To be hounest, theese Fake Necas are still better than other action figures.. I have a few and im happy with them.

Not on this Freddy though. I just bought a fake one 3 weeks ago and reordered to get the real one. The fake I had looks nothing like it should in the pictures.

Its crazy when that happens because I always wonder if they did it on purpose lol.
I bought a Dream Warriors Part 3 and was sent a Part 1 so now I have an extra part 1 on hand. Made sure even before I bought it that it wasn't from China and still got jipped but I did notice a coloration difference with both of my part 1's as pretty much shown here. Interesting stuff to know now. Astounds me that someone can conjure up a sweet package like this in their own home.
I wonder if these bootleg companies don't get some of the original sculpts from the figs sometimes because some of the figs like this guy or the neca 1990 pennywise the mouth looks wonky or face looks long or to flat i think they have to make new sculpt sometimes idk tho

What I want to know is what is the real story with all these fakes. How do they get the moulds which are clearly the exact same. Are they stolen metal moulds or are they stolen say from a computer file digitally?. Who is making these?, are the same guys from the factory just making them at night when the factory is supposed to be closed. How do they aquire the plastiks used and the paints. This and many more questions I would love to know.
I would love to know that. I want to ask Neca but I know they wouldnt answer even if they knew. I thought they bought the figure an literally break it down and make molds of each piece.
I work in Aerospace, and all the parts that don't meet a certain Quality standard, get scrapped and never reach Boeing, Airbus. Boeing will reject perfectly good and functional parts over the smallest paint discrepancies. When NECA has problems with Quality in their factories, they just segregate lots for whatever reason, could be joint, paint, function issues, package issues, etc etc. Neca toys don't go on airplanes and bad QC products won't have to go into the scrap/recycle bins, therefore will be sold to other companies at a big discount. NECA and the Bootleg products are almost coming out at the same time, Neca themselves admit to issues at the factories, therefore I wouldn't be surprised if the knockoffs were also produced at the same factories. People need to understand that the Chinese factory isn't owned by NECA, they just have a contract with NECA to produce their figures. These are just toys and the manufacturers won't loose out on bad lots just because NECA, Hasbro, and Mattel reject lots that are out of Spec. As long as there is a market for NECA toys, there will be a market for toys out of tolerance.
@@jaquio69 You're correct, both figures are genuine. Both are made from the same factory, one's QC passed and the other is defective. The defective ones are supposedly to be destroyed but instead someone decided to keep them for resale.
When I come across an defective figure I always try to do an exchange first. If the 2nd one still doesn't look right I then ask for a refund.
Some of the major joints and parts are different actually. They are not rejects from Neca. The Chinese fakers take apart a real Neca figure, until it is in pieces, then they 3D scan it, using high-tech scanning devices, and then they use cheap plastic to replicate the parts, it's almost like 3D printing, but a bit different.
@@saulgoodman3115 This sounds likely as I received 2 figures that didn't even have the NECCA writing on the side of the box. Not sure why though
If you get a good fake, the bottom line is you got a great bargain! Figures bought as an investment is silly with modern figures, years ago people didnt catch on, now everyone does, so I doubt you will ever have these types of figures as rare in years to come. Unless your a collector these bootlegs are a bargain and grab them, theres not too many Neca bootlegs that will break on you.
Ya there definitely not goin to be as valuable as past action figures. Especially since all the stores are getting them now. Wish the fakes were cheaper tho cause there about the same price as the real smh

Great vid, i noticed you didnt check the bottoms of the figure to compare if they were stamped with the neca logo. is that a sign of a fake as well ?
Sucks you have to give the fakers money to do these videos, but they are very helpful. Hope to see some more in the future.

I can’t thank you enough for your videos. I unfortunately fell victim to a fake ultimate Freddy I bought online. Once it came in I knew something just wasn’t right. The eyes were a different color and the hand with the severed finger didn’t look correct. Tuned in to your channel to find out I bought a fake. Managed to order from a different seller to get the real one, now I’m trying to return the fake.
I got stung for this and a Jason pt5 Seller promised they were real. when I got them Necca writing wasn't written on the box anywhere. Managed to get a partial refund but still really pissed.

I got this from a UK seller, the advert says real NECCA. When I received it the box didn't even have Necca written on the side. Same with a pt5 Jason, His legs are like spaghetti. I managed to get a partial refund but was still upset. Hard to find real ones where I live.🙁
I live in Brazil, and here is very hard to find real ones, I paid a little more for a Freddy that looks authentic, and it's coming today, I hope it's the original, otherwise I'm gonna have to return it and get a refund.
The velcro is on reverse sides on the bootleg. By that I mean that the piece on the right side of the real box is on the left side of the bootleg and vice versa.

last spring or summer I ordered a freddy neca and Jason and they were $11.99 each free shipping from china never came but I don't think they charged me
A good way to make sure you got a real one is if you bought from best buy or walmart / target those are real

