Brings back childhood memories of my weekends at my grandparents farm in Franklin County, VA. Been over 50 years ago, but times I'll never forget. My papa's 135 MF and a sickle mower. Thanks for bringing us back to a simpler time of how it used to be!
I could listen to that tractor and mower all night!! For some reason it is a relaxing sound to me. I’m sure if it were right in my ear I may feel different. Thanks for the video!!
I find mowing with my Ford 4000SU and Massey 41 dynabalance mower is very theraputic for me but as you said it is stressful at times when the mower breaks down, especially since Massey no longer supports that mower and parts are very hard to come by. The thing that really amazes me is how well your Massey mower cuts with the grass that wet! With both my old New Holland 451 and the Massey 41 sickle mowers I have a devil of a time keeping the knife clean in the wet grass. I should study your setup closely. Nice job and I really enjoy watching you work that 245 like a master.
As always great video. Love that Massey as always too. That's a great combination. Sickle mowers and damp, wet hay are sometimes pretty finicky but you sure seemed to have no problem and must have been pretty confident to give it a shot before heading to church! Thanks for sharing.
We use to have a double like that and when it was running correctly it would flat lay the acreage down. I love to see some of this older iron still getting it done.
I know, those sickle towers are not as efficient and all that but there is something about watching the grass fall over in neat rows. Thats something you don't get to see with the modern equipment and I find it soothing to watch. But then I am getting old and that may be it.
Another great video Ben.Sure is a lot of fog,but still so beautiful. That is some beautiful green grass, know it will make some nice square or round bales.Just wondering if you oil the sickle bar with used tractor oil,my grandfather did.Take care,be safe and have a blessed day.🚜👏👍🙏❤️
I dont know that I even remember how but I would love to mow some hay with an old mowing machine like that. I thought about buy one but I dont have any hay to mow. 😄
I was tempted to start mowing hay yesterday but we’ve had so much rain the ground is just saturated. I figured I’d make a mess out of the hay fields and it’d be a fight trying to hurry up and get it to dry. I understand what ya mean about the cycle mower. Sometimes it’s just fun to bring out the old equipment
Good Morning Sir, The London Fog As Reach You 👌👍😇 Your Green field are so grown up, up here folks are starting to cut their grass this week end but mine will be cut next week end to give the chance to the bee's 😇👍👌 OUTSTANDING VIdeo Sir Cheers 👍👍😇😇🍻🍻
Love seeing the sickle mower in action. I just went through an old NH 451 sickle. Look forward to using it first cutting some. What’s your favorite type of sections for cutting grass hay?
There's nothing wrong with the way that mower cuts grass, plus I would want to use the Massey on those hills since it's low to the ground. Some of the flat landers up north here might be chicken to mow those hills but don't let them call you crazy.
Where did mammaw live. Once when you were pushing snow you gave the impression she lived over by your dad so you work over behind your house and say you're behind mamaws"'s
It’s down the paved road across from my house. Dad lives on out the road a ways. You’ve probably not seen his house unless you’ve watched some early channel videos.
Finally a farmer that is using a Massey Ferguson Tractor. Love those machines, including all their equipment.
I’m a big fan of Massey Equipment. Especially the 200 series tractors. Thanks

You know Ben it sure does bring a smile on my face too, thanks and God Bless
Great! Thank you
Congrats on getting started!
Thank you!!
That Massey is a great tractor. It is always sooooo hard to decide to cut. Mother Nature doesn’t always corporate. Enjoyable video Ben. Thanks
It’s a gamble. Thanks for watching
Good morning. Always enjoy the videos.
Glad you like them! Thanks
A properly set and adjusted sickle mower cuts much cleaner than a disc mower, not as fast but in my opinion much better
Yes sir! Thanks for watching
I took a chance on 1st hay cut too Ben. Tried out new cutter. I'm gonna send you a pic of it. Be safe
Good luck! I hope to bale today. Nice looking mower also. Thanks

Great video buddy 👍 Massey running good 👍

Great video. I cut same day, a little south of you in TN with an old haybine instead of hooking up the disc mower 😂
Good luck! We should bale tomorrow. Thanks for watching
