@@JoelCreate yes once I figured out where it was heading. It was very easy to find the right layer to go back and fill in bits too which is my downfall still at the moment. I’ve stupidly agreed to do a family portrait for a friend. It may well be in this style if I can figure out their hair (men short, women tied back) but at least they’ll have faces!

Hi Joel, Great video as always. Could you possibly do a video showing how to create text in a portrait, that is, the text following the contours of the face. I’ve seen it done in Photoshop, but not Procreate. Would be super if you can.
this tutorial is really great ! It helped me to draw portraits even if I was terrified of it 😅 I was just wondering.. does it work only with dark background ? because I tried to doodle with a black color on a white background (and to draw the highlight as in your video, or the shades, just to see how it would turn out) and I feel like it does not work as well as your tuto sooo I would love to hear your opinion on it 😄 thank you very much !
That looks great, and doable for an amatuer! How would you handle a person with very straight hair though? The curls really seem to lend themselves to this style.

In that case you would draw shadows instead of highlights. The background in mine is the shadows.

You can open Procreate and your web browser of choice (safari or chrome) at the same time, then drag and drop the image to procreate 😀
