If it’s only power chords with no open chords, why go to the hassle of tuning down a half step? You can just play the same positions one fret lower. There will be a subtle difference to the sound due to the lower string tension, but it’s a better option for most of us.

There are no cowboy chords or open strings. Why not just play in standard tuning back one fret. The chords would all match up.
