Hi John, I have a the same guitar as you. a "Variax 700" for 17 years. Superb guitar. He never cheated on me. I still use it in Live. I don't use drums, I use the box controller for the electric guitar and another line for the acoustic guitar. In 2004 I paid 1,600 euros (Italy, Bologna).
I own a 700 model and two 500 variax models and an old Laptop with xp.... and with the Workbench i can do fine things... detuned guitars, open tunings, pickup settings... and you can overwrite every position... i have all sound, without any capodaster or tunig the guitar in one guitar... For example : the first 3 strings ar standard tunig, the three bass strings ar on octave deeper... if you are playing pickings, it sounds like bass and acoutic guitar... :)
it appears you are running straight in to your recording interface here via the 1/4" - does that mean you can also just plug that same 1/4" into an amp or into a pedalboard + amp? and all the tunings/models still work?
@@johnpulaski3293 that is amazing! may i ask- what was the dirt pedal you were stepping on to get your gain tones? this is honestly a REALLY great demo!!
Yeah, you’re definitely right on that. I apologize. I didn’t really know what I was doing with a lot of this stuff when I made that video many moons ago so again I apologize.
Man, if you're going to make an audio production then balance the guitar volume with the commentary. To hear what you're saying, I have to crank the volume _way_ up and risk wrecking my ears when you hit the guitar. 😳
Sorry about that. I’m pretty amateur on this whole thing and that was recorded not long after I first discovered an interface. Thanks for the feedback!

Dude that’s sweet! I’ll bet that’s a lot of fun!

That is correct!!!

@@incubrian it’s custom patches I created for my Line 6 HD500x. If you have one, I would be happy to email the patch to you.
I have a black 700 and and red one that has the whammy. Black has a Roland midi setup on it - great guitars!!
One is a hardtail? How do they compare? Can you explain more about the midi setup?
how is the tracking? any delays?
I’ve never recorded with it so I’m not sure. I’ve played live without it and there were no issues.
There is no noticeable latency 👍
Where the pickup?
It’s a Piezo pick up in the bridge
No pickup?
No, it’s a piezo bridge
I liked all the humbucker settings. Pity you didn’t play any lead or let it ring out. Great chord demo but needed the single notes really.
i have variax 600 and sounds very smiliar, not worse for sure
I think the big difference is the country of manufacture and the woods.
Dude you have so much saturation on your distortion , you can’t tell the difference between the tones when you kick it on. 😊

You literally only know 4 chords. Jk
😂 well done!!
