The only reason why we felt Taeyeon's voice changed when Jessica left is because Jessica is Taeyeon's halfway voice. They were meant to harmonized to each other's voices.

I have never really appreciate Jessica existence in SNSD but now I regret it, she brings so much to SNSD songs. Now SNSD songs are somewhat missing her unique voice. I miss Jessica :( Her harmony with Taeyeon is life. It would have hit daebak if SM gives Taengsic duet album. But but it's all down the drain now. Best of luck to Soshi8 and Jessica for their endeavors.

tae voice sounds diff after jess left... not about being a taengsic shipper but tae was left for all the hardest part without jess voice to balance things out, sure tiff and seohyun helped alot but the harmonization between taengsic is just- so good- too good to be true and its hard for anyone to par up with tae tbh... everyone can be a good singer but its really hard to put 2 voice together and make it sounds so good to audience ears... taengsic did that.....

jessica's voice is one of the most unique voice in k-pop. she may not have the best voice but her voice is unique and very distinctive. and without jessica in snsd anymore, snsd sound and music is lacking and not the same anymore. its like a big piece of chunk has been taken out in snsd's sound as a whole. and not taeyeon or tiffany or seohyun can replace it. its sad but its true. even snsd's best songs like into the new world, gee, genie, and the boys, jessica's voice was the one who made it complete and at their best.. now that jessica is gone, everytime they sing gee or genie, the impact of the song when it first came out is gone cz jessica is missing.. jessica is the 2nd best singer in the group next to tayeon she has perfect control with her voice and she can hit those high notes like its nothing. we lost a very important and relevant member of the group that brought a lot to snsd's sound as a whole. thats why until now i still cant get over the fact that jessica left snsd. its been a year and im still heartbroken.
I totally agree with this! Jessica was doing the harmony in so many songs, now there's something lacking! For example in their ballad "Girls" that they released after her departure, the feeling wasn't the same as their other ballads because her voice wasn't there. A lot people don't realize how much harmonizing she was doing and how much the "SNSD" sound was implying her voice.

I think I just realized now why SNSD is the the nation's girl group in Korea. They're not the best when it comes to singing but they embodied whatever it is that makes a girl group what it should be. It's hard to explain. But that's maybe because idols are not mostly about singing and dancing live, it's the spirit they portray. Kinda sad that one of them is no longer part of the group.

Just came back here after watching Sixteen and Produce 101 version of this, and man I didnt feel a thing with those perfs, this had me at the point of tears! Definitely prove that no one can top the original artist, mostly when that artist is SNSD 😭😭.

After produce 101 perform this, they all catching their breath.
The SNSD dickriding is strong. This is their debut song that they practiced over and over again, while their hoobaes probably got like a week maximum to put up a decent performance. You guys feel "something special" with this particular performance because again, this is their debut song, and you guys feel special emotions looking back through the years of their growth and development. Whereas the other groups' performances are again, just merely a cover and you don't feel any emotional attachment to those groups. Furthermore, they had Taeyeon and Jessica doing the harmonies while those other covers had only one person or maybe none at all who are capable of doing ad-libs. I guess what I'm trying to say is, I agree with you, but I see no reason to call out any of SNSD hoobaes out because they did their best trying to maintain the spirit of SNSD in their cover, and they did so out of respect and admiration out for their great sunbaenims.

After I posted this comment several months ago, I went back to produce 101, I didnt know there were 2 teams that performed this song, I posted this comment after watching the Pink team, but then I watched the Blue team and their performance was almost as great as this one! A great cover when its done right can transmit just as much emotion as the original 😊. The Blue team hoobeas did just that and then I felt and saw how much respect they had for their great Sunbaes, they worked really hard at keeping the essence of the song ❤❤ Thats the beauty of a great cover.

Jessica is such a huge loss for SNSD. Jessica was the only one who can come close to Taeyeon's vocals. Tiffany and Seohyun are good but nowhere near Jessica nor Taeyeon.

Taengsic slayyyinnn it. This is why they're the main vocalists. Don't get me wrong, Seohyun and Tiffany did well but no duo can harmonise and be paired vocally better than Jessica and Taeyeon in SNSD. I luv the beginning!!!! It made me so happy 😁😊😄

I have seen covers made by other girl group. They may make decent to good job but nothing can compare with OT9. When you listen to them, you can feel emotions and passion in this. 11 years later, girl groups cover their songs. The greatest girl group in k-pop history. All girl groups of today wants to emulate what they accomplished. This is a testament to their success.
And I do hope they reunite again. I believe they will.

Tiffany and Seohyun is far away from Jessica and Taeyeon's level. No matter what, OT9 SNSD held the crown. But now, the two top groups, SNSD and 2NE1, losing two members, having a new era already, some SONEs are scared already.
+Aleeson Lee thats true.. before when they were OT9 everything was just on them, it was impossible to break them down with the amount of fans they have, it weakened a bit to be honest since jessica's departure. and its not bec their bond is fake or what, its the stupid media that tore the fandom apart. Whenever I watch performances like this by SNSD, I am always reminded what a long way to go for current and future gg to be at par with their level (even when SNSD retires as a group). They can easily get views and whatnot with the technology age but it's a different thing to have such an impact and strong classic throwback songs that many parts of the world know. All the members of SNSD are def all strong since even if they do individual activities, they all do well in it, may it be acting, variety, model or solo albums. This is one of their strenghts: being strong as a team and being strong individually.
You'll rarely or never hear excuses for their comebacks (even in their debut) about their vocal and dance level. Even if they lip sync at one event, you are confident that they can nail and slay that song live (not just by a member but by all members). Nowadays, most fans have to defend their faves with "she's sick", "they're so busy" and whatever bs but SNSD and SONES aren't into those things. That's why they're still the true queens of kpop!

I get a little teary eyed watching this or anything with Jessica in it. I really do truly miss her. SNSD isn't SNSD with it's original 9th member. I don't like them as an 8 member group. I will continue support them no matter what because I really like them. But, I will forever miss Jessica, and wish she would be able to come back some day.

I would agree, I have been a fan since their debut in 2007 (that was when I was 7) and I have been a SONE fan up until Jessica left. I could never could listen to OT8 SNSD because there wasn't that distinct tone that Jessica had, and If I listen to their old songs, then I would cry. (I'm also a Jessica Stan, but I still support both OT8 SNSD and Jessica)