I think this video is partially wrong. You first thing you say is that the easiest way to tell is by the boxes, and the fake is way darker. My box is very dark so that worried me. However, everything else matches up with the real one. The thickness of the tape, the paint matching up with the lines on Freddy's sweater, his skullface having bloodshot eyes (although mines face is very bloody), his teeth being yellow and not white. Hard to tell with the eyes. The velcro is on the correct side too. But more signs show mine being real than fake and I got him from a good retailer so this might be one where release versions can vary or something. I don't know.
Edit: I think I've figured it out! So mine and a few other commenters have dark boxes, and I just spotted one comment that says "mine doesn't say 30th anniversary" but the fake one also says 30th anyway. So my guess is, if you have a dark box but it just says "ultimate freddy" on the side and not anything about anniversary, and the figure matches up with the real one from this vid, then you have a real one, it's just not the declared as an anniversary one, only ultimate freddy. Could be a newer or older release version.
yes omg ! I was so confused because everything looked ok usually you can tell right away ex. The fake chucky one. The paint job is horrible. I was also scared since my box IS darker and only says ultimate Freddy no 30th anniversary so yea

I just got a Freddy and he is the real one but his box is more on the darker side. I'm still glad I didn't get anything that has low quality detail like that fake one

I bought one and the side panel on the top it only says "Ultimate Freddy" I dont know what to think....is it a 2nd edition?? + the colorization is the same as the fake :(

Yes they reissued this figure. From what I seen the only one that they have made a fake of is the first released figure. You would have to check the street date an see when the first one came out.
Not to be that guy but if it looks the same when displayed who cares? And I dont think these are fake. Why would they have all of neca info on them? They wouldn't make any money and would be sued
Because while it may not be an actual fake, since these all come from the same factory in China, the paint isn't correct and some limbs/joints are seized.
Basically it's a defective figure that China then sells at a discount. The only real, non-defective figures that China makes gets shipped to the American companies (NECA, in this case) that paid for their production.
China is not in the business of selling legit stuff to the masses. The defect products that they can't ship to the American companies get sold by their aftermarket sellers on Ebay. Don't get me wrong, I own a few fakes and am happy with them. But not all of them are worth even a single dollar. It's a risk you take.
Basically, if you buy a figure from a Chinese seller that's a lot cheaper than usual and it ships from China, it is 100‰ non-authentic. The terms" bootleg", "knock off" and "fake" are actually incorrect. They're just defective in some way and being sold as if they're not.
I think my Freddy is the fake one🤪is there anything you can do on eBay filters to filter out the fakes?its hard to tell on there and the prices really vary

You know what's funny? I got the real Ultimate Freddy a couple of years ago, I'm sure it was the real thing, box was factory sealed and everything... And de bloody damn thing came with its head glued on with a silicon gun!

I have the original not the 30th anniversary and mine of the picture of Freddy is darker so I think it might be real and the tape was also one inch
So far in every single fake that I have received there has never been 1" tape on the bootlegs. Only the real have had that tape in my experience
I'm on the same boat and seriously doubting if mine is original. Just got a not 30th anniversary one (old stock i guess) and the box is dark, almost as much as the bootleg. The paint app looks like the original one on the video and has 1" tape. The only difference i can spot is that the alternate head has little/no shading around the eyes, so it's either original or bootlegers wised up and started using 1" tape.

I did contact the seller a few days ago and apparently it's the real thing, and i'm inclined to believe him since he was 1/2 and 1/4 neca figures too (i've never seen bootlegs of those). Tried contacting neca to ask if it was original but never got a reply from them.
Makoto K here’s my take and experience. I started collecting NECA in 2016 and I believe in 2018 I ordered the NOES 1 and 3, both in China and thought nothing of it. Then these types of videos start popping up and I started to question everything. Point being buy only from big bad toy store or any of the stores around here like target, FYE, etc. we can’t fall for those out of country anymore. You’d figure that NECA literally has a relationship with US retail stores so don’t venture out into out of country. Believe me I almost fell for a 1989 batman shipping from China

we ordered this one on ebay. soo as i ;looked at feedback i messaged them and demamded a refund. its a bootleg. shirt paint is better than this fake but everything else is off and box is so dark no detail in shadows. they actually refunded before i got it. it came today. ill be keeping it too. shipped from china but the ebay said from alaska.
I always say that the company you are buying it from will admit it is fake but people still fight me on it lol. I am glad that you were able to get a refund from the fake.
I have a question? Is it possible Walmart would have fake necas? My Freddy has the dark glove and very similar all around to the fake one that you have.. my phone chord on mine is like the real one you have though.
And under his shirt on mine his stomach is solid black .. I have seen others on TH-cam that were regular skin color
If it's from Walmart you should be good. Not every single figure will have 100% matching paint, as they're all hand painted for the most part.
I actually like the fake figure better.
Its funny cause simetimes that happens. In my video of the fake and real FVJ Jason Voorhees, my real version didnt come with a slashed masked smh
both of these look fake to me.....the real one's sweater comes down more than on both of these.......you can look at the picture in the actual box to see what i mean.

I picked up a fake one at Target of all places. I thought it was just missing the Fred head with the skull. Turns out the phone looks like crap too. I never thought I'd get a fake from a retail store.
