    I guess I'm overlooking it, but where are the firing schedules? I haven't done any of the "pressed" glass and would like to know the initial fire stats please.

    Is there a way to press glass that doesn’t get kiln wash in it? Maybe boron

    • @TabithasGlassEmporium
      @TabithasGlassEmporium  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Michelle, we do not use boron because it is not easy to get it here in Europe so we really can not give you advice about that.

    Tabitha! Your creativity (and your Team's) just knows no bounds! I LOVE, love, love those, mostly because I am madly in love with hearts anyway! You could use the larger "scrap" heart with the oranges and yellows as a "coaster" of sorts. You could put 3 little rubber "feet" on the back so it sits evenly and there you go! Maybe it could be a gift for a teacher of one of your daughters? LOL! Thank you so very much. I have so much fun watching what you come up with! Thanks for sharing! 😉👍💖

      As we love to say around here: 'give it a go' ;) I think it would make a really cute trinket dish.

      Hi Susan, unfortunately this video does not have a firing schedule, probably by mistake. This is the link of another project using the same process so you can find a firing schedule at the end of that video, starting on 9:00min so you can scroll down to that.

    Where do you buy your metal kiln shelves? Also, what are other alternatives for something heavy to put on the pieces to be fired. I can’t get enough weight using regular kiln shelves. Thank you!

    • @TabithasGlassEmporium
      @TabithasGlassEmporium  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't use metal kiln shelves. What I was referring to is a specific shelf I use for projects that have metal bits in them (I mark it, so I know which one it is), as the metal will contaminate the shelf and will possibly contaminate any project you put on that shelf after. And as far as adding weight for pressing glass, if one kiln shelf isn't enough, try putting one more on top, or any other kiln furniture you have, but I think maybe you're not going hot enough. One shelf is usually enough, so maybe try going a bit hotter and see if you get the results you are after.

    Can you use fiber paper (not thinfire) on top of glass, between glass and and top shelf? Is this something that you've tried? I don't have access to sandblaster, so am concerned I will end up with kilnwash stuck to top of the glass. Thank you. And thank you for sharing your ideas and methods!

    If a second firing is required to fill gaps with frit, is it necessary to add the weights (kiln shelf, etc) back on? Would just a full fuse still in the fiber paper mold work?
