Isn't it a bit strange and contradictory to design a slender aircraft with wings i.e. meant to fly in a gaseous atmosphere at high velocity, and at the same time flank it at the rear with a gigantic vertical plate normal to the airflow, making it totally unsuitable to such flight? If your answer is to say that there is no air in space, then why the super streamlined aerodynamic body then?
If you view this in hard sci-fi (or realistic) setting then yes this thing might won't even be able to fly in the first place. To add further problems: protruding parts in bottom side might present significant air drag; there might not be enough surface area on the wing to generate lift; there's no visible propulsion/engine, etc. However, like indicated in the title and reference, this is set in fantasy world, where magic and some unexplained things 'rule' the world. Also, the word 'airship' means this won't go on interplanetary journey. The rotating runic glowing ring in the rear that might impede airflow is not just for decoration. It manipulates airflow, generates lift and also being the means of propulsion for the ship. The streamlined body might be mostly just for aesthetic and elegance purpose since I meant this to be some kind of royal flagship.
I can totally see some mass effect ships in there.
Actually want to be more Final Fantasy-ish, but I wouldn't mind that 😀
