Ppl give a lot of praise to aayushman fr being inventive with his script choices, brining fresh content and so on but Abhay Deol was doing it wayyyy before him Manorama 6ft under, oye Lucky Lucky oye, Dev D are all so out of the box and inventive it's insane
You are only spoken off when u become successful consistently, no 1 was speaking these things about Ayushman when he did Vicky Donor, Hawaaizaade, Meri Pyaari Bindu, Saddi Galli either, its only after Dum Laga Ke Haisa, Shubh Mangal Savdhan, Andhadhun, Bala, Dream Girl phase when it happened
And before abhay deol it was Rahul Bose who did it.

Well actually let me tell you that Bollywood is as globally popular as Hollywood so I don't know which world cinema you are talking about and by the way Hollywood never makes films on social isssues so shut your mouth up
Yeah...not just him, all starkids. Bollywood doesn't deserve them, Hollywood doesn't want them. He doesn't know French and Asghar Farhadi or Bong Joon Hoo can't afford him! So pure wastage of talent!

Suave , sorted and talented. If there is one Bollywood hero I have always admired it is Abhay Deol. He did films that did not always fit into the commercial formula but I guess he followed his heart . He is also very insightful and articulate .This guy is gold .Thanks FC for this interview.

Mr.Deol was a breathe of fresh air for me when I first saw him in films in late 2000s. I think Honeymoon Travels was my first movie of his. Then I watched his first and second films Socha na the and Ahista Ahista . Will look forward to Jungle Cry. Glad Anumapa Mam did a new interview with him.
Abhay and Jim Sarabh should be in one frame.. but not sure if any Bollywood director can pull them off...

Just wondering whether he would have been excellent casting for Bruce Banner in The Incredible Hulk. I think he'd kill it. Fantastic actor. Wish he does more work in the future. Thoroughly enjoyed his interview.
He sounds a bit cocky to be honest. Love his filmography, but when you start taking yourself too seriously, you're done.

I think he’s holding onto a lot of resentment from the past. It is unfortunate he wasn’t supported by options like streaming platforms at the time but he really should bounce back and get in the mix. He’s such a versatile actor.

Abhay Deol is one of the best talent in Hindi cinema.
Sometimes you come across people who are authentic, not because they have to but they don't know how else to be. He is one of them.
This is what Anurag Kashyap said about Abhay Deol :- "He wanted to do artistic movies but also wanted the mainstream benefits. The benefits and luxuries of being a “Deol.” He would stay in a five-star hotel while the entire crew stayed in Paharganj for a film that was made on a very tight budget. Also the reason a lot of his directors went away from him.”
Do remember that Anurag Kashyap made a disaster like Bombay Velvet for which the director had no repentance for availing huge budget for that film

However it's not about doing something early or before anyone else, it's about doing it at the right time. Timing is controlled by your fate and everyone is just destined to do stuff. Sure, hardwork and talent play a huge role too but hard work and talent without knowing the right time to capitalise is like aiming in the dark to hit the target. The only reason why people give so much emphasis on hardwork and over hype it is because it helps people not go crazy and keep their mind free from the ultimate truth that nothing is in our control.

It's lovely to listen to people who are so articulate and have so much clarity of thought... And also quite honest with their answers.. Some of the interviews that I've really enjoyed on this channel are with abhay, shahid, a recent one with kunal kemmu, karan, sid malhotra.. There are people like zoya, farhan, saif, ranbir etc. who are really articulate but not very open and honest.. So you don't fully enjoy those interviews..
