Easy Jazz Ensemble - Grade 2
In the skilled hands of Rick Stitzel, here is a classy yet easy version of this familiar samba. Every section gets a chance to play the melody at some point, plus there is a solo section for any sax or flute.

The start of 0:53 and the rest is so perfect and good and relaxing.
Set the speed to 1.25, already better to my ears. At least that's the basic tempo our jazz band played it at.
yeah sounds much better
Same
Hey! You're right!
We play it faster in my band too
I wonderd why it was so slow xD
I played 1st alto sax for this!! I freaking loved this song ahhh😊😊
Been listening to this on loop trying to figure out the sax solo before I try out for it in my jazz band at school
I've been looking for a trombone solo in many other songs for inspiration.

I play Bari sax for this, love this piece
That's it...
You're going to Brazil!
My friend who plays bari got the sax solo and it sounded amazing.
Solo starts at 1:25
Love this song played on my 6 th grade jazz band
Perfect video to help me get my bass playing just right for my schools jazz band
play it on 1.25
We played this song at the PMEA district 3 jazz festival, and I was so honored and exciting to play the solo for this song! I gotta say, it sounds better on the bari sax😉

IK I PLAYING IT
I listened to the original Aquarela do Brasil and it absolutely ruined this adaption for me. I just can't listen and enjoy it anymore. The original is so much better.
The original is not scored for middle/high school jazz band. This is probably closest to an "authentic" arrangement for school ensemble that I've heard; but, of course, it is not as colorful as the original score for professional orchestra and takes some liberties with it's adaptation naturally. It is well done, though. :)
But I do love the original recording; but also the Michael Kamen film score is gorgeous!
