted.
From the looks and all that sheet metal it was in if it haven't been in there that fire would have been far worse.
I've got a idea for you incase you ever get a sweet tooth during the day goto the cake body there in jersey I heard his store is awsome to get your sweet tooth fix
John, you are eating too much smoke for not being a firefighter. A respirator is your friend.
YES, I AGREE....THANKS SO VERY MUCH.....
you can run a little brother it might be a busy day
2 delis in 2 days. One on LI. Sad.
