Song is about an older man, looking back to his younger days of his youth, and how strong and sturdy we are, as opposed to when we get older, and our bodies begin to show the signs of age, and the little aches and pains that begin to become a part of our everyday life. 'Main Steet' 'Nut bush city limits', 'You'll accompany me', Night moves' (one of my favs), just to name a few. I grew up watching him in small venues around my town, before he got famous. He is from MIchigan like me.

He loves Michigan and the auto industry and fully supports the company and American auto workers. Reportedly he accepted much less than the normal pay for the commercials.

Front row of the Joe and Harry Freeman Colliseum in San Antonio in early 80s I sat and took in my hero Bob Seger. He was/is the master songwriter/performer. He had two huge beautifully painted buses in front of the Colliseum. One of the buses had a woman's name in the marquee; the other one had "No One You Know." I'll never forget when the spotlight shined on the sax player for "Turn The Page." Good times, man, good times.

Every great song has a hook line and, in my opinion as a writer, it's "I see myself again" which shows the protagonist accepting the passing of years and age, yet fiercely announcing that he still has his FIRE! 🔥🔥 This one, Against The Wind, Roll Me Away, etc. always either MOVE me or pump me up! Bob is yet another loved one on my long list and we are both native Midwesterners (CA resident now, but the roots never leave you). To me, he embodies the true American spirit. Bob said it was one of the finest overdub sessions he had ever heard when Rick performed it. I always encourage people to check out one of Bob's most powerful songs, "Famous Final Scene". It'll put a lump in your throat because Bob's one of the best storytellers ever.

This song was played at my brother's funeral. My mom wanted it played cause she always told him he was her rock. He asked me about four days before he passed what we would all do if the rock crumbled and fell..we didn't know he had cancer. He walked into the hospital on his own two legs and within 6 hours he was gone. Septic shock hit his organs. My mom died 98 days later.
