Some people might be unimpressed by this new release but I think it's actually perfectly reasonable considering how good the tv3 was already; the tv4 simply adds a few QoL upgrades to the tv3 without sacrificing any performance. If the cube is good and performs well, I don't see a reason to make any drastic changes.
Then it should’ve been the v3 pro? At least gan makes gan fx or gan pro when they make QoL changes instead of just lazily calling it gan 15
@ xChase3800x the v3 did have a mid season update with the higher quality cores that were less prone to breaking plus it makes more sense to have the v4 come out when the v3 came out 2 years ago

I'm glad qiyi moved the magnet adjustment from the edge to the corner, a major problem on the tv3 was the magnet settings could change with corner twists (which happened semi-frequently)
I always love Phil’s optimism and honesty with these reviews. The TV3 is my current main and has been for over a year now, so I’m excited to give the TV4 a try when I get the chance to.
Guys, it’s not a bad thing for it to be an incremental upgrade from the TV3 considering how good the TV3 already was. Big changes aren’t always gonna be better, just look at Gan. The Gans 13 and 14 weren’t that good compared to the 12, and it took them to get to the Gan 15 for some of their own GanGurus to switch from the Gan 12.

I agree with someone else that said they want black internals. Maybe just anything but primary. I like the one Moyu wrm with the purple internals.
Sounds nearly perfect, assuming that there's no manufacturing quality issue like last time. The only reservation for me is the size. A 54mm to 54.5mm version is what will make it perfect. 👏👏👏
thats very small for many people, and the point of the tv3 is to appeal to as many people as possible. most people like 55-55.5 mm. if you like smaller cubes (fairly) similar to the tv3, i would suggest checking out the ch wrm 21. If you already have a wrm 21 and you like it, you can ignore this.
Just smoothing out the experience for what is basically already the perfect cube (for me at least) sounds totally worthwhile to me.
I wish more companies would learn from this design and focus on making the quietest cube possible, because that is the feature that puts the tornado a cut above the rest of the market for me.
glad they kept the tv3 feel with some upgrades! TV3 was so appreciated its a good thing they didn't completely change it

Honestly after 2 years of me cubeing this is the first time I see a new cube release (ik alot of cubes were made but I ment like first time I was aware they came out)
Yeah 24 adjustments vs just 8 adjustments with a sound queue is good engineering.

I hope you show the core next time. I saw someone say that the TorV3's core issue comes from the fact that it's made of several pieces jigsaw puzzled together instead of one singular mold.

This is a great update for the tornado v3, if you think the other version has more magnets like the gan cube, I think the other version of the v4 has leap, and I'm so excited to see the new version.

As someone who moved away from the V3 due to how often I'd get corner twists even on tighter settings, it's great to know this one feels less flexible overall.
Question: are the center caps easier to open? Because that was another big, BIG issue I had with the V3 and I'll be a lot more interested in the V4 if it's been solved.

Ive always liked the tornado v3 until i dropped it and it explodes into a million pieces. So seeing the v4 is similar to what i liked with improved quality of life updates means they are not "fixing" whats already good. Good choice by XMD.

But if v4's price is too much for you,go for v3.

I was using the tv3 while watching this video and my corner twisted and when I tried to twist it back, the piece snapped in two, this is the second time this has happened so I hope the tv4 will be better.

The only problem with the Tv3 is that the Pioneer version seems too fast and not a viable choice compare to the Flagship version. I really hope Pioneer version on Tv4 can helps.

I saw review videos of both cubes and decided to buy Tornado V3, but I found out it might break - the core can break and magnets can become loose. Please suggest, sir. Should I buy Moyu or Tornado V3? I'm sort of a beginner, solving in around 25 seconds, but I don't know all OLL and PLL algorithms (basic OLL plus a few more and 6-7 PLL algorithms).
I recently bought Moyu RS3M V5 magnetic dual-adjustable version. Should I keep it or buy a new one after a few months, like December? Is RS3M V5 fine? My RS3M V5 also locks up a lot. Please clear my confusion."

tv3 is really customizable while yes it breaks down but in my case i smash it through the ground
moyu v10 is really really good too!
you cant go wrong with either one
but i'd reccomend the flagship of the tv3 since its cheaper and customizable than moyu v10 which is like USD 35$

qiyi probably just found no more improvements to the cube, they've probably been experimenting for 2 years, and the tv3 was already perfect enough besides a few stuff like the QoL of the cube

can somebody explain to me what the difference is between tension and elasticity? how does one effect what? in my head, both effects the same spring?
tension = space of the spring (basically the area of the spring where it resides either its tight or loose lengthwise)
elasticity = length/stress stuff of the spring (how "long" or "short" the spring is stretched)
