It was 5 °F (-15 °C) when we filmed our “Nordic Solstice” video, so we guess we’re lucky our fingers didn’t get frostbitten! A fun fact is that the hottest temperature we filmed a video in was for our “Hotel California” video, where it was 106 °F (41.1 °C) in the desert. So we have now filmed our videos in a span of 101 °F (38 °C). Anything to get a great video for all of you! :D :D
Thank you to our Patreon supporters for making our “Nordic Solstice” music video possible! Many of our past videos have been filmed while we were already on the road for performances. We often have to wait many months (sometimes even over a year) to be traveling through an area where we want to film a specific video. However, we were able to take a specific trip just to film our “Nordic Solstice” music video because of our incredible supporters on Patreon. “Nordic Solstice” is an original song and thus has an even greater place in our hearts than our covers. That was quite an adventure, braving extreme cold, potential wolves and dark icy roads through scenery that was reminiscent or the Blair Witch. You literally go the extra mile to bring us your spectacular videos :)
I love these cute "behind-the-scenes" videos! It makes me appreciate the effort it takes to make one of these Harp videos, not to mention lugging around that equipment. Man, it looked cold out there; I'm shivering just looking at that weather; I would have offered you both hugs to warm up! You looked amazing in those costumes, you should both act on an episode of "Vikings", you both have the Nordic beauty to play Viking women!

I just had some Mountain Dew with picante or salsas something like that.Doesnt sound to good, I was surprised it was pretty good.I don't know if Mountain Dew makes a diet version.I like better than regular it's Spicy Good! in the cold of winter.

I've watched this behind-the-scenes video now for the fifth time (I think?) and it's always funny to watch, I just took the time to leave a comment now. I love it, to see how you scout your locations, and how you move harps that weigh nearly as much as you do. 😊 Filming under such conditions must be hard, today outside it's only half as cold as in your video and still I'm freezing, you girls are as tough as the roots of the mountains. ❄❄

P.S. I found you at the end of November 2020 so the following question might be answered by you years ago.... you mention that the warmest location you filmed was for "Hotel California", but this video seems to be missing from TH-cam. I know your arrangement from listening to your "Harp Attack 2" album, so I wondered where the video might be gone to. Did you remove it? If it's a difficult question, I don't need to know details; I'll understand.
You guys crack me up the way you are always creeping eachother out. This video shows how very hard you work to make such excellent videos! You are amazing . The BEST you are! You would rule the Vikings with your very presence!

One thing bad about bein there where it is so cold is that you had to play your harps without gloves with fingers. Burrrrr.

I'm not sure if this question has been asked before, but are the harps used for these shots the "good" harps? Or are they like a functional prop harp? If they are good harps, are they affected by the cold temperatures? Just curious.

Wow, that was so cool ... er, no pun intended! A wonderful look at how that video came to be. All that snow and ice stuff looks very picturesque, but as an old Detroit boy, I understand SO well just how it feels to be that cold! Which is why it all looks so much better, from here in the sunny South! (Georgia.) Believe me, m'dears, your efforts are appreciated so very much! (Don't the harps go out of tune every minute or so, in that weather? My guitars always did ... And speaking of the sunny South, y'might like to consider a shoot by the two old Civil War forts in Savannah. Still maintained and in good condition, but cannon ball dents on the outer walls make for a sobering reminder ... y'know.) It's now almost Yule, and it was sixty degrees yesterday ... ;)
